This Review is for Friday April 9, 2021 So here is what we ordered 1 Caldo De Res Special 1 Pollo Torta 1 Tender Cactus 4 Pastor Tacos 4 Asada Taco 2 Tinga de Pollo Taco 1 Salsa & Chips 1 Grilled Serranos 1 Pico de Gallo 2 Rice and Beans 1 Verdes Enchilada (Chicken) 1 Aquas Frescas - Horchata (Rice Milk) 2 Dr. Pepper Only items forgotten were the 2 Dr Peppers for me. I do not feel this establishments does Quality Checks of their orders, or lets the delivery driver either as the Seamless Driver informed us they were not allowed to check our order. I feel when you are paying over a 100 dollares with tip, someone should be doing their job correctly, apparently the restaurant is not. It shows with the food presentation and flavor. So I will try and write a review on all items we ordered: Caldo De Res Special Instructions were to only pout the garnishments on the side(usually the cilantro, onion, and lime) they put the vegies in a cup too, I am glad on the mistake due to my discovery of freshness issues. The Veggies used are not fresh persay, potato might be as small diced as it was, but the carrots and broccoli is frozen then thawed due to taste and texture. The soup itself came with 3 small pieces of beef, unsure if they are sitting in the broth all day, or if premade and reheated as the meat was not tender, and had no flavor sadly. Pollo Torta My Lady said she was just ok with this, as she has had better, also the bread was not the correct style of bread used in a normal torta. Tender Cactus This in my opinion had flavor from the different styles I have had, just this one was a bit more spicy than I am use too. With all the tacos I am unsure if they heated the tortillas or just filled nonheated tortillas premade ingredients: Pastor Tacos We honestly did not receive pork tacos, we received chorizo tacos, I was not really happy with these as I was expecting pork and well my lady was ok with it. They seemed ok, but because they were bit more greasy than I am use to with chorizo period, I did not care for them. Asada Taco These steak tacos had no flavor, some meat had more fat than others, and seemed premade maybe reheated due to how dry the pieces of meat were. Tinga de Pollo Taco This was bit spicy, not seasoned, unless their version of seasoned is spicy in that case for health reasons they need to state this. Rice and Beans I felt my serving has semi flavor, but my lady felt her's did not. She just did not really like the rice at all. Verdes Enchilada (Chicken) honestly from the photos you can see things look semi soggy, it is how it was presented, the lettuce should have been on the side not on top, due to the humidity / moisture from the heat, flour tortilla was soggy, and sadly chicken was dry and no flavor(premade maybe reheated) Salsa: The pico de gallo looked premade and server, as in the photos you can see it looks semi soggy. The tomato salsa that came with the chips I liked it, had some flavor, I tried the mild sauce came with it, like a verde but had no flavor at all, I did try their red sauce, but was way too spicy, but I asked for samples of their other sauces. Grilled Serranos I am actually going to try these tomorrow(Saturday) I may try and edit this review by then. I am sure they are good though. Aquas Frescas - Horchata (Rice Milk) Even though this was for my lady, I did take a sip too and this was authentic Horchata. This is just my honest opinion as I come from a Hispanic background and I have cooked some these dishes myself, the order was complete within 20 minutes some these take little time to make fresh. This is why I can tell most this is premade and not freshly done, if you are looking for authentic I would go else where, unless you are looking for something real quick to grab and go. read more

