    Peach margarita
    Mark E.

Used to frequent this restaurant on a regular basis. Plenty of seating in the bar and great place to enjoy a margarita. Raymundo was our server/bartender. He was outstanding. Couple next to us said he was their favorite. I was craving their fish tacos. What I got and what I remembered from the past did not meet expectations. I remembered blackened tilapia served on the plate with the wraps left in foil. It also came with a hot sauce, which was missing. The fish is now put on the wraps and lightly seasoned if at all. The presentation was unappealing and the food unfortunately was bland. I will go back as this was my first not great experience. The margarita was great as was the service.

I usually don't eat Mexican food but Mexican pizza is phenomenal! Salsa is delicious! Service is great! Whenever I want Mexican food, I will be coming here.

    Arroz Con Pollo

The rice was good. Ordered arroz con pollo and there was absolutely no cheese. Had a little hope that stirring it up and maybe the cheese was on bottom, but nope. Also ordered Quesobirria. Seems like it'd be a quesadilla with Birria in it. Wrong again. I'm not actually sure what the difference between the Quesobirria and the Birria tacos at this point.

My husband and I visited Riviera Maya for the second time tonight. On Wednesdays, they offer a special on flavored margaritas--$5.99 for one! You really can't beat that. I ordered the Quesadilla Matzanlan, which was a huge portion and absolutely delicious! You can choose between chicken or steak for the quesadilla. My husband had the taco salad, which was also a special tonight. The only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 is because of the service. While we were attended to, we were left sitting with empty plates and drinks for quite a while, even though there weren't many other patrons. Our server giggled a bit too much and the way he smiled at us was a bit creepy, to each their own I guess. He then proceeded to laugh at my husband for not drinking tonight. Though my husband wasn't bothered, I feel that could have come off as rude or insensitive. It's important to be mindful of these things in the world we live in. The margarita deal was too good to beat, we'll definitely consider in the future!

This place is huge! If you're ever needing to get in somewhere, you will most likely be able to sit down right away. The only downside is that the service was kind of slow. I'm wondering if it is because of its size. Food came out quickly though and was great. Chips and salsa good as always. I had the fajitas and they were perfectly seasoned!

We tried calling a few times for a reservations for a party of 9 at 7:30 on a Saturday night but apparently they don't make reservations and they told us to just call ahead when we're on our way We tried calling ahead but they then changed about that option too because they didn't accept our call ahead either, I guessed it worked out just fine because when we got there last night they were able to seat us as soon as they were able to put the tables together so there's not much wait They don't have alcohol menus, they just have a little menu on the table in one of those table number holder, a few of us got alcoholic beverages, 2 people got beers, 1 individual frozen margarita and 1 pitcher split by 3 people The food we got were burritos, chimichangas, arroz con carne, arroz con chorizo and pollo loco, and a couple of desserts We all think the food was good but nothing to raved about I'd say the inside of the restaurant is just like other good Mexican restaurants, this place is spacious with a kinda circular bar area in the middle

At the request of a Facebook post, I'm leaving this review. The food and service are excellent. That said, there's an in-house videographer and I'm supposed to leave an "appropriate review". Here goes. Rules for recording me: 1. No nose pick pics. 2. No recording me after 3 or more drinks. 3. No recording me while I make toilet (I'm a sucker for Borat). 4. I'd like a larger selection of candy at the counter. Nothing brings out the taste of Mexican food like a kit-kat chaser. Keep up the good work.

The ambiance was great; this restaurant has a party atmosphere, which sometimes gets a little loud and obnoxious, but for some reason, I liked it here. Service was good, but the star of this show was the food. This may have been the best fajita platter I've had in a long time. The location is a bit out of the way for us, so I'm not sure how soon we'll return, but this really was a great meal in every respect.

Whenever I'm up in this area looking for a place to grab a meal, I always forget about Main Event,…read morea pub & grill on 96th Street not to be confused with 82nd Street's Main Event Entertainment complex. Today, I finally drove down this way BEFORE making a decision about having a late lunch and decided to give the place a try. Main Event sits in a rather long strip center that also houses a Dunkin Donuts, Rita's Frozen Ices, and most recently added a new spot for Sweetie's Gourmet Treats. There's accessible parking almost directly in front of Main Event and a curb cut fairly close. The front door is a glass, 2-sided door that is fairly maneuverable from a wheelchair. You then have a bar area to the right with some more traditional tables toward the back. The only place that a person in a wheelchair could really dine here would be toward the back. There's also a gaming section to the left and a stage area for live music also toward the left. They are known for offering pay-per-view type events along with NFL Ticket games and other sporting events. I arrived about 2pm, well after the traditional lunch hour but it didn't seem to throw them off. Eryn, whom I believe was also working the bar, saw me quickly and visited my table with a friendly demeanor. I always feel weird sitting away from most customers, but most bars are not wheelchair friendly and, in all honesty, I'm not there to socialize. They have a fairly extensive menu, though it's definitely more of your usual pub & grill type sandwiches. I was tempted to try a breaded tenderloin on behalf of fellow Yelper Rick G., but opted for my usual burger. It comes with chips for $7 - you can upgrade to fries for another $1.50. I also ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. The ambience? It's a bar. Several people have mentioned the smoking. I have to be honest. Even as a non-smoker, I didn't even notice it. However, even recent reviews mention it's a smoking bar. So, I'll trust that's correct and advise you to act accordingly. I will note that probably only a dozen customers were in there at the time I visited - that may have made it more tolerable. There was background music that was audible but not overwhelming, while widescreen televisions were playing sporting events in the silence. I like the occasionally bar atmosphere and, quite honestly, I found it rather enjoyable. I've seen some reviews call this a "dive" bar. I honestly wouldn't call it a dive, though it's certainly a neighborhood bar. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to dine here, though I guess on this occasion I actually did. The burger was delivered as ordered and was a generous sized slab o' beef. It was cooked close to medium, not quite my preference, but the toasted bun made everything alright. I stuck with chips and enjoyed them quite a bit. The meal was definitely a solid value. My iced tea was refilled without my having to ask and I was given room to linger. While there's typically a modest delay when you dine at a table in a pub setting, Eryn was friendly and welcoming and I never felt forgotten. While it seemed like everyone else was drinking, I never felt out of place having a fairly traditional meal. Overall, this really worked for me. As a non-smoker, I wasn't bothered by the atmosphere but that could change with a bigger crowd. While seating options for a wheelchair are modestly limited and a bigger crowd may impact navigation, this is certainly an easily workable lunch option and I found those present to be pretty friendly to this stranger. This was what I was in the mood for and both Eryn and Main Event delivered a winning experience for me. If in the area, I'll definitely go back.

