Hit this place 2-3 times a week and it never fails to deliver. Great food, atmosphere and service every single time. We love the staff!

We had a great time at dinner and some delicious food. However, our quoted time of 30 minutes turned into almost one full hour as some tables just weren't interested in leaving even though there were people waiting for tables on a Friday night. Once we finally did get a server, they were triple sat and that made our time elongated even more. It's a good restaurant. It's well cared for and the food is good. It's ok. Reason I gave three stars instead of two was location. If they were a mile south it would be a two and might not ever visit again. Not the friendliest bunch. They don't come around for refills so you need to track them down. Turn and burn seems to be the way. Food is ok. Place is nice inside. Friendly staff greet you as you walk into the front door. Very authentic decor with loud color scheme. Very welcoming and bright. As soon as I sat down the waiter took my drink order and dropped off some chips and salsa. As for the chips and salsa, they were prettty tasty, not the best I had ever had but not the worst either.. I decided to have one of their numbered specials that had a burrito and a taco. The burrito was delicious and delivered hot and flavorful to my table. The hard shell taco was not the best, kind of bland. A child would have loved the taco. I loved their retried beans, next time I will get a double order. I feel compelled to knock this down a star. Yeah the atmosphere is good, nice tables, quick service, and everyone in Pendleton seems to go there (if you want to see them). Place is seemingly always busy. The food just isn't very good. You really can do better if this style of chain Mexican is your thing. I swear every time I have been (and it has been at least a half dozen times) the food is DRY. Asada tacos are an absolute stay away, meat over cooked to the point of being super chewy then sprinkled with cilantro. Same for the chicken...just dry. Loco burrito (supposed to be wet) was half wet. Even the Micheladas aren't very good. Fajitas are pretty safe but...fajitas...meh. On my way back from a basketball game last night I knew I was going to stop here as I have visited before and remembered it was a good location. First off, the service is very prompt, and courteous. My server had chips and my drink out within a minute or two, and was ready to take my order. I ordered the Aroz Con Pollo, with re fried beans instead of rice (always my go to). The time to get my food to my table was only about 5-10 minutes and wow, it was HOT! The chicken was soft and delicious, and the beans tasted good. Again, very impressed as sometimes going to a Mexican restaurant the food is not always piping hot, but here it was! Grabbed lunch with a group for business. Service was fast! Food was excellent! Any item on the lunch menu was fantastic!

I went for lunch on a Saturday. The decor and atmoshere were nice, restaurant was very clean. I was brought chips & salsa just after being seated. The chips were thicker and harder then I prefer. I ordered a frozen margarita with salt on the rim and my server brought me a margarita on the rocks. I overheard a nearby table was brought out wrong drinks too, same server. The taco salad I ordered was okay.....by the time the sour cream and cheese sauce was poured all over it, everything was soggy. I will not be back to this restaurant. read more

We've come here more than a few times. The service and food has been good. But for some reason tonight it wasn't. The service was poor. Super disappointing! Decided to try because of a long wait time at our usual place. There were tons of positive reviews here, so we gave it a shot. Got home to find half the order missing, and what was correct was soggy and cold from the cup of sour cream slopped all over it in the container. We had been out to Falls Park and were looking for someplace new to eat. We happened on Hacienda and noticed several people making their way to the restaurant. We decided to take a look and try it out.we were seated promptly and drink order taken. Food was out quick and salsa and chips were good. I had the Chimichanga Acapulco which was stuffed with Beef, chicken and Shrimp . Food was good and had good variety of flavors. My wife had the Chicken Chimichanga and said it was loaded with chicken. It was an enjoyable meal and not over salted like some places.We will visit again when we are out in Pendlton. read more

The building is large, clean, modern and has tvs. The staff is friendly and unlike almost all other Mexican joints, they keep your drinks and chips refilled the whole time! I was very displeased with the meal we had today. I'm not a very picky eater but I could barely stomach dinner combo 21 - taco, burrito, chalupa. The ground beef was grey and very bland - in desperate need of salt and seasoning. More than bland, it was just a horrible taste and hard to describe. I was surprised to find the "burrito" was just a tortilla filled with nothing but their disgusting refried beans that taste like dirty dishwater. No meat, cheese or anything else in the burrito. The menu did not specify exactly what was in the burrito but I expected more. The "chalupa" was simply a hard round tortilla chip covered in more of the disgusting refried beans. No meat or substance. I took one bite of each and couldn't eat any more. I'm hoping this was just a bad day because I do not know how they could possibly stay in business with such horrible food. So this place is really convenient to get to from our house, so we seem to end up here a lot. The service is always fast and the staff friendly. However the food is not unlike the Americanized Mexican food available at myriad nondescript restaurants everywhere. It's nice they have live music on a fairly regular basis. We have celebrated Cinco de Gringo there as the beer is cold. If you are hoping for authentic Mexican food look elsewhere. If you want a cheap belly-full of beans, meat and tortillas in some combination - under the mystery sauce - this is your place. At least I can drink beer while there. Poor service before we even got there. A large party of about 14 which included 2 young children. 1) They wouldn't take reservations, even at 2:00 in the afternoon. 2) Wouldn't seat us until all of our party arrived. Thee restaurant was maybe 40% full. 3) When the waiter refused to take the Children's order from the parents. Because he wanted to do drinks first for the group. Children were somewhat upset. This is a typical Mexican spot in America with your list of taco plates that includes things ranging from burritos and taquitos to chimichangas and chalupas. Everyone that works there is nice, but I'm not sure about how it is run. Seemed like kind of a mess when I visited later on a Sunday. They claim to have great margaritas and I don't disagree as they're heavy on tequila. Maybe the biggest bonus was that the food came really quick, so this is probably a good spot for children who want food immediately. Plus, they give you free chips that come a bit warm, likely having sat under a heat lamp. You won't get amazing food, but that's not what you're counting on from Hacienda Vieja. Service has went way down hill. Don't take pride in how there food is presented. I got Burrito Loco that I always get and the food was warm not Hot for manager Antonio to cut it in front of me and touch isle to say is hot is not acceptable. Plate has water all over it the meat was taken out of water and put from grill right to burrito no time on grill to get hot and add flavor from grill. Been going there for years but now will be looking for new place. Our waitress was excellent , manager and cooks are not acceptable.