Great authentic Mexican food! Waiter was speedy, friendly & very helpful. I tried the vegetarian burrito- a very large portion! I took 1/2 home. Will enjoy It tomorrow! It has rice, bean, onions, carrots & potatoes & more. Spices were not a problem. My DH enjoyed the lamb stew - a totally new dish to him. Very good, hot and again a super big portion! Chips & 3 salsa choices. DH favored the mild green while I ate too much of the red --- that is probably why I couldn't eat the whole burrito! This is definitely a hidden gem! There's not even any signage. Just a dark orange/rust colored building. But the food is outstanding! My husband and I happened onto it a couple of years ago when in Anderson and we haven't been able to stop pining after it ever since! The chicken tinga tacos were outstanding! And they made a fresh bowl of pico de gallo for me when I requested it. It was SO good!! So when I had to be in Anderson again recently, you can bet I picked up some tinga tacos to take home, and they did not disappoint! If this place was in Indy we'd be there all the time! Had we not had to drive to Anderson Lowe's, we never would have found this hole in the wall gem. Late on Sunday evening might not not be the best time, as they'd run out of a couple things, but I'd rather have products run out than for them to keep old food around. We had the Torta Cubana which had a paper thin chicken fritter, sliced hot dogs, some garnish, and other forgotten toppings. The chicken and rice was slathered in white cheese sauce and was a larger portion than I expected. The sopes were made to order for sure and topped with deliciously messy pork al pastor. I don't like being served plastic bottles of water when dining in, but that's really the only complaint. I'd have ordered a beer, but we didn't see it on the menu. Fantastic table salsa! One of Anderson's best kept secrets!!! Choriqueso is my weakness and Lindo Michoacan has a pretty good one! The tacos are also great! (2 Grilled Corn Tortillas, Meat (Your Choice), White Onion and Cilantro) I also really enjoy the Elotes. They have a small selection of imported beer. I would recommend Modelo! Jarritos, too, of course! They have recently began making some changes/upgrades to the interior. I really love the yellow!!! Super fun paintings on the outside, as well! The people here are always friendly and you can count on the food being hot and tasty! It's usually ready within 10-15 minutes and is super easy to find. Price is competitive! Wow this place was pretty great! We decided to go with a variety to get a good first impression of the food. The street corn was piping hot, tart and sweet with a little richness from the cheese at the end. Next up were the beef tongue tacos. I had never had beef tongue before, but would compare the texture and taste to tender oxtail. The taco ingredients tasted bright and they came out piping hot. I also tried the shredded chicken burrito and man was itspicy and tasty! I'm always glad when restaurants don't dull flavors due to un adventurous customers. The chicken was soft, moist, and very well seasoned. The freshly fried chips and salsa were also a treat. I will definitely be back here and recommend it. read more

I literally dream about this place that's how amazing the food here is. Everything I've tried here from the tacos, tortas, burritos are all perfection. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very generous. My favorite is the steak burrito. It is filled with heaps of tender juicy steak, rice, cheese, lettuce and veggies, and wrapped in a warm flour tortilla that is then grilled to perfection. I ask for a side of their spicy red salsa, and I'm not kidding when I say it's spicy. That stuff is literal fire in a cup, but it's fantastic. 10/10 would recommend and come back here. read more

As we travel we try to eat at locally owned places. We stopped here solely based on the reviews. All three salsas were good, all with different flavor profiles. I favored the middle red while my husband fell hard for the hot salsa! My husband ordered the steak cancun and he was pleasantly surprised. The peppers were firm and not mushy, the steak had a great flavor and was very tender. I am not a big eater, so the waiter suggested a tostada. I chose the chorizo tostada. The flavor of the chorizo was not like the commercially prepared or the other Mexican restaurants chorizo. It had a much different flavoring, which I cannot put my finger on. AMAZING! The most authentic Mexican food you can get anywhere near Indianapolis. The best I have ever had. The menu is a la carte style for the most part with a wide selection of tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, and soups on the weekends (which I didn't have but would highly recommend trying). I had the chicken tostada (ask for cabbage instead of lettuce!) and a carne asada and el pastor taco. Amazing. I believe this is the restaurant that used to be a small tacqueria just down the street from our house; they changed names after they moved to their current location. They close early (5 PM) most of the week, which means our opportunities to go there are limited, but we had to pick up our vehicle from Rick's Muffler across the street, so we stopped in here for dinner. They have the usual complimentary salsa and nacho chips. The salsa was tasty, and not outright hot as you're eating it, but with a slow burn that sneaks up and surprises you. The chips were homemade and left a little grease on my hands, but didn't taste greasy at all. We split a burrito al pastor and a side of rice and beans; at first glance I would have said that the shredded iceberg lettuce overpowered the rest of the ingredients (I'm not a fan of iceberg), but it ended up nicely balancing the assertive flavor of the pork. The salsas served with it were excellent, and I found myself repeatedly coming back for the red one despite its heat. (It's a good pain.) All I can say is I have never been served fajitas with shrimp tails still on them. I asked the waiter he said always served like that. I've only ordered fajitas 200 times I'm 56 and have eaten in many countries including Mexico. I would grade the food a 4 out of ten. Wilted lettuce. A sour cream sauce not thick rich sour cream. The place needs a professional server who understands how to clean tables, how to present silverware. With Other much better ambience and service and food choices I don't see these folks around much longer. The fajitas I order were 13 just like anywhere else. In fact no taking up of dishes, or presenting a check. Ask for water you get a bottle of water. Asked for plates got some household plates sold at Walmart or big lots. The owner/ manager needs to talk to his customers, get someone else to stock the coolers. Totally oblivious to business. Three tables on A Friday night at 545 pm. I had to walk up to get my check, no check ever presented. Sorry but the other places in town are better in every way! I hope these facts help you fix things before it is too late.
