The food was amazing, not one cold bite!! I had the chimichangas Alcapuco, best chimichanga I had in years!! The service was great! Prompt not a frown to be found on the staff. I love the black and white portraits it reminds me of the old westerns when there was always a hero. read more

Chips were not warmish in the middle and cold on the outside. The salsa was ok, tasted very Americanized, there was no flavor at all. My tacos were ok, not bad, and definitely not something I would want to order again. The consomé was salty, and good. The rice was bland, and I ended up not even eating it. There are better places out there. read more

Burro Loco - Tacos - Mexican Near Me - Anderson, Indiana

The food here isn't great. I ordered the burrito loco and it's not bad but the shrimp doesn't taste good and everything tastes kinda bland. The chips and salsa were really good though. The service is mediocre. The look of the establishment was definitely great to look at. And it was clean. Overall I don't fully recommend this place but I understand why you would come back every once in a while. read more

The food is very good however service can be slow sometimes. The restaurant is usually very crowded and very loud. So if you are looking for a quiet ambience, this is not the place to be! Prices are very reasonable! read more

Awesome salsa, good food, GREAT margarita and good service. This place had a great atmosphere. As what Gen. MacArthur said, I will return.

I have been there since I moved to Anderson at least 30 times. Have always had an exceptional experience. I will say, though our last visit this week was not the greatest.. service was fantastic as always the problem is the beef in the enchilada. The taco and burrito had no flavor whatsoever.. the beef in the Chili relleno was also terrible and it appears that someone different from the last two years was cooking. We did not complain. We're not really complainers, but I will say it's sad to see such a great history of experiences, be let down in the kitchen. I cook a lot myself, and I don't know if the cook forgot to season the meat or what, but it was really not good at all. I hope they get it together, even when Javier is not there. Seems to run like clockwork when he is present. I tried to order a chorizo taco even at an up charge. I volunteered to go with one of their combination dinners they wouldn't let me. Also the combination dinners don't come with rice and beans that makes no sense to me.. it wasn't cheap either. It was $40 for two no alcohol anyway I hope someone reads this that matters. Went here for the first time with my wife recently and we were both impressed. Chips and salsa were great and the entree's were very tasty and felt authentic. Would definitely go again! PS for all restaurants- please consider sanitizing items such as menus and salt/pepper shakers between customers, thanks! read more

Food was good. I always enjoy eating here when I visit Anderson. The service was terrible. The waiter came back only once after the food was brought. Was expecting more. read more

Burro Loco has fast and friendly service and generous portions. My wife and I were able to split the lunch fajita and we both left feeling very full. The house Margarita is delicious, strong and relatively cheap for the quality. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal and we would definitely come back if we are in the area. read more

Service was speedy here. Great place to stop for a quick lunch. I had the taco salad with shredded chicken. Chips and salsa were free.

Great food! Friendly people, the places is so closed to a typical Mexican restaurant. Outstanding option for lunch.

This place NEVER disappoints. NEVER. They've won best margarita in Madison County, a few times now, and for good reason! Try one! There is not one thing that I have ordered from here that I have not been pleased with. Food is always good quality, fresh and hot! I love ordering carry-out from here! They literally always have it ready in 10 minutes or less. Pretty amazing, considering the phone line is always busy and the line is typically out the door. The standard salsa they bring out is a little off in flavor and heat for me. I usually just ask for some of their hot salsa and mix the two! It's so delicious that way!!!!! Ooooo, I almost forgot! They have a pretty tasty Mexican Choriqueso! read more

The food and service is terrific. Pricing are great and they don't take forever to get your food to you!

Great food, can be slower than I'd like, but a pretty great wait staff and great food.

Very good food. This restaurant can get pretty busy but I've never had to wait too long to get seated and the staff are well capable of dealing with the busy periods. read more

Came in after a winter hike around Mounds State Park. It has lots of parking in a private lot and a very bright building that you can't miss. First up was free chips and salsa, which was the perfect app and intro to the lunch meal. I opted for one of the many vegetarian meals. It had three different pieces to the meal. The food came with such a huge portion and it allowed me to keep some leftovers. The service was the star of the show, to be honest. Great, filling food and lots and lots of options! read more

Food, service, ambiance, all good, best Mexican restaurant in town as my opinion. Parking can be a problem, however

