I was in town for a company holiday party at Harry and Izzy's across the street, and once the party was over about 10-15 of us decided to continue the evening at Blend for a couple of drinks and a cigar. They were very accommodating to such a large group, many of whom are not really cigar smokers. At the back of the space is a large bar with an equally large humidor behind it. The humidor attendant was helpful and patient with the members of our party that didn't really know what they wanted. We were seated at a long table near the bar, though we took up a couple of smaller tables as well. They do a phenomenal job of air quality management, even though there were a ton of people smoking, the air seemed quite clean, enough so that a non-smoker would probably be comfortable hanging out with a friend who was smoking without being uncomfortable. Though they only have a small selection of beer, they did have some fairly good options. I had a Goose Island Cherries Jubilee Bourbon County Stout (quite nice), and a Camacho cigar. I didn't have any food on this visit, but the menu did look promising, even if a bit over priced. Overall this is a very nice spot for a cigar and a drink, I will likely be back when in Indy again! read more

The placed looked upscale but had a casual vibe. Huge multi screen tv, great for catching a game. Staff was very friendly. I've purchased hundreds of Davidoff cigars from Blend over the years, I usually buy boxes. In fact, I currently have more than 400 Davidoff cigars in a Humidor which I affectionately call my "Davidoffidor". Almost all of them were purchased from Blend. Although I have purchased hundreds of cigars from them, I haven't frequented the lounge that often, maybe 10 times. Here's the break-up...their employee wasn't pleased that I lit up a cigar not purchased from them, even though I made him aware that I've purchased 100's of cigars from them previously - including 6 the week before ($200). I had one of those sticks with me, but my wife asked me to smoke the smaller of the two cigars I brought. I also pointed out that we already purchased $30 worth of drinks. (FYI - $30 gets you an Old Fashioned and a cup of coffee) His response was "I'll let you finish this time" and "you can't smoke here without a cut fee". (He didn't explain what a cut-fee is) I then pointed to the DD cigar I bought the week before and asked "what would your reaction be if I were smoking that one?" He said "I would give you the benefit of the doubt." "We have rules and you know them." Well, in fact I didn't know them, I still don't...but I also have rules. Don't treat me like that. I avoid places where staff uses phrases like "we have rules", I'm not a 21 yo frat boy burning a cigar to death. Most importantly, I don't pay people to treat me that way. This is one of me and my husband's favorite place. Somehow this place is able to pull off being comfortable for all people, even if you aren't a cigar smoker. They have lounge chairs but also high top tables and bar seating. They have an amazing wine list, cocktails and premium liquor. They also have a small food selection but we typically go after we have eaten for a night cap. Oh it's a cigar bar so I should mention their state of the art humidor. I have no idea how many cigars that place can hold but out of all cigar bars in the city they have the most selection and it's very well laid out. There is a guy named Richard that knows his sh*t let me tell you. You just walk in and say kinda what you like and he will offer you something amazing. Oh and Richard is so good he has a drink named after him called Project R, tell him i sent you! Afraid it's gonna be too smokey? Don't be. They invested lots of money to ensure you don't walk out smelling like a cloud of smoke. Their air filtration system is amazing. The crowd and vibe is super chill, all sorts of ethnicies, all types of people jjst a really nice place. Ladies it can get a little cold in there so totally recommend bringing a jacket of some sort. It can be a little pricey depending on the type of cigar you purchase and drink but we just know that going in and are prepared. My only complaint is I the music. Moving here from Miami I missed the cigar lounge scene. I had the pleasure of checking this place out after dinner. When I walked in I didn't feel like I was in Indiana. I felt like I had been transported back to the south. Danielle was our waitress (she was wonderful) and she cool. For drinks she recommended the espresso martini... VERY good ! We also had a few bourbons that were also good. We watched the Pacers game then after that the same loop of pictures kept playing so there was nothing to watch after that. The music was good and it's roomy enough to where you don't feel cramped. I also didn't feel like I was obeing suffocated with smoke. I been to lounges like that... My first cigar was too small for my liking and I couldn't pull any creamy flavors from it. I think it was called the Avo classic. I went to a bigger one that will be discontinued soon. I think it was called the gusto toro. It was good but next time we will get something with a stronger blend. You really have to try different cigars to see what will work for you. It depends on your palate and your mood. I LOVED the bathroom!! There's something about a lovely bathroom with from flowers from a local business that impressed me... it was clean, private and inviting. So when you're there GO TO THE BATHROOM! Lol If you're use to Cuban cigars then you'll be slightly judgmental (insert me) but I know I'm in a different city so flavor and quality will vary. I stopped in the early afternoon to try a cigar and bourbon. I have preferences in both but wanted to expand my horizons. At the door I was warmly greeted by Achmed who directed me to the bar and said to let him know if he could help me in any way. He also told me that the bartender was Brian. Brian also gave me a warm greeting and we got down to business. I explained my cigar and bourbon preferences and asked what he might recommend along those lines. He recommended "Horse Soldiers" bourbon and the Smokey Jacket "Henka" cigar. Brian poured the bourbon and Achmed retrieved the cigar from the humidor. Achmed also cut and toasted the cigar and lit it for me. Both recommendations were excellent for my tastes. Brian answered many questions I posed about bourbon and cigars as I enjoyed them. This was a great experience because of both of these gentlemen and their excellent recommendations. I will be back! read more

