Cinco de Mayo- I wish I could show a picture of my food but after waiting 3 hours, I never got it. I had a reservation at 6:30 and I arrived at 6:39 but the front was so slammed with people, it took a second to be acknowledged and ultimately shown to our table. The hostess was nice. That's truly the only good part was the waitstaff. I ended up putting in my order after the drinks took forever to arrive and then I waited and waited and waited. I'd say I put my food order in at 7 and I ended up canceling my order at 9:56. I never got anything and it was astonishing because food was coming out of the kitchen but not mine. Although this was on Cinco de Mayo, there needed to be a way better system. The drinks were also overpriced. There was a nice DJ and ambiance but I came to eat and didn't get that so 1 star.

El Toro Prime is probably one of my favorite places for margaritas in the city. Such a cool atmosphere and really beautiful drinks. The reservations for our group of 30 were easy to make online about a week prior, and everything was set up perfectly when we arrived. The $50 deposit was applied to my bill as planned. The server did a wonderful job with a smile on her face the whole time. Friendly staff, cool atmosphere, and strong drinks are always a crowd pleaser. The birria tacos and guacamole are my go to favorites here! I was so excited when they arrived to the table, that I devoured them before taking pictures. I'll just have to go back again for pics... oh darn!

The ambience is nice. Cool vibes with the dj. Drinks are good. Flights are $65. Service was slow with bringing items to the table. The appetizer queso dip added ground beef was running not a thick consistency. Very bland. Order the fajita steak. Tough and not season. Pricey. For 2 ppl. 2 entrees. Shared appetizer. 2 drinks. $206. With added gratuity automatically.

El Toro is a great upscale Mexican spot in north side Indy. The atmosphere is the best, the decor inside makes for a fun dinner spot and looks like they have live music (we went early so they didn't have it, but I saw a music set up and instruments). I ordered the steak tacos and was full with just 2 of the 3 we received. My group also loved the chicken fajitas, very fresh flavor in everything. Service was top notch as well! I was impressed overall, definitely recommend

My friend ordered the flight of frozen margaritas and it comes in this cute truck!

I think people need to go see how cool this place is inside. Just went back last night and sat in the bar area or cantina side. Gustavo was our server and he was awesome! The ambiance is such a vibe. I had the shrimp tacos and they were so fresh! Also tried the la Rosa drink this time and loved it! I will say, I think the lights give off entirely too much heat on this side because we were all super warm and it was way cooler on here other side. Hopefully they can adjust the strength of those bulbs!

The ambience and decor of this place has an upscale feel. We went here for their Sunday brunch. The menu items for brunch were very innovative. Our server, David, was very helpful with the menu items. I ordered the chilaquiles with steak and eggs over easy. Chilaquiles is a traditional Mexican breakfast dish consisting of: fried corn tortilla pieces simmered with salsa or mole and typically topped with cheese and other accompaniments (such as refried beans, sliced onions, shredded cheese and eggs) I added steak to mine and it was seasoned well and tender. Overall, a great dining experience.

I saw pictures on Yelp of the trees in the bar/main dining room and it reminded me so much of a restaurant my friends and I went to in New Orleans so of course I had to stop in. Plus I've been to two other El Toro locations and the food is always great. This location is a little more upscale than at least the Southport Road location, but still has that cool vibe and signature firework drinks. This time, I had the chilaquiles verdes with chicken. It was delicious! And the portion size was huge. My brother had the Carne Azada skillet from the brunch menu. The portion was much smaller on that dish but still delicious and beautifully plated. You can't go wrong with either dish. We also split the choriqueso which was delicious. They brought two complimentary salsas as well. The smaller of the two was some sort of roasted salsa was my favorite. So good! There were so many other things on the menu that looked delicious so I'm sure we'll be back!

I went here with an extremely large group during the day and we had a private area. The space was bright, dishes and tables were tidy and well prepared, the floor was extremely clean, the food was good and the service was spectacular, especially given what a large party we were. I highly recommend.

We had no idea what to expect when we walked in, it was a Sunday night and there were about 9 of us looking to get a drink for one of my girlfriend's birthdays! It was later and an hour till close. The staff was amazing and we had a wonderful time. It was so fun and high energy!! Thank you to Carolina and to Laura for taking such amazing care of us, we will be back!

No. Or at least when we went no. Food was bland. Service was so so. One of the group members didn't like their meal (only one meal) and she asked for a refund they gave a discount. Looked and smelled good but was just not it. The margaritas were great though. Definitely probably tastes better drunk

This has to be one of the best hidden gems in Indianapolis. The drinks are absolutely top tier. The vibes at night are truly like a nightclub. With that being said, I don't recommend children coming here on the weekend evenings. The service is hit or miss. We've had great service and we've had extremely slow service. I do worry that the location will hurt the business as it's pretty random. The food has been decent for the most part. This is a place to take your girlfriends for a birthday celebration!

Food and atmosphere was great! Shout out to Carolina for being so attentive and sweet!

