I noticed that they only had tables for 2, so if you come with a larger party, you'll have to push the tables together on your own. During my visit, my party and I indulged in a wide selection: lattes, cheese & bacon croissant, spinach & egg waffle, and carbonara pasta. The lattes were quite rich and a good amount of sweet. The croissant and waffle weren't outstanding but not terrible either. The garlic in the carbonara was pretty overpowering. My orders on the croissant and waffle got mixed up, but the staff was very friendly about making us new dishes free of charge. I really wish I could give more stars to this place because their service was impeccable, but the food just did not stand out to me. I had the marinara pasta with chicken katsu ($14.99). The marinara sauce personally for me was on the sweeter side which I didn't prefer but the chicken katsu was nicely good. Finally checked out The Cream near the downtown Duluth area. Free parking attached to the building was a plus! I opted for the omelet rice with sweet and spicy k-fried chicken as my dinner. Huge portion and very flavorful. I also tried the croffle with strawberries and Nutella. Beautiful presentation and had two bites before I took it home because I was so full. I love Korean food and my wife loves brunch, so it's a perfect compromise for our tastes. It's mostly self serve, in that you order at the counter and then got grab the food when the notify you. Came here for a small birthday gathering as the birthday girl wanted to try something new. Cute little place with outdoor seating. The chicken katsu carbonara was fairly decent, as the carbonara was actually quite tasty but the chicken katsu tasted a little on the dry side. The KFC carbonara was better, as the chicken was not overcooked. The spicy seafood ramen was average at best, as I felt the spiciness in the broth was trying to cover the lack of flavor in the seafood that was there. For dessert, the mango snowflake was a mix of good and bad. The mango, wafers, cookies, were good but there was a lot of shaved ice. The shaved ice was about 2/3 of the dessert so you feel a little cheated realizing you paid for a lot of shaved ice. We ordered 2 HK waffles, and while they both tasted great, it took over 30 minutes to get them. We asked a couple of times if our order was ready, but kept being told it was being prepared. 2.5 stars. read more

The manager, Phillip, was so sweet and accommodating, providing many suggestions for my preference. The drinks were phenomenal and flavors were just right, not overwhelming and not too sweet. Unlike some other cafes, they did not fill the entire cup with ice, which I really appreciated. The crouffle was better than other places that i have tried it. The texture was perfect and what i would expect a crouffle to be like. The whip cream and ice cream adding just the right amount of sweetness was phenomenal. The interior is beautiful with modern designs and pretty lights. I love the high ceiling. It can get a little loud when there are a lot of people but expected at a cafe. The music was at a good volume for me to have conversation with my girlfriend with ease. Another shoutout to the staff members who were helping customers clear tables of empty plates when they weren't too busy behind the counter, and to the manager who was helping his staff while engaging with customers. The yummy sauce on top was a nice addition. The poker face is a carbonated soda flavored with strawberry and kiwi syrup's garnished with a fresh strawberry. I will be coming here regularly! The ambiance is cute, music isn't too loud, the place stays clean even with busy. The staff are nice. I think everyone comes here expecting just a regular cafe but guys - the food here is BOMB. They have a pretty good sized menu and their portions are perfect - no leftovers around here but you'll also get full. The Vongole pasta is super garlicky and just enough clam/seafood flavor, absolutely delicious. The salmon I got the first time was a touch on the fishy side, especially in comparison to the very subtle pasta but it was cooked well. The fried shrimp taco is PHENOMENAL. I'm not one for pico 100% of the time but I make an exception for theirs. It's refreshing and balances out the fried shrimp. I get at least one with my meal every time. I heard they're known for the pasta which I ordered the carbonara with katsu. Their katsu is super crispy and tender! Parking can be entered from either Buford Hwy or Duluth Hwy. There were only 3 tables on a weekday around 11am. Quiet, no music. High ceilings with dark color furnitures. It's self serve where you order from the counter and pick up food when it's ready. Two big pieces of waffles. We visited The Cream with a couple of friends who wanted carbs for dinner. Husband ordered the carbonara with chicken katsu ($14.99) and I had the chicken ramen with sweet and spicy fried chicken ($12.99). Husband reported that his carbonara with chicken katsu was pretty good. He said the chicken katsu was pretty standard, nothing amazing. I'm pretty sure the chicken ramen is Jin ramen with some cilantro and a few pieces of shredded chicken. I didn't want a pasta dish and knew it was going to be some kind of instant ramen, but I was hoping for it to be at least shin ramen. Upside, the fried chicken was pretty good. You order at the front of the restaurant and receive a buzzer to