I have been riding bicycles since I was a kid. I would crank and repair most of my issues at home with my old man or by myself. It hit a wall in fixing a seat that I had bought and installed. That's where Bicycle Express comes in to save the day! I found this place on Yelp (thank you always guys and gals) and it was fairly easy to find in the South Downtown Area. I rode my bike ride into the shop, explained my issue, and within 7 minutes, they had repaired it! The gentleman that checked me in and the repairman were both super nice. The price wasn't crazy high either for the repair. Overall; quick and friendly service. For any bike needs, this is now my shop!

BE via Bicycle Express is a very small local shop on E Williams, Is a pit stop for me every couple months for adjustments and maintenance for my bikes. I pass through Downtown often so its convenient for those that do the same. I like how they have a pump and tool pole for any customers to use, whenever really. A solid spot with quick turn around haven't had wait no more than half an hour (30) on the kinds of small jobs done on my bike. I think the shop is run by a family trio/team of Dad, Mom, Son and mechanics? Jessica!! lol. No diss or anything, but this place does not off give off a yuppie/upscale or trendy feel, but that's whats awesome about it. Definitely has an 80's 90's charm. Overall a place I recommend for anyone looking to buy and or get a bike fixed, great people!! I found this gem online messaged them on instagram they responded fairly quickly. Took in both of my bikes for a tune up and threw on some new grip tape --paid about 70 for each tune up and 30 for the new tape/service fee. Overall was very pleased with how communicative and fast they took to complete the service-- they took about 2 days!! where some other places totally over charge and take 2 weeks just to get your bike back. My only note I would consider is I wish they offered an additional cleaning or detail! I would've totally paid. They wiped down both of my bikes which I appreciated but after sitting all winter they definitely had alot of dust and dirt and needed a good clean.

I'd give this shop 10 stars if I could. I have been on a knee scooter for 3 weeks due to corrective foot surgery. The scooter was making a sound like a dying goose for at least 2 weeks. I rolled into this small local shop and was immediately greeted like a friend of the family. They didn't hesitate to take a look and 7 mins later, they cured the dying goose. And an added bonus, they didn't charge me. These are the best people. I intend to come back and by a bike when I can start walking again.

As other reviews mentioned, it's a small shop, but that meant I could chat with the technician while he worked and he could offer me various options. He replaced the rear inner tube and added a liner and sealant, plus added sealant to the front tire (I would've had him add a liner to the front tire, too, but he only had one in the right size). I'd never had the bike serviced since I bought it online 6 months ago, so he checked and tightened various loose connections. He showed me some basic maintenance procedures like how to lubricate the chain (easy when you know how, but as a biking n00b, I appreciated the lesson). If I need work done in the future, I'll be a happy repeat customer.

I wish there was a way to give this shop 100 stars - they deserve it!…read more I've been mountain biking for about 30 years, and am repeatedly blown away by what a great shop Lars runs here. They are incredibly well informed, patient when I am persnickety, and do a great job remembering customers from one visit to the next - I'm always greeted with a friendly hello as I enter. The products in store are well curated - these folks stock the parts they ride and race on themselves. Whether it's little tools, pads or clothes, or the new new drivetrain - they have everything (and have ridden it to provide a useful recommendation) Most importantly - I have watched them treat *everybody* the way they treat the "regulars" - it doesn't matter if you're there to spend $10 or $10,000. I watched once as the shop owner himself painstakingly explained subtle details of how their brakes worked to someone who clearly had no idea what they were doing, helping them understand their options instead of just slapping an expensive repair bill on the bike and moving on. That customer left understanding what they had signed up for, why it was necessary, and confident their bike would be safe when it was done being repaired. The service team does an outstanding job getting your bike rolling well. I am a pretty handy person, even worked as a bike mechanic long ago, and yet when I brought my bike to them to bail me out of an issue when I didn't have time to deal with it myself, they returned it to me in better shape than I've maintained it myself - it rode like a dream. They also went above and beyond when I had a brake seal fail the night before a race, and got me ready to rock in time. Huge props to Shane and Dylan!

When I did hear from him, he let me know that he did not have any luck when contacting the manufacturer on their website and that I needed to pick my bike up immediately or he'd be charging me $25 a day in Storrage fees. I let him know that I need more of a heads up to pick THE BIKE up before he begins charging me $25 a day and I inquired on what website he was attempting to contact for THE BIKE. Apparently this guy had been contacting the wrong website the entire time. I gave him the correct site to contact and he said he'd get back to me. I heard back from him a couple days later again with him, threatening Storrage fees if I didn't come pick it up. Well, obviously, used bike salesman are just as trustworthy as used car salesmen but I digress. Both tires had holes in them and wouldn't hold air, and that's just what we knew of, so I decided we needed to find a good reliable bike shop for these and future repairs, so we turned to Yelp to aid us in our quest. They responded right away with some quotes and just said to drop it off at any time. The fact that they're a short ten-minute drive from our place doesn't hurt, either. Dropped it off for two tube replacements and a basic tuneup, during the course of which they found a shifter was out of sorts and needed replacement. It took about three business days (they have a lot of work and it's a one man show) but the owner is very nice and keeps you up to date with the repair via text, including having you approve any new repairs, as well as the cost. As long as you don't need it tomorrow then I highly recommend "Got Bikes?" for all your bike repair needs.

He even had me running down the aisles in various pairs to ensure the fit and feel were perfect. It was easily the best customer service I've ever had, better than some shoe speciality shop! I was in the market for some accessories for my son's bike and instead of taking the lazy way and ordering from Unca Jeff, I decided to do the right thing and support a local cyclery. And I'm glad I did. The Good: *Small private lot *Very convenient location if you live in Willow Glen or Cambrian. *Open seven days a week *Staff is super helpful and not pushy *Sell bikes and accessories, as well as bike maintenance and repairs. *I accidently bought the wrong type of rear bike rack** and I had already opened it and tried (unsuccessfully) to install it. I took it back along with the bike thinking I'd have to eat the cost of the rack since I'd already opened it, but they were more than happy to order me the correct one. Now that's customer service!! *Trade bikes for store credit *EXACT SAME PRICES AS AMAZON ON ACCESSORIES. I know that's hard to believe, but I checked, cuz you know... I'm a cheap-ass and am always curious, but yeah. The Meh: *No street parking on Meridian, but you can on nearby Blackford Ln. The Ugly: *Parking lot is a little tight, especially if you have a long vehicle and a hitch with bikes on it. Conclusion: Great little family bike shop with fantastic customer service. Highly recommended. **Be sure you know what kind of rear brakes your bike has either drum or disc when buying mountable accessories.
