We stopped in on Saturday evening with another couple as a spur-of-the-moment way to wind down what had been a really nice night out. The start of the visit there was positive; the security was friendly, welcoming and set a great tone for the location. The hostess got us seated without any issues and was able to put us at a table with better ventilation. Once we were seated, the experience became more inconsistent. My boyfriend ordered a Booker's for himself and an Eagle Rare for me. While he was in the humidor, our waitress informed him they were out of the Booker's and suggested Blanton's as a similar-priced alternative, which he agreed to. Later, he tried to order another bourbon in a similar price range based on the menu, but that was also unavailable, and E.H. Taylor was suggested instead. In both cases, pricing for the substitutions was not discussed, and neither substitute was listed on the menu we were given (via QR code). Service was minimal after ordering. Our waters were not refilled, and it took multiple attempts to get the waitress's attention despite it not being very busy. We eventually had to ask the hostess for help getting the check. The total for three bourbon pours came to $141 before tip. The receipt showed $30 for Eagle Rare (listed at $22 on the menu), $35 for Blanton's, and $65 for E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof. The main concern was the lack of clear pricing or menu visibility for the substitutions at the time they were recommended. A friend at the table was told, after ordering a second bourbon on the rocks, that ice cubes are $2, which was not listed on the menu. We didn't raise concerns before paying, because we didn't want to make a scene and were hoping to just finish the last part of the evening on a positive note. After paying, our server came back to ask if everything was okay, and the concerns about pricing were briefly shared. The response was that prices are not typically discussed when suggesting alternatives so as not to be offensive. Regarding atmosphere, the space itself is visually well done, but the room was noticeably smokier than expected for a cigar lounge with air circulation. Staff also appeared to be dressed more casually than anticipated for the setting. Overall, while the venue has a strong initial impression, the lack of communication around pricing and substitutions, combined with limited service and inconsistency in execution, made this a frustrating way to end an otherwise great night. read more

This is a cigar lounge, so it is very smoky inside. They have a live DJ on Saturday nights. The inside is large with a huge bar in the middle, and other seats around. They have an upstairs, which I got to experience on this night, it was VIP area. I found out they have free coat check when you are in the VIP area which is convenient. The bar upstairs is really pretty, bartenders are quick and serving. It was pretty busy on this night, but they were attentive, and I didn't have any issues receiving my drinks or getting water which is a plus. The seats at the upstairs bar are comfy. Needing a lighter for the cigars is not a problem in this area, which is nice because usually downstairs they charge. It's a different vibe upstairs, so it was nice to experience it for the first time. They have a whole section to buy cigars which is neat. I don't know much about cigars, but I like browsing and learning. I'm not a big cigar person, but I'll sample it. I like the sweet ones. Restrooms are downstairs, and I really admire the women's restroom here, it's beautifully designed. Parking to get here is street or paid lot parking. We paid $20 to park at a lot across the street. If you've never been, this place is an experience! Depending on the time it's either a night club or a lounge. Cigars are cheaper here than Nicky Blaine's because of vertical integration, and the buildout is beautiful! The humidor has a very big assortment & they are very patient. read more

This was my first time going to BURN, and the inside vibe is cool. It's low lit, cozy and not too smokey considering it's a cigar bar. On first entrance it was nice walking right in, I'm not sure the point of security because nobody wanted us or patted us down, or even checked ID, which made for an easy entrance, but also scary. The scary part because some other person came in later creating a ruckus with his hand in his bag and considering they didn't wand or check us I can say I'm confident he didn't have a weapon in his bag. I will say security was on him quick and got him out of there fast but in my opinion I'm not sure how he got in being loud like that in the first place. They don't really have food they serve ramen noodles and it's only because at a cigar bar you have to serve food, so if you think you're going to be hungry eat before you come. I also highly recommend getting a receipt. We only had 5 old fashions between us and unless they are $30/drink the bartender tipped themselves a hell of a tip! I went online to try and check out prices and even there (although it says prices do change) there were not any bourbons at that price point. I'm not sure if I would go again, I might, it's definitely in a nice location downtown, but again I'm annoyed after looking at my bank account in the morning and seeing $150 worth of charges for 5 drinks......something isn't adding up so pay attention and get you receipt! read more

