Popped in for a night cap after hanging out downtown and it was an awesome place. I had not been here in forever! I love the set up, it has a small humidor for cigars and you can enjoy them inside or out on the balcony. Just as a forewarning, and not a complaint the circulation isn't stellar inside, so if you are sensitive to that try and sit outside. I had a delicious martini called the dirty geisha, I'm a big martini fan and this was so smooth, and just all around tasty. We also split some awesome sushi! It was a great array of flavors, fresh and the topping was warm! Which I had never had before. Service is stellar, everyone is friendly and attentive without being overbearing which I'm a big fan of. The new location would have to be the downfall.. the old location was better, used to have an outside rooftop area and even though it was small it had an exclusive and upscale feel to it. Fun little cigar bar with a neat patio/ rooftop perfect for watching sunset. 4 stars because the food here is just okay and overpriced, but it's worth coming to just sit outside and enjoy the vibes. It's usually pretty empty and you're almost always guaranteed a spot outside. I could not sit indoors as it smells of cigar smoke but that is kind of the definition of a cigar bar. They have a huge selection of cigars and a large cocktail menu. We got "Ass on Fire" Moscow Mules which were spicy and almost tasted like Fireball but more eloquent. Great place to hang with friends or for a date night. It is a neighborhood type of spot, nice and intimate with substantial seating indoor and out. They also have TV's running. I didn't smoke a cigar but I did have the Steak Sliders and Fries with an Agave Margarita (I think that is what the name of the drink was called). Just ask for the cocktail with the agave. It was bomb.com. The food was a win as well. I will always return to this spot when I want a chill spot to hang. Please remember you will smell like a cigar when you leave even if you don't smoke. Small but perfect cigar lounge. When we walked in we were greeted and seated immediately to a nice comfortable table. Ordered drinks which came rather quickly as well as our cigars which were perfectly cut and lit for the lady. The music was on point from the time I walked in until the time I left. Wasn't too loud where you had to yell. As we talked the waiter came over and attended to my lady's cigar that needed to be relit which was a 1st for us. This place is an absolute gem! Discovered it while in Indianapolis for this year's Indy 500. Apparently it's been open at this location since the fall. It's not very large but is tastefully decorated and has a nice outdoor patio. It's one of the few places I've been to where you can enjoy food, drinks snd smoke a cigar! They have a solid Asian inspired menu which includes a sushi selection. I tried the chicken fried rice and the teriyaki skewers on separate visits and both were excellent. Service is very attentive and accommodating. Cigar selection is pretty good and pricing is reasonable. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the "trifecta" of a night out (food, drinks and a cigar), this should be your go to place! read more

Have you ever been to a place when you're doing a review, and decided to go back a second time to sample more of the menu? I did just that with Stixx. Thursday night I went in and had pho with a friend of mine. He is not a smoker, so we didn't stay very long. We did however stay long enough to enjoy a huge bowl of pho. The chef uses his mother'a meatball recipe and they simmer the savory broth for about 5 hours. It is honestly one of the best bowls of pho I have ever had. The broth and savory the flank steak and meatballs are delicious, it does not have the tripe that some people object to. This does not impact the quality of the pho or the flavor. Everything is very fresh and delightful. The bowls are huge, so bring your appetite!! Tonight I went back solo. It is at this point that I should tell you that this is not only a top-quality Asian restaurant, but also one of the finest cigar bars that I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot of them. If you want to watch the big game they have four flat panel tVs that will allow you to watch whatever you want. Tonight I watched Alabama beat on Mizzou. The staff, including the bartender Ben, are very attentive. I cannot say enough about the kind hearted and beautiful wait staff, Kim was my waitress along with another young lady whose name I forget, but she was absolutely wonderful, too. Tonight I started with the Vietnamese summer rolls I had one of shrimp and another a barbecue pork, the pork was a powerhouse of flavor. The shrimp was fresh and the rolls were crisp and delightful. I then moved on to the ahi tuna appetizer, one of the best that I've had. I am not damning these people with false praise, the food is just that good. I then had the most unique preparation of steak that I have ever experienced. Steak Tisho is filet mignone sliced paper thin and presented raw with butter and garlic. The server then "cooks it" with a torch at table side. This is not a ribeye, it is a small portion maybe 3 ounces at most, it is packed with flavor and is delightful, so much so that it melts in your mouth. The entire experience was fantastic. Now word about their drinks list, they appear to have every type of scotch known to man. I had a 14-year-old Oban that was incredible. It was the perfect accompaniment to the cigar I had. It was a La Aurora Puro, and was from a limited series of 1000 boxes. Very impressive. Later I had a glass of Talisker with a nice Arturo Fuente. Ben is a cigar lover and we talked about the smokes in the humidor. Everything in the bar was top shelf. The humidor was extensive. I will be back again and again. read more

