The symptom was that the power kept going off when he hit a bump. Something was loose or disconnected. Found James through Yelp and he responded to my request quickly and promptly. He knew exactly what was wrong and that gave me confidence in his ability which was confirmed when I received my bike about a week after he picked it up (yes, he picked up and dropped off!). Price was explained to me perfectly and I thought was very fair. All in all, an excellent service.

He let me know that is is something he could fix and that he was familiar with the issue. I let him know that we've tested the battery and the issue was with the controller. He let me know that it would be $150 + parts. This guy had my bike for 3.5 weeks before I heard anything from him. When I did hear from him, he let me know that he did not have any luck when contacting the manufacturer on their website and that I needed to pick my bike up immediately or he'd be charging me $25 a day in Storrage fees. I let him know that I need more of a heads up to pick THE BIKE up before he begins charging me $25 a day and I inquired on what website he was attempting to contact for THE BIKE. Apparently this guy had been contacting the wrong website the entire time. I gave him the correct site to contact and he said he'd get back to me. I heard back from him a couple days later again with him, threatening Storrage fees if I didn't come pick it up. He was extremely rude, still charged me $150 for nothing, and charged me $50 because it took me two days to come get the bike. This guy is extremely rude and disrespectful and over charges for his own negligence.

He kept me in the loop with other things that the bike needed to repair on, and he did the work on it as well. I can say when I took the bike to him the bike was super dirty. I think he went beyond and even washed the bike unless I'm crazy and didn't notice it but Bob if you're reading this, thank you so much for the work and cleaning the bike as well. Dropped off an adult and youth bike for service on Friday and Chris texted me Sunday letting me know he was almost done and they would be ready Monday. He provided me with a summary of the work performed and cost of the bike. The youth bike didn't need as much attention so he didn't charge me the full price. The Los Gatos shop is about as beautiful and "cool" as a bike shop could possibly be, and the customer service we experienced here is on par with that. Already impressed upon our first visit here, we were completely won over by Gus, the official (or unofficial) mascot of the store and one of the most handsome, adorable and chill Golden Retrievers you've ever seen! My hubby and I popped in last week to check out a mountain bike that he's been eyeing and reading all about. Clay Walker helped us out and honestly was the most helpful, friendly and personable bike shop employee (actually I think his name tag said GM?) we've ever encountered. He helped my husband with all his questions and even let him take the bike out for a spin. You can tell these guys are passionate about bikes, and they were never pushy either. Meanwhile I walked around the entire store and couldn't believe how immaculate it was, how much great gear and merch they have, and how many different types of bikes they have from all the top brands for all ages and riders. We came back the other day to buy that mountain bike, and again the service and experience was exceptional (seriously, thank you Clay!). I never thought I'd be so excited to go back to a bike shop and I wasn't event the one getting a new bike! Plus we got some more time with Gus which was icing on the cake. I've always had a great experience shopping here, and the owner has always been very nice, welcoming, and helpful. I've always considered this one of the best mountain bike shops in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday, 09/13/26, was very disappointing. I was shopping with my 6-year-old son. He is on the autism spectrum and has ADHD, so he can be hyperactive and sometimes loud. As his parent, I understand his behavior and always do my best to manage him. However, the sales manager, Scot, repeatedly kept checking on my son and saying "excuse me" to me in a way that came across as rude, annoyed, and unnecessary. I also noticed him giving my son a hard glare. That really bothered me. He is a 6-year-old child, and I don't think a child should be made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable simply because he is energetic or behaves differently. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've been a loyal customer for years and have spent a lot of my hard-earned money at this shop. I've always supported this business because I genuinely enjoyed shopping here and had such positive experiences in the past. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Everyone deserves to be treated with patience and respect, including children with special needs. If my son is not welcome in this store, then I will gladly take my hard-earned money somewhere else. It's unfortunate that one experience has changed the way I feel about a shop I previously had such a high opinion of.