Every time I walked by BURN there are bouncers standing around, but don't let that deter you from going in. They are just there to be respectful and hold the doors open. BURN is probably one of the more classy establishments in the downtown core. It looks amazing on the inside. There is the main bar and additional spaces on both sides. Should you fancy yourself as a high roller, you can head upstairs to the balcony. Sometimes they have the upstairs rope off for private parties. BURN is indeed a cigar bar so know what to expect when you visit. The smoke isn't so bad during the week but can be intense on Friday/Saturday nights. I am not a cigar smoker but looking at their humidor they have a huge selection. And speaking of selection their spirits choices are second to none. I can't imagine they don't have your favorite whiskey or bourbon. They also have specialty cocktails and other drink choices. So, I am old. I know this now. I didn't know it until recently and I am grateful to have discovered this about myself. I won't go into the details here, but let's just say I saw a light. I went to clubs in San Francisco almost every weekend and was the guy who went to work on Monday morning with the wristband still on one arm and a faded stamp on the other arm. I have been to clubs in Las Vegas and New York. Man, I was on top of the world at one point in my life and it felt so incredibly amazing to be club guy. Now, fast forward to my mid 40's and I find this place. Somehow, it was a mix of all the places I had been in my glory years and of course, it's a cigar lounge too! I grubbed on a massive steak down the street (see my review for that spot because it's epic, if I do say so myself) and I was in the mood to burn a stogie. Mind you, in my 20's, I didn't even get in the shower til 10, but now? Shoot, bedtime is like 1030, 11 tops. So, I strolled over here around 8 and it was a little crowded, but nothing I couldn't handle. Lots of people seated in the outdoor seating area, drinking, talking, laughing and living. It was impressive indeed! They had the red velvet ropes set up, but nobody was waiting online, so I made a dash to the front to show my ID. It was similar to the red carpet events we see for the Oscars, but not when Zendeya shows up and all the cameras are poppin' and the hosts are dashing to get an interview. It was closer to, let's say, when Sandra Oh arrives and nobody cares, but they look because obviously someone was there. So, I show my ID and make my way indoors. The space is massive and there's a big bar right smack dab in the middle of the space. The music is blasting and 24 year old me starts dancin' to the beat, in my mind, not in real life and I make my way around to see where I am gonna hang. I follow one of the young waitresses as she brings a drink upstairs and I just wanna say "hey" and I decide to sit in the chairs just off the bar area, where they have sports on the TV's (lots of TV's) and I hang back for a bit. The waitress comes over and asks me if I want a drink, so I order a non-alcoholic beverage and ask if I can burn the cigars I brought with me. She says yes and that's good news. A lot of places prefer that you buy their cigars because it's a business and all. Extra points for that. As I sit, alone, and people watch, I realize that this is definitely a spot for people of all ages and experience levels. I saw the 30 somethin' female crew out for a night on the town. All dolled up and lookin' amazing. I saw lots and lots of couples enjoying their time out. I even saw fat golf polo shirt guys who clearly made their way here after either hitting the golf course (doubtful) or after the buffet (likely) tables. Staff was friendly, attentive, but not too much. Hostesses that I interacted with were super chill, all smiles, chatty and fun. The staff was also very helpful helping determine what kind of cigars we may like the best, as we aren't regular smokers. There's a full bar and a specialty cocktail menu. We used to love going in BURN to smoke a cigar & have some cocktails. Never a problem or discrepancy. There were 3 of us inside this past Saturday early evening. Victoria was our waitress at a table on the left hand side. We had 5 double crown & diet cokes. When I asked for the bill she said it was $180.00. I asked why so hight & she said $28.00 each for doubles. She didn't mention a tip so I added $40.00 for $220.00 total. No receipt or anyrhing!!! This was not counting what we spent on cigars! We went to our hotel & figured 5 drinks X $28.00 each is $140.00. Why did she say $180.00. Reading some of these other recent reviews I guess she added $40 gratuity which is more than 20% PLUS she let me give her $40.00 more because of it. She clearly took advantage. A group of us stopped in two weeks ago while in Indy. They opened the upstairs for us since the downstairs was full and did not have enough space to accommodate our group. Although overwhelmed, the bartenders provided great service and delicious drinks. I was the only one in my group who did not smoke a cigar but the selection and prices seemed decent based off the feedback of my friends. The only thing we all mentioned and complained about was it did not seem there was the same quality of ventilation as other cigar lounges I have visited. Burn's outdoor seating is perfect! Visited this location, for a drink and cigar. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside which was absolutely perfect. There are tables, but a long bar where probably 10 people can sit. We were facing the street so it's perfect for people watching while enjoying your cigar. There were a couple of females that came just to have a drink prior to going to the comedy show which was held right next door. This was such a classy place, went today after an event just to try something new and I enjoy cigars occasionally. The entryway wasn't overbearing with smoke like the typical cigar place. The service walking in was nice, drink order nice, when we stepped into the humidor the guy who's running it was so rude and stand offish I didn't even want to ask for a certain cigar. I ended up getting a really nice one, but his attitude needs improvement he was not very friendly. The rest of the staff were absolutely great and so attentive hence the 4 stars and the ambiance is 5 star in itself, I'd go back but hopefully he isn't the only one who runs the cigar room lol. read more

Had a great time here last week when I was town for the PRI convention. Sat at the bar in one of the most comfortable chairs. Good service from all the bartenders. One minor tweak needed...they use a QR code to bring up drink menu......but they do not have quite of few of the items on the list. I could see the bottles I wanted so not a big deal for me.
