My beloved 1985 Trek 720 is back on the road again.
    Court N.

Got Bikes did a great job cabling a very difficult old but beloved bike of mine. He got it back on the road, after a a year of frustration and giving up that I attempted myself, and pointed out some of the issues. He is very knowledgable with bikes in general and the requirements of all of them, from classic touring bikes to contemporary electric bikes. I'll be back with my other bikes that need service.

my issue: tire tube stuck in breaks + worn down back tire
    Angel T.

I'll preface this by saying that I'm a Filipina American woman in my mid-twenties. I feel that this is necessary because I've read that other Yelpers felt profiled by the owner, which saddened me to read. Thankfully, I had a positive experience and I hope that others will receive just as kind treatment as I received in the future! COVID UPDATES *Hours are limited. Be sure to check Yelp hours for updates. Appointments may be necessary, so email james@gotbikes.com for an appointment. *Masks must be worn. On Monday (Labor Day Holiday), I contacted the business through Yelp messages about my bike issue (the bike tire tube had popped and gotten tangled in my breaks) and received a swift reply that I could come in for a quote. I came with my bike for a tire repair on Tuesday around 5 PM and picked it up the following day, Wednesday 5 PM. The owner, James, offered a tube replacement at 2 different price points (standard for $7-8 or higher-performance for $17). I opted for the better version since I do bike everyday. He texted me that the back tire (where the tube had gone flat) also exhibited wear and said I could replace it for $25, and I agreed on the replacement. Labor for everything cost $20. I paid using debit card. Happy to say that my bike feels better than ever! Overall, I found this entire bike repair process smooth and convenient.

    Almost like new!

In this insane time of thoroughly disrupted supply chains, James is doing a fantastic job of keeping parts in stock. Kudos!

As other reviews mentioned, it's a small shop, but that meant I could chat with the technician while he worked and he could offer me various options. He replaced the rear inner tube and added a liner and sealant, plus added sealant to the front tire (I would've had him add a liner to the front tire, too, but he only had one in the right size). I'd never had the bike serviced since I bought it online 6 months ago, so he checked and tightened various loose connections. He showed me some basic maintenance procedures like how to lubricate the chain (easy when you know how, but as a biking n00b, I appreciated the lesson). If I need work done in the future, I'll be a happy repeat customer.

They do have plenty of options in terms of parts. They also have some other accessories as well like phone cases. There were only two staff member. Because of the tighter space, it can be a bit difficult to see where the line to get help is and where people are just browsing. The staff here is not bad. They were really helpful to my friend who needed a piece removed off his bike. They were kind enough to give it a try even though it was going to be a tough piece to remove. They were able to do it and the staff was kind to not charge but we paid something for the help. Overall the place can feel a bit cluttered but they do a have a lot of bike options. The staff is kind but the layout does make it harder to know if you are in line or the person in front is just browsing.

I wish there was a way to give this shop 100 stars - they deserve it!…read more I've been mountain biking for about 30 years, and am repeatedly blown away by what a great shop Lars runs here. They are incredibly well informed, patient when I am persnickety, and do a great job remembering customers from one visit to the next - I'm always greeted with a friendly hello as I enter. The products in store are well curated - these folks stock the parts they ride and race on themselves. Whether it's little tools, pads or clothes, or the new new drivetrain - they have everything (and have ridden it to provide a useful recommendation) Most importantly - I have watched them treat *everybody* the way they treat the "regulars" - it doesn't matter if you're there to spend $10 or $10,000. I watched once as the shop owner himself painstakingly explained subtle details of how their brakes worked to someone who clearly had no idea what they were doing, helping them understand their options instead of just slapping an expensive repair bill on the bike and moving on. That customer left understanding what they had signed up for, why it was necessary, and confident their bike would be safe when it was done being repaired. The service team does an outstanding job getting your bike rolling well. I am a pretty handy person, even worked as a bike mechanic long ago, and yet when I brought my bike to them to bail me out of an issue when I didn't have time to deal with it myself, they returned it to me in better shape than I've maintained it myself - it rode like a dream. They also went above and beyond when I had a brake seal fail the night before a race, and got me ready to rock in time. Huge props to Shane and Dylan!

"Best Footwear Experience--Ask for Steve!"…read more I've been to countless running and shoe stores over the years, but my experience at the Campbell Sports Basement was on an entirely different level. If you are looking for new shoes, do yourself a favor and find Steve in the footwear department. His knowledge is genuinely unmatched. He didn't just point me to the newest or most expensive model; he took the time to understand the mechanics of my feet and explain the nuances of every shoe we discussed. He even had me running down the aisles in various pairs to ensure the fit and feel were perfect. It was easily the best customer service I've ever had, better than some shoe speciality shop! To top it off, I found out about their "Love Your Purchase" return policy. It's a total game-changer--knowing I can actually test these out and bring them back if they don't work for my feet gives me so much peace of mind. Between Steve's expertise and the store's return policy, I won't be going anywhere else for my gear.

I'm in the market to buy another bike and my experience with them was great so I wanted to give them my business again. It's so nice to walk into a store and speak with people who understand what good customer service is. It's not just about greeting someone with a smile. It's having the knowledge and experience to answer customer questions, listen to what it is they're looking for and then make recommendations based on the customer's needs. Obviously the team at Hyland left a good impression on me 14 years ago. I'm looking to buy an electric trike now and I'm hopeful that they can help me out or at least point me in the right direction. Now, obviously things can change in 14 years, but Hyland's been around for a long time and that alone is a testament at least to me about the quality of their business. So if you're looking for a bike, definitely go check them out.

I was in the market for some accessories for my son's bike and instead of taking the lazy way and ordering from Unca Jeff, I decided to do the right thing and support a local cyclery. And I'm glad I did. The Good: *Small private lot *Very convenient location if you live in Willow Glen or Cambrian. *Open seven days a week *Staff is super helpful and not pushy *Sell bikes and accessories, as well as bike maintenance and repairs. *I accidently bought the wrong type of rear bike rack** and I had already opened it and tried (unsuccessfully) to install it. I took it back along with the bike thinking I'd have to eat the cost of the rack since I'd already opened it, but they were more than happy to order me the correct one. Now that's customer service!! *Trade bikes for store credit *EXACT SAME PRICES AS AMAZON ON ACCESSORIES. I know that's hard to believe, but I checked, cuz you know... I'm a cheap-ass and am always curious, but yeah. The Meh: *No street parking on Meridian, but you can on nearby Blackford Ln. The Ugly: *Parking lot is a little tight, especially if you have a long vehicle and a hitch with bikes on it. Conclusion: Great little family bike shop with fantastic customer service. Highly recommended. **Be sure you know what kind of rear brakes your bike has either drum or disc when buying mountable accessories.