We were graciously greeted by two pleasant hosts and shown to our table after a short wait. As soon as we were seated, I was given a birthday card and well wishes. Shortly after, our waiter, Eric, came by to introduce himself. He wished me a happy birthday, told me to save room for dessert because it was on him and then proceeded to tell us about the history of the restaurant, the food they specialize in, the night specials, and his recommendations before taking our drink order. Eric really made the night special for me with his professionalism and obvious pride in the restaurant. He is truly top notch and we will ask to be seated in his section when we return and I highly recommend him if you desire great service. Now the food... Eric recommended the Oyster Rockefeller and Calamari for starters. They were both delicious! For entrees, I had the prime strip steak, fries, and Caesar salad. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and seasoned just right. The sides were good as well. My husband had the ribeye, mashed potatoes, navy bean soup, and wedge salad. His steak was cooked to perfection and he absolutely loved his chosen sides. My daughter had the king crab sushi roll, which she rated a 7/10. Now, on to dessert. Eric told us his favorite is the key lime pie. I love a good key lime pie so I ordered it. In fact, I always order key lime pie if it's on the menu where ever we dine. Of all the pies I've had in recent years, it was the truly the best with perfectly balanced key lime with a brûlée-d top. My daughter had the coconut cream pie and my husband had the bread pudding. We all agreed the desserts were scrumptious. We had a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant has a great vibe, service was brisk without a single thing being overlooked. The service - exceptional. We ordered the lemon drop martini, Elmo Cola, the Gatsby and liquid love affair. I asked for the liquid love affair to have a very light pour of alcohol and they obliged. Everyone loved their drinks. Even me. And I am NOT a drinker. We ordered shrimp cocktails, lobster bisque, steaks and lobster. Everything so good. My son's steak was overdone but they happily remade it and ALL the sides that came with it. Just immaculate service. We also ordered the chocolate mousse pie. We asked our server to place the candles we had brought on top. Lemme tell you. The service. Just so good. She realized they were sparkler candles so she waited to light it until she was at our table. We did ask the manager if we could present our son his gift during dinner. It was a firearm and we didn't wanna cause any drama or "unsafe" feelings even though, obvi, it wouldn't have been loaded. We did want to respect the establishment and their other patrons. He kindly declined and, of course, we understood. Can we talk about service? Just so exceptional. Customer service for me will make or break any experience. The bills was... A LOT. Even AFTER they comped everything the birthday boy had ordered. But even if they hadn't comped ANYTHING... I always believe in paying good money for good food. The place was clean. The bathroom clean. And there is a lot for parking. Just the best time was had.

It's such an intimate performance area, and the sound and lighting are great. They have open mic nights here every week, and I can see myself coming back in the future to listen to more music. This is the "mothership" B&B -- the OG. I've been to some of the other Books & Brews around Indy before they closed, and this one definitely feels like an original. It's very ... lived in, let's say. The layout makes no sense, and there's a lot of stuff everywhere. But it's a cozy space, and lots of people, including families with young kids, were there when I visited. I like that there are "third places" like this that adults and kids can visit to to play games and eat and have a beer. (The adults have a beer! Sorry, kids.) The food at any Books & Brews has never been my favorite. In fact, I usually avoid it altogether and just get beer. But this time, my drink of choice was kombucha, and I got an "Oliver Twist," which is a soft pretzel with beer cheese. That reminds me: The food and beverages on their menu have silly little literary names. You have to know something about me: When I see silly little names on menus for ordinary food items, a switch turns on inside me and I become a defiant brat. I will never play along and say "The Girl with the Chicken Nuggie Tattoo" instead of "chicken nuggets" or "A Tale of Two Piggies" instead of "the ham and bacon sandwich." Nope. It's not happening. And when I ordered the "soft pretzel" instead of the "Oliver Twist," they understood me just fine. There is a huge wall of shelves filled with board games that you can grab and play at your table. There had to have been at least 50 or 60 different games. They also have lots of new board games for sale, as well as things like Magic the Gathering decks, Pokemon cards, Funko and geeky swag. Oh! And, of course, they have lots and lots of books, new and used. I couldn't tell if they were arranged with any rhyme or reason. So if you're looking for something specific, you might have better luck finding it elsewhere. But if you're looking to let destiny choose your next read, you might want to pop into Books & Brews and let the B&B powers-that-be guide you to the perfect book.
