Nice ambiance. Burger was actually really good. I'm not big on fries but these had 3 different kids of fries and were so good.

Recommended by those who work at Duluth Trading. The place Not very busy so seating was fast. One waitress serving about 15 patrons seemed a little hard for her and waited patiently. She did a good job. One Manager spent time on his phone instead of helping the staff. TV's all around with sports on and place was nicely decorated. We ordered the fired pickles for our appetizer. Drinks a Guinness and I had a mock-tail called the Caribbean Silence. Hubby had the Crow Burger with one patty and I had a Sweet Crow salad. All bread is purchased from a local bakery. Pickles were so good and the salad as well. The salad came with a fresh bread pretzel. The burger was a 10 out of 10.. hubby bit into before I could get a picture! Haha! We will return when we visit La Crosse, Wis again.

The food came out hot and fresh, tasted great! The service was so-so. Would recommend if you're looking for burgers and alcohol.

I felt like a burger tonight, so I chose The crow in downtown LaCrosse. The hostess greeted me immediately and gave me a choice to sit at the bar or at a table. There seemed to be a pretty good crowd here for a Monday night. I would not consider this a quiet location, but clearly it was a good atmosphere for people to chat. I could almost hear the background music, which I give two thumbs up for. A little Enter Sandman was kinda nice, followed by Dire Straights. Hannah was my waitress tonight. She was super amazing. She took my order, and remembered the side of Mayo. She even came to let me know my food would be up in about 5 minutes. If you are lucky enough to get Hannah as your server, you will be well taken care of. I think the manager even stopped by to check on my meal. Now for the food. My goodness, this is the burger I have been craving. I have had a number of burgers over the past two months, this one is hands down the best. I ordered The Crow, (I ordered a single, but they are usually double patty sandwich) which was on a pretzel roll with an aoli, bacon, sautéed onion, and provolone. This was perfectly seasoned. I mean from the first bite, I knew I made the right choice for dinner. Their fries are a mix of curly, crinkle, and regular. They were very good, but the burger was the highlight of the meal. As I get ready to depart, the classic tunes of The Outfield make me smile again. What a great place. I f you want possibly the best burger in the state, check this place out.

Delicious food, great service, casual atmosphere and the price point doesn't break your wallet. The appetizers were outstanding! We had steak shaved nachos and the combination of the gooey cheese, fresh salsa, seasoned steak and crispy chips were all working in harmony and making my mouth happy. Now the cheese curds were the best I've had ever! The texture of the cheese curd was like a crispy pillow with cheesy goodness inside. It was seasoned well. We were so stuffed from our appetizers our main dishes were devourable but we only ate half because we were so full from the appetizers. To go boxes were in order. The Crow burger huge and juicy, the bbq pork with Mac and cheese was overwhelmingly a fantastic bite but an unusual sandwich. An option for a side was the chicken chili which was warm, flavorful and comforting to the tummy. This place checks all the right boxes for food, service and ambiance. I will definitely return if I'm in town again.

Around the 90-minute mark, we got a text saying we were 2nd in line to be seated. When we let the hostess know, she snapped back, "That doesn't mean you'll be next." She explained--in a very rude, condescending tone--that smaller groups would be seated ahead of us if a table opened for four. Not ideal, but we stayed patient. While waiting, we noticed tables being cleaned and split apart from a larger party near the bar. I politely asked the hostess if those tables could be used for our group. She cut me off mid-sentence and spoke to me extremely slowly and dismissively, as though I didn't understand basic seating. It was unnecessary and unprofessional, but again--we stayed calm. When we were finally seated, our group was split between two different sections, even though the tables were literally touching each other. The boys ended up with two tables of their own, and the adults were placed at two tables next to them. We still had three more adults arriving, so we asked our server (who was wonderful) if we could move one unused table from the boys' area to the adult side. She said she'd need a manager. Who shows up? The same rude hostess--now calling herself the manager. We asked if we could move the unneeded table so our adults could sit together. She immediately refused and started lecturing us about "affecting her waitresses' livelihood." She insisted each waitress needed their own tables and that she wouldn't "take away" from them. She repeated "livelihood" multiple times, even though we clearly explained that we were all on the same bill and were trying to make things easier for everyone, including the staff. We offered multiple reasonable solutions: Seat us together while allowing both servers to split the table and the tips Let the servers collaborate since we were one large group Allow us to use one table that was otherwise empty Every suggestion was shut down. She told us she had been "accommodating enough already." That line alone says everything. Meanwhile, the actual waitresses were fantastic. We tipped them very well because they provided great service. Our frustration was 100% with the "manager/hostess," not the servers. We visit the Buzzard Billy's in Des Moines regularly and have always had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, the La Crosse location handled customer service very differently--and not in a good way. Being talked down to, dismissed, and blamed for impacting staff "livelihood" when we were simply trying to sit together was unacceptable. For large groups: I cannot recommend this location. We won't be returning. Do better, Wisconsin.

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm "Good morning, hon!" and my friend had a coffee that could wake the dead (or at least a sleep-deprived newcomer). My husband and I just finished our second dinner here and once again sat there wondering how this level of food is casually happening in our small town. Start with the whipped ricotta (sweet-sour cherry jam, pistachios, mint, warm filone bread). It's the kind of dish that makes the whole table go silent except for the occasional "wow! The stuffed mushrooms with house-made giardiniera (served in a little old-school paper cup) are ridiculous. Then the meatballs. Listen carefully: these are the best meatballs we have ever had. Ever. Tender, moisty as hell, clearly packed with Parmesan or some kind of Italian wizardry. Absolutely absurd. Entrées like the Americano Bianco, chicken vodka parmesan, and the deeply comforting spaghetti alla vodka (find meatballs in this one) all deliver. We still haven't managed to catch the lasagna bolognese because it sells out every night -- apparently you need to arrive before about 6:30 if you want a fighting chance. And dessert? The banana pudding tiramisu is borderline illegal. Bonus detail: the playlist is also tippy tops -- banger after banger that has you swaying in your seat and singing along between bites. La Crosse: PLEASE support this place. Restaurants this creative and special do not show up in small towns very often. If we somehow lose this gem because people stuck with chain restaurants...