Blend is amazing if you're a newbie or a veteran to the cigar lounge world. Upon walking in, you feel like a high roller. I'm new to cigars, but my husband is an enthusiast. They have a wide open space, luxurious chairs, and a great selection of cigars. If you've never been inside a cigar lounge, you'd probably expect it to smell heavily of cigars. Blend doesn't! They turn over the entire volume of air in the building several times a day! Did you know that most buildings and even your home doesn't do that? It's really incredible, and honestly, it's one of the safest places to be during COVID because the air is not recirculating like most places. The service is great! I didn't know what I wanted, and since Blend is a partner with Davidoff Cigars, you can't go wrong. Davidoff is high end, and you will be spoiled for other cigars for a while. I'm a lady, and I wanted a smaller cigar because I just didn't feel comfortable with typical sizes yet. (Note: it doesn't really matter because flavor matters more!) Anyway, I am usually better with names, but our attendant was great in helping us select something. He then cut it, toasted the foot, and helped us light our selections. The chairs are very cool. A few of them have a sort of canopy so you can have a conversation with someone on the opposite end of the table! Such a vast amount of cigars, I was given great explanation on the best! This is my second cigar bar that I have been to in the city. The first one was Niki blanes which I loved, but I'm always looking to try something new so this was a good place to do so! Just located up on 82nd street next to the old Joe's Crab Shack you can find blend. It's very open, spacious and has interesting decorations! The back is the humidor so you go in to pick out your cigar and then you can sit at a table or at the bar to get a drink. Very friendly staff! I was impressed at the time they took to answer questions or just make conversation. Can't have a cigar without a good drink! I'm a seasonal drinker so I tend to stick with the lighter liquors during these months. One of the tastiest martinis I've had in a long time! It seemed like they didn't really want us or our business. Maybe it was a bad day or maybe we got one of their employees while he was in a bad mood. I went to Blend with high hopes. I'm not often in Indy with time to spare, but was finally able to squeeze in a visit this trip. The selection is paltry, compared to the lounges I'm used to, and the prices much higher. The employee that waited on me was pretentious and judgmental. Believe me, I know cigars. I have hundreds in my humidors at home, years of experience, tons of knowledge, and am familiar with almost all brands. I mentioned that I do not care for a certain brand and their flavor profile, and he acted personally insulted. The only "good" cigar is the one YOU personally enjoy...not the one someone else tells you you should. So...it didn't smell like cigars inside, which is typically a good thing. The problem is this; there are two ways to deal with smoke. One is to filter the air, and the other is to exchange the air. Blend uses a combination of the two, but the bulk is apparently handled by exchange, rather than filtration. What this means is that they are pulling out smoke filled air, and exchanging it with fresh air from outside. That's fine if the weather is temperate, but not so much when it is cold outside...meaning that it is cold inside. Everyone in the lounge was wearing sweaters and jackets. I don't find that relaxing. I could been almost as comfortable smoking on my back porch with a little propane heater. I didn't drink, so I can't comment on their bar, although the scotch and bourbon menu seems more than adequate. For me, anyplace that has Laphroaig 10 is a good place. That said, they forbid me from bringing in my Starbucks coffee, saying it was a violation of health codes. I have been to more than 2 dozen cigar lounges all over Indiana and have never been told I could not bring coffee in. I was told that if I wanted coffee I would have to buy it from them. Now while I would never try to bring my own cigar into a lounge, or my own alcohol, forbidding coffee just seems a bit much. But whatever. Their policy is their policy. That's their right. Just don't try to BS me with the health department. On the upside, the place is clean, attractive, and well appointed. The seating is comfortable, and I can see why it would be a nice place to bring a date, or someone you want to impress. If I am back in Indy with time to kill I would probably check out another lounge or two before coming back here, although I am not saying I will never return. If I do, however, return, it will be for the social aspects, not for the cigars or snarky attitudes. read more

It's the place to go outside of the city hustle to grab a great cigar, food, and drinks... you can enjoy the huge walk in humidor, then rest in one of the many lounge chairs...you can smoke inside (great ventilation) or outside (it's hot outside). Although this is a slight chain, that doesn't take away from the personalization of the staff. They make you feel at home. They're always helpful with cigar recommendations and alcohol pairings.
