Came in this morning looking around at the shop. I spoke with the owner who stated that he custom builds bikes and a lot of the parts are from Germany. these bikes are definitely high-end for Cruisers and can cost as much as $2,500. the owner was very cordial and offered a lot of information, if you're looking for a cruiser bike I'd highly recommend coming here, I think I see one in my future. Dom is the best custom bike shop. I highly recommend checking out his Instagram page to get a better feel of his work. This isn't your typical bike shop for repairs, etc...but if you're looking to build a bad@%* custom bike this is your shop in the Bay Area! Dom's helped me with two of my cruisers and when I'm ready, I'll be having him build me another one! Thanks for always taking care of me Dom! Go see him for your custom bike builds!

My family has made many bike purchases in the last 16 years in the Bay Area with kids who grow out of bikes every couple of years. This time we were on the hunt for bikes for my husband and I and decided to find some cool cruisers to fit our biking needs. From the first conversation through email with Dominick to the first time we came in the shop, he was great. We didn't want to go custom on our cruisers but what we found was Dominick was able to easily make the modifications to the bikes we wanted by giving us a custom feel to regular cruise. We changed up the handle bars, added a basket, etc. to give us the fun feel we were looking for. Dominick even added the 3 speed to the cruisers for us. I highly recommend making your next bike purchase at the Cruiser Shop. We even bought our 8 year old son his next bike there and are just waiting for it to arrive!

Dom built this 1965 achwinn for my son ... Great job!!!

I'm in the market to buy another bike and my experience with them was great so I wanted to give them my business again. It's so nice to walk into a store and speak with people who understand what good customer service is. It's not just about greeting someone with a smile. It's having the knowledge and experience to answer customer questions, listen to what it is they're looking for and then make recommendations based on the customer's needs. Obviously the team at Hyland left a good impression on me 14 years ago. I'm looking to buy an electric trike now and I'm hopeful that they can help me out or at least point me in the right direction. Now, obviously things can change in 14 years, but Hyland's been around for a long time and that alone is a testament at least to me about the quality of their business. So if you're looking for a bike, definitely go check them out.

I was in the market for some accessories for my son's bike and instead of taking the lazy way and ordering from Unca Jeff, I decided to do the right thing and support a local cyclery. And I'm glad I did. The Good: *Small private lot *Very convenient location if you live in Willow Glen or Cambrian. *Open seven days a week *Staff is super helpful and not pushy *Sell bikes and accessories, as well as bike maintenance and repairs. *I accidently bought the wrong type of rear bike rack** and I had already opened it and tried (unsuccessfully) to install it. I took it back along with the bike thinking I'd have to eat the cost of the rack since I'd already opened it, but they were more than happy to order me the correct one. Now that's customer service!! *Trade bikes for store credit *EXACT SAME PRICES AS AMAZON ON ACCESSORIES. I know that's hard to believe, but I checked, cuz you know... I'm a cheap-ass and am always curious, but yeah. The Meh: *No street parking on Meridian, but you can on nearby Blackford Ln. The Ugly: *Parking lot is a little tight, especially if you have a long vehicle and a hitch with bikes on it. Conclusion: Great little family bike shop with fantastic customer service. Highly recommended. **Be sure you know what kind of rear brakes your bike has either drum or disc when buying mountable accessories.

My 80-year-old father came here THREE different times for the same flat tire issue. The front staff, especially Wilson, were respectful and tried to take care of him by applying a small $12 courtesy discount for being a returning customer. Then service manager "Dylan" stepped in and removed the discount because the bike "isn't a mountain bike" and this is a "performance shop." Let that sink in. An 80-year-old senior citizen, returning multiple times for the SAME issue, gets treated differently because his bike supposedly isn't good enough for their shop. That tells you everything you need to know about this business. The employees seem decent, but management clearly values squeezing every dollar out of customers more than basic human decency, loyalty, or respect for seniors. If they're willing to embarrass and nickel-and-dime an elderly customer over $12, imagine how they'll treat everyone else once they already have your business. There are plenty of bike shops in the Bay Area that actually appreciate customers. This is not one of them. We will never return and strongly recommend others think twice before spending money here.

If you are looking for new shoes, do yourself a favor and find Steve in the footwear department. His knowledge is genuinely unmatched. He didn't just point me to the newest or most expensive model; he took the time to understand the mechanics of my feet and explain the nuances of every shoe we discussed. He even had me running down the aisles in various pairs to ensure the fit and feel were perfect. It was easily the best customer service I've ever had, better than some shoe speciality shop! To top it off, I found out about their "Love Your Purchase" return policy. It's a total game-changer--knowing I can actually test these out and bring them back if they don't work for my feet gives me so much peace of mind. Between Steve's expertise and the store's return policy, I won't be going anywhere else for my gear.

They responded right away with some quotes and just said to drop it off at any time. The fact that they're a short ten-minute drive from our place doesn't hurt, either. Dropped it off for two tube replacements and a basic tuneup, during the course of which they found a shifter was out of sorts and needed replacement. It took about three business days (they have a lot of work and it's a one man show) but the owner is very nice and keeps you up to date with the repair via text, including having you approve any new repairs, as well as the cost.