I've lived in the area for over a year and had Burro Loco in the back of my mind, I finally had a night to check it out when I was craving some chips and salsa. It was a nice way to end my carb-eating week before settling back into the boring low-carb life. Ugghh. But back to those deep-fried burritos, or chimichangas, as most restaurants call them. I have the chicken chimichanga and it was good, smaller in size than I've normally seen them BUT definitely more than enough to fill me up. It came with rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole. Pretty decent for under $10. My husband had something similar, but his came with TWO chimichangas and no sour cream or guac. Their salsa is great! Mild and not spicy, but good! The menu is pretty big and they have lunch specials and combo meals available. The service could have used some more attention, we stood and waited a bit to be greeted or sat even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Our waiter wasn't very interactive but did fill up our salsa and drinks promptly. Also, they serve Mello Yello here (if you see my other reviews, you will get my I mention this - my husband seeks this out, ha!) read more

Burro Loco is a highlight of the Anderson experience. The food is consistently good and the staff are efficient and usually friendly. Also, they have the best margaritas in the county with awards to prove it! Our favorite dishes are: the fajitas (take your pick), Quesadilla Mazatlan (a tortilla stuffed with meat and fajita veggies and cheese), Chimichanga Acapulco (a crispy deep fried tortilla stuffed with meat and cheese), Enchiladas Cancun (yummy shrimp enchiladas) and the Taco Salad Fajita. Please give Burro a try. They deserve the chance to prove that they're the best in town! read more

I've had some bad Mexican food in my life, and Burro Loco tops that list. That is a pretty bold statement, but it is also a true statement. However, I am giving this place two stars instead of one because of their chips and salsa. The chips and salsa here are very good. I could see a person having an enjoyable time if they just ordered chips and salsa, and maybe an alcoholic drink or two. Anything beyond that is an exercise in disappointment. I ordered a combination plate which included a tamale, enchilada and taco. I was in a party of 10, and everyone got their order except me. The server asked me again what I ordered, then gave me a plate that included an enchilada and tostada, and said to me: "Here, just eat this while I get your food." Um ... OK? Let me eat this random food that I didn't order? I should mention that the enchilada and tostada were lukewarm and covered with ground beef. You're probably thinking, "Yum, I love ground beef," but these were COVERED like someone needed to get rid of the last of the ground beef and decided to just dump it on the plate. When I finally got the plate of food that I ordered, it, too, was covered with ground beef. All of it. Covered. With ground beef. Is this a signature thing with Burro Loco, to cover everything with ground beef? This plate of food, like the first plate of food, was lukewarm. By this time, I just wanted my meal to be over and I was happy that I had filled myself with so many chips and so much salsa. I'm not quite sure why this place gets such high ratings. Maybe everyone is just getting chips and salsa and alcohol? read more

Burro Loco - Chips and salsa - Mexican Near Me - Anderson, Indiana

Dined here with several girlfriends for a ladies night out. It was packed on a rainy night (a good sign) but we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. Our server took our drink order right away. A strawberry margarita came out quickly & I tasted it with permission from my friend - good but strong! Three bowls of salsa along with 3 baskets of fresh, hot tortilla chips were brought out & they were descended upon by hungry women - LOL. The salsa was delicious & obviously fresh as were the chips. I ate so much of the salsa & chips that I was almost full when the food arrived. I ordered combo #14 for $7.99 which consisted of a taco, chalupa w/guacamole and a Chile relleno - all fantastic! Everyone in the group was happy with their food. Can hardly wait to return. read more

Have visited many times, the food is good. But last visit I was shorted a side of cheese dip and guac on my carryout order, stopped by the next day to see if I could get it. Was told to come back in a couple days to speak to the manager that was on duty the day before, I said I don't think I'll make yet another trip cause it's out of the way. I don't plan to return, that isn't good customer service in my opinion, that wasn't a lot of food, they could've just replaced it. read more

The food is always good. As is the service. The ambiance would remind you of a Mexican restaurant!

Authentic Mexican dishes. Unique combinations. Great service. Friendly staff. Really nice place to eat. We always take our friends there.

I've been to this Mexican restaurant several times now, and I really like it! It's very quaint with how it's decorated, and the service has always been really good. I've gotten the quesadilla and taco salad so far, and they were both great (sorry, I forgot to take pictures!). My boyfriend has celiac and is very sensitive to any cross contamination, but he has eaten here multiple times with no reaction, so it's nice to find a place that has gluten free options and is a safe place for him to eat! read more

One of our favorite restaurants in Anderson. Huevos Rancheros is awesome! We always get fantastic service and the food doesn't disappoint.

Really great Mexican! Chips and salsa were a great starter while we waited on our food. Salsa was tasty although if you don't like cilantro you will not like it. Chips were hot and fresh without being greasy. Just a warning - if you ask for a second basket of chips you are charged for them. My husband had the Chimichanga lunch special and I had a similar dish but with corn tortillas instead of flour. Everything was good including the service! read more

Burro has been a favorite since I attended AU, while Anderson does not have the best Mexican Food Burro always satisfies.