pick up your food. Everything is mostly self service except someone may come around and collect your dishes. If you have a party larger than two then I suggest going earlier as it's first come first serve. All tables are for 2, so you'd have to find a space to combine tables to accommodate a larger party. Wow! We had the fried chicken and waffles which I would recommend! The fried chicken was definitely the star, and I loved the tempura batter on it. It came with 2 waffles and fried potato pieces on top too. We also enjoyed the berry waffle, but I have to say the chicken waffles were my favorite! Free parking is located in the back of the building, which is definitely a plus for a restaurant in downtown Duluth - it can be very hard to find parking there! I'd recommend taking a left when you enter the garage instead of a right, since it was more empty there. It's more of a restaurant than a cafe (more of a sit-down restaurant than a place you get work done - I didn't see anyone in the latter group). It's very aesthetic inside too. The only major con is the wait - when it gets crowded, the food will take some time to be prepared, including the drinks. I would definitely come again! Who doesn't love a new cafe visit? I met up with one of my friends to hang out and see what this place had to offer. I love how there is a designated parking lot right behind the cafe and there were signs that led you right to the door. When you enter it's a little confusing because the entrance from the parking garage leads to the "back" of the cafe but there was a ramp and stairs that led up to the counter where you order. While waiting for my friend to arrive I looked at their menu and they have a lot to offer. I ended up ordering the fried chicken katsu croissant and the poker face drink specialty drink and my friend got the spinach & egg croissant with a coffee. While waiting for our order, which took around 10 minutes, we sat on the patio. I appreciated the effort they put in to make even the outside seating aesthetically pleasing. After receiving our order and tasting both croissants, the chicken katsu was my favorite. The specialty drink was light and refreshing with just the right amount of fruity sweetness. The restaurant is located under an apartment complex. There are plenty of parking spaces in the parking deck. You can't miss the sign for parking. We dined in on a Friday evening around 5:30 PM. There was plenty of seating. They recommend you to sit down to review the menu before ordering to not clog up the line. There wasn't anyone there anyway. I ordered the carbonara pasta with spicy K-fried chicken and a Mocha frappe. Both were delicious. The pasta was flavorful, and the k-chicken was not dry, which is a major plus. My mocha frappe was so good and I recommend it. Looking back, I wouldn't have tipped 15%, because I thought they served you. Instead they give you a buzzer and you pick up your food. This place does get busy! The seating is a little weird, so if you're planning to bring a big party, I wouldn't recommend bringing a party over 6 guests (especially on a busy evening). I really like this place. Beautiful ambience and a fancy feel, with affordable food and beverage options (not saying it's cheap especially with inflation nowadays, but it's not terrible). Great place to hang out with friends, get work done (there are ample outlets), or go for a date. It really does have a classy feel. Parking is located inside the parking garage in the middle of the building, it is right next to the 101 Bagel Cafe. On a weekday it is pretty easy to find parking, but on weekends it might be difficult. I usually come here on a weekday when it is not too busy in order to get some studying/work done. I would not recommend this place to do work on weekends. I have read reviews where it is difficult to find seating during the weekends (and the parking garage is packed too). Their menu is pretty big. They have coffee, smoothies, floats, mocktails and specialty/dessert beverages, croffles, ramen, pastas, breakfast, salads, sandwiches, snacks, Hong Kong Waffles, gelato and all kinds of other desserts. One thing I saw that was interesting was the "Melona Dunk" which I have yet to try. So far I have tried an iced matcha latte, The Grinch (one of their specialty drinks which is basically an iced matcha latte with some kind of cheese foam on top), bulgogi fries, and aglio e olio pasta with shrimp. Everything I have tried was delicious. I love their iced matcha latte, I was not a matcha girl until I recently decided to try their matcha latte on a whim. The Grinch was creamy and delicious, it's a good beverage if you are feeling indulgent and want something kind of sweet. Their bulgogi fries were very tasty, great texture for fries. LOVED their pasta! It's my first time trying any form of Korean pasta so I can't say how it compared to other places, but I personally thought it was tasty. It was kind of creamy and cheesy so I wonder if they gave me the alfredo by accident, but regardless I really enjoyed it. It might look small in pictures but it was a decent, filling portion of food. Loved the taste of the shimp - it was crunchy, savory, and mildly sweet. My friend tried their chicken katsu alfredo pasta (which looked kind of like my aglio e olio pasta hence my confusion) and also really liked it. She also loved her Eclat de passion bleu drink.