I was excited to visit El Toro Prime after seeing several interior photos of the restaurant. It visually did not disappoint. The decor has unique features from the beautiful greenery and unique lighting to the Dia de Muertos, Day of the Day, murals on the walls in several areas. The main bar area is warm, inviting with unique lighting and comfortable chairs. Watch for the fog coming from the base of the trees. Also, don't miss the back bar area. My husband noted it was an attractive decor but found his Chimichanga unmemorable, and he didn't come for the decor. He had requested they replace the cheese sauce with red sauce but left it off. By the time the server returned, he had already started eating after adding the table salsa, which he wasn't impressed with. Oh, and draft beer is not available here, only bottled beer. I, on the other hand, had the gorgeous bar decor plus Mexican French Toast and enjoyed it very much. The bread was lightly grilled with raspberry, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas between the slices of bread. Nutella was drizzled over the French Toast and served with Tres Leches syrup. The fruit was very fresh, and I loved the touch of Nutella with the fruit and bread. My only recommendation would be to add a side of bacon. Yes, many items are expensive on the menu. However, you can find several items under $20. We came at lunch, served daily 11:00 - 3:00, 7 days a week. Our server was great, but he did get busy right after we arrived. Our water remained full, our cocktails replaced when requested, and dirty dishes were removed promptly. I'll be returning to try several other items on the menu, but I'm not sure if my husband will return.

In fact, they have five different spritzes on the menu, which I love to see. Of course, they have the classic Aperol spritz. But they also have some creative takes, like the rose spritz, which is what I chose. It was very tasty, light and refreshing, and not too floral, which can happen with a rose-flavored beverage. Spritzes are amazing but not enough sometimes, so I also got a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Yum! The pour was generous. I kept my drink orders simple this visit, but Thieves has a whole menu full of creative cocktails. What you do when you enter is just sit down, and someone will come by and take your order. But if you're visiting for coffee (because Thieves is also a coffee bar), you can order at the counter. I don't recall if they offer food. This is mostly a place to get drinks. And it's a lovely place to get drinks. Thieves is located in the heart of Broad Ripple, which means that parking is atrocious. The humidor attendant was helpful and patient with the members of our party that didn't really know what they wanted. We were seated at a long table near the bar, though we took up a couple of smaller tables as well. They do a phenomenal job of air quality management, even though there were a ton of people smoking, the air seemed quite clean, enough so that a non-smoker would probably be comfortable hanging out with a friend who was smoking without being uncomfortable. Though they only have a small selection of beer, they did have some fairly good options. I had a Goose Island Cherries Jubilee Bourbon County Stout (quite nice), and a Camacho cigar. I didn't have any food on this visit, but the menu did look promising, even if a bit over priced. Overall this is a very nice spot for a cigar and a drink, I will likely be back when in Indy again!

We ordered the lemon drop martini, Elmo Cola, the Gatsby and liquid love affair. I asked for the liquid love affair to have a very light pour of alcohol and they obliged. Everyone loved their drinks. Even me. And I am NOT a drinker. We ordered shrimp cocktails, lobster bisque, steaks and lobster. Everything so good. My son's steak was overdone but they happily remade it and ALL the sides that came with it. Just immaculate service. We also ordered the chocolate mousse pie. We asked our server to place the candles we had brought on top. Lemme tell you. The service. Just so good. She realized they were sparkler candles so she waited to light it until she was at our table. We did ask the manager if we could present our son his gift during dinner. It was a firearm and we didn't wanna cause any drama or "unsafe" feelings even though, obvi, it wouldn't have been loaded. We did want to respect the establishment and their other patrons. He kindly declined and, of course, we understood. Can we talk about service? Just so exceptional. Customer service for me will make or break any experience. The bills was... A LOT. Even AFTER they comped everything the birthday boy had ordered. But even if they hadn't comped ANYTHING... I always believe in paying good money for good food. The place was clean. The event takes place on the patio area, it's small and intimate. It is great for networking and mingling and making new connections. The staff was absolutely amazing and engaged with the crowd the entire night. I felt the vibe that they really love their job. They don't let you know about the menu prior to , which I was a bit apprehensive about but it turned out great! For starters we had some chunky guac, watermelon pico, and some kind of verde salsa with chips. 10/10! The Watermelon pico was new to me and very refreshing!! Next we had some steak fajitas with rice. I was not a fan of the rice and the steak wasn't seasoned to my liking but still a good dish! Lastly we had dessert that put me in the mind of being at the state fair. It was a pastry fried (think like funnel cake taste) and fruit ...so yummy! Now the margaritas! Enjoy as much it as little as you like! I loved experimenting and trying different combos. My favorite was the mango spicy flavor! They said they have these events quarterly or so and I can't wait to go to the next one!

I had the gumbo and recalled it being yummy but again I was starving. Fast forward, I finished my nail appointment in ripple and had t eaten so I thought I give them a try. I got there early as the kitchen doesn't open until 5(not for sure if that's everyday). So I had a 15-20 minute wait which was totally okay with me. I asked my server which should I get: burger or wings and she suggested burger and I got the gumbo. The burger was underwhelming. Nothing special and the patty could have been a little thicker. I did appreciate the freshness of the burger salad. I like to cut my burgers. So I got up from my area and walked to the bar to ask for one. Didn't mind that at all but this is where I have a side eye. My server gets up and is like "I believe there are some back here" referring to their patio area. Proceeds to point in that direction and doesn't grab it for me. Smh. I remind her about the gumbo she apologizes and comes back out with it about 10 min or so later. The gumbo indeed was tasty. Has a nice kick that's not too much. However I could have used more meat. I had 4 quartered sausages only. The gumbo was my favorite and I'd return there for that. My rating is based on the spotty service. While she checked in on me, having me grab my Own knife after she got up did not sit well especially since at the time I was the only person there. And also the burger itself wasn't super filling.