I went here one evening just to sit outside and enjoy some time out of the house. It's a great idea and there's great ambiance at this place. There's plenty of seating outside on their balcony area - patio couches and chairs/tables. I shouldn't have expected more with the food seeing as the cigars are the main attraction - but I thought it would be better. The fried rice was not good at all. I don't know how the chicken was cooked but it overpowered the rice. I couldn't finish any of it. The burgers tasted straight from a package. None of it was worth the calories. I had a mixed drink (equivalent to a rum + pineapple drink) and it was just meh. I was very excited to hear that a new Asian-inspired restaurant was opening within walking distance of my office. I was over the moon to find out that photos would be on the menu (I am a fan of any kind of Asian noodle soup). I had to come try their bowl. The broth had decent flavor and the noodles were not mushy, but the portion size was quite small. The bowl cost $10 and I understand the rent is somewhat higher here (than at 38th & Lafayette or Carmel) due to the downtown location and tobacco license, but how much more would it rally be to add a little broth, and some noodles and serve it in adult-sized bowl like the dozens of other places I've had phone around the country? Service was fast and friendly enough, but I just can't get past the tiny bowl I received. Note: If you are sensitive to smoke (I am not at all), this is NOT the place for you. Even though the upstairs is billed as the cigar lounge, smoking is permitted throughout. "I was wrong" is what I had to admit to a friend who told me a cigar lounge had good sushi. Come on ...who in their right mind would think, "yeah let's get some sushi from a cigar lounge!" I got the spicy crab and I believe salmon roll. It was lightly fried and had a sweet/spicy spice. It was awesome and came with 6 or 8 pieces. The service was good but if you bring your own cigar there is a $5 cut charge. I'm fine with that, especially since the service was wonderful! Only suggestion is they need a better filtration system. Smokier than other cigar lounges I've visited in Indy. Also, they have an elevator too. The main entrance is a steep flight of stairs that are too dark for me especially after a few drinks. read more

It's a very relaxing environment and they have soft jazz playing which adds a nice touch. Nice outdoor seating area and large tables inside. We enjoyed the pho which was pretty good. It didn't come out steaming like I'm use to but had great flavor. My husband enjoyed the sliders which had amazing flavor and tender steak. I just suggest they use a different bread it was very soggy holding all the meat and onion juice. The food is delicious but just because it's very smoky I will probably just order take out read more

Stixx was a really unique concept and restaurant. They have two floors with the top floor being a cigar bar. The first floor was complete with tv's, a wine cellar, and a cool fireplace. The Pho was extremely flavorful and came with all of the expected fixings such as sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeños. It definitely hit the spot on a chilly Indiana night. We thoroughly enjoyed the sushi rolls. My favorite was the hot blonde roll. It had a nice crunch and spiciness due to the jalapeños. Lastly, we had the delicious crab. It was cooked in this garlicky, creamy buttery sauce that just thinking about it is making my mouth water. They made eating crab a breeze, because the shell was precut for us. This place is pretty close to perfection. Good food with an Asian flair, a wide variety of liquors and cocktails, and it's cigar-friendly! You can eat, drink, and smoke inside or outside. While the inside looked cool, it's not very large. The outside deck, on the other hand, is spacious with comfortable seating. The waitresses were friendly and attractive, and the bar manager, Ben, went out of his way to check on the patrons and have a brief conversation with everyone. I enjoyed a RoMa Craft cigar, which was priced accordingly, and I had a poke' bowl with salmon. The only ding on this place is that they were out of Blanton's bourbon, but I ordered a Booker's and all was well. They don't have a huge humidor, but they have a mid to high end selection, including some craft sticks. Their food was out of this world. Seriously, I want the recipe for that poke'. Their bourbon selection was mid range, so I'd like to see a little higher-end selection. That being said, their prices were right in line with other bars, which is impressive given that there cigar friendly and have a more captive audience. I was Indy for several meetings this past week. I wanted to go somewhere different and off of the beaten path so to speak. My good friend suggested this place since I like good bourbon, cigars and cuisine from Japan and China. This place did not disappoint one bit. The food was great and cooked to perfection. The bourbon list was extensive and priced very well. They also had a large walk in humidor with quite a selection of cigars to chose from if you wanted a good smoke. So disappointed.... Had not eaten all day. Came in to celebrate a friends birthday. Ordered tips, mojito and cigar. The tips came and were fried hard and were so old that they could not be eaten. I literally could not bit into it. I politely asked if I could switch the order for a salad or something in the same price range. Again, I haven't eaten all day. A gentlemen, whom I assume had some ownership. He let me know that they don't do that here and I would just have to deal with it and he would not be getting me anything else. Other people who have ordered liked the tips. I'm not sure when the other people ordered them, but the food he brought to me was VERY old, tough to chew and generally was not a good dish to serve a customer. The menu also did not mention that the tips would be fried. He was a very selfish and stingy person who does NOT need to be on the service industry. During these frigid winter days, my pho cravings have been at an all-time high. So when I learned that Stixx was opening up near my office, I was stoked. I finally had a chance to check it out for lunch, and the pho was underwhelming. I echo Peter P's review about the tiny portion size. For the price, I would've expected the standard large bowl size served at any other Vietnamese restaurant, and the side of bean sprouts and basil leaves was pitiful. There were only 10 sprouts and 4 tiny basil leaves, which would perhaps satisfy a hummingbird. No one mentioned anything like, "We can get you more - just let us know," so I was too self-conscious to request for seconds (or in this case, probably more like fifths). The pho itself was good, though not memorable. The broth was light but still had good flavor without being overly salty. They were a bit skimpy with the protein, but I suppose that is just me being a greedy, hungry customer. (But seriously, would throwing in only 2 more meatballs hurt?) Bottom line: If I'm in a bind and need to get my pho on in downtown, then Stixx will minimally get the job done. Otherwise, King Wok near 38th & Lafayette is WAY better! read more
