Loved the kale salad, basil walnut gnocchi and halibut a tree. Cocktails were good as well. Ambience is nice. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely make reservations couple of weeks in advance. In the heart of edgartown. They have ample of seating indoor and outdoor. Lot of vegetarian options. Chocolate torte was alright. read more

This place was good but the cheese app was small and the bread and butter was good but was weird that it was an app and didn't come with the meal. The gnocchi was good and filling but a little too much pesto for me. The bolognese was amazing! read more

After being screwed over by a restaurant nearby, we were left without food options at 9:40 PM. Most of the restaurants in the area close at 10, and kitchens close even earlier. We ended up walking to The Covington. We spoke to the host, August, and he was very understanding. August then asked the kitchen if they were willing to stay open and they very graciously did. The staff here were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. They went out of their way to sit us in the restaurant. We both had the bolognese which was delicious! But we especially enjoyed the hummus appetizer. We cannot recommend this place enough! read more

Just a wonderful experience. Wait staff was extremely helpful. Bustling but comfortable small restaurant. The food was superb. Don't miss the clams and chorizo or the fresh pasta made right there read more

First visit for us last week. Made a reservation and we were seated at a comfy booth inside. Our server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu, so pleasant. To start we shared the baba ganoush and special cheese of the evening which was a Brie-like cheese from Grey Barn. The baba ganoush was creamy and flavorful and served with a generous side of homemade grilled pita and the cheese with an apricot jam and honey-drizzled crostini. Could've used a couple more pieces of crostini but overall it was delicious! For entrees we shared the kale salad, pesto pasta and Cuban sandwich (special of the evening). All super fresh! The homemade pasta included the sweetest tomatoes and the pesto was really yummy. Cuban was everything you'd expect: homemade baguette, pickles, cheese, mustard and mayo, served with a side of greens. And the kale salad was clean and fresh with mushrooms and cheese. Definitely our favorite meal on the island. We can't wait to go back! read more

We managed to grab an outdoor table on a cool September Saturday night even though reservations weren't available. There were outdoor heating lamps and plenty of space and greenery between the tables. The servers were attentive and the menu fun! We had a great meal. My negroni was tasty and the big square ice cube did its job admirably. The mojito had plenty of mint, but not sure what type of white rum they used... but it was white rum. Although we're not vegetarian, we try to eat vegetables with every meal. The menu has great options for starters, sides and mains that include plenty of veg. We will definitely stop by on our next cruise by Edgartown. read more

A great early dinner on a nice evening. The drinks were well crafted and the staff was very attentive. We made reservations ahead of time and had no issues being seated outdoors. The spicy cucumbers and bread as starters were fantastic and the two pasta dishes that followed hit the mark. Definitely recommend this place, we really enjoyed it read more

Exceeded our expectations. Everything was exceptionally good. Definitely ranks at the top of our list and best on the island. Nice environment with great staff. We will be back. read more

You won't be disappointed by the food, drinks, atmosphere, or service at Covington. I look forward to visiting every year and have been a customer since they first opened. I have never been disappointed. They have a squid ink pasta dish on their menu that is crazy good and I literally have cravings for. The crudo is also a must-have. Obviously, they aren't able to open as usual this year so we opted for their take away options last week. The food was great and they were extremely friendly when we arrived for our no-contact pickup. They also had some fun music playing outside which was a nice touch. You can tell they are taking the proper precautions to keep their staff and customers safe and healthy while still providing great service. We will continue to use their take away service this summer and look forward to being regular customers in their restaurant again in the future. Thank you, Covington! read more

Sister restaurant of Porthouse across the street. Creative drinklist that is well-executed. Must do the panzanella salad to experience island-grown produce. The peas are exceptional. Halibut special was a tad overdone and lost some of its terrific moistness. Tuna entree is well-conceived, although it could do with a bit less ruffage. Pricing is quite reasonable relative to the quality of the food. read more

Had an early reservation in late June. They sat us outside, on the side covered porch. Not the most comfortable chair but it worked fine. Our server was delightful, described entrees in detail and noted my gluten allergy very thoroughly. You could tell each item was rung with celiac and gluten allergy as it was noted on our check. Almost every item on the menu could be customized to be gluten free. We had the cheese plate, smoked beets, farm salad, and the bolognese (with GF pasta!). The pasta dish was the standout. The smoked beets were very flavorful but definitely not an attractive dish. The cheese plate had a raw cheese from Grey Barn and it was delicious. If you have a food allergy I would definitely recommend coming here. The staff is very knowledgeable on allergies and the menu is well labeled. read more

My wife and I loved the drinks and the two apps we got were ok at best. Really small and pricey, not amazing but not bad. But their entrees and menu weren't that great and we went elsewhere for dinner. read more

This restaurant is so incredibly lovely. The service was among the best I've ever experienced, the food was so amazing, the atmosphere was lovely, and overall it was just an incredible finish from start to end. If you can, please go. *make sure to make a reservation ahead!* currently, they have outdoor seating which is lovely. I wish the best for all the servers and owners that made this experience so special! read more

Very good food. Our server was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about their gluten-free options. Only draw was it was loud. But the food was out of this world. I highly recommend. read more

OH. MY. GOD!! The rose water cocktail and the crudo here have made it to the top of my favorite foods EVER!! The crudo melts in your mouth. We ordered just one between four girlfriends and should have ordered two. We devoured that dish like it was the last one on earth. The gin and rose water goblet was out of this world with delicious fragrant flavors. I could eat and drink that all day. read more

The Covington - Gin and Rosewater cocktail - AMAZING!!!!! - New American Near Me - Edgartown, Massachusetts

Each ingredient packs a fresh punch of flavor. The parsley and citrus in the Aguachile perfectly compliment the halibut. The Bolognese and Gnocchi are must try's. The honey pie had a depth of sweetness and was a great finish. Loved the drinks and the staff. Worth every penny! read more

Outstanding dinner with great service. We 6 sat around the side in a private pleasant setting. All courses were superb, starti delicious spicy marinated cucumbers, large slices with the right bite. The bread was crunchy on the outside and tender inside. I had had so much fish on the island that I went with the Bolonese, which was well flavored and very hot (not Luke warm, as it can be elsewhere. My wife had the halibut, which was also great, as was the mushroom ragu. Highly recommend! read more

The Covington is amazing. Go there often when we visit Martha's Vinyard. The pasta dishes are fantastic & same with desserts. Service is amazing. We just came to Visit again this week & they are closed for the season but wanted to leave a five star review as we will be back soon & will be returning customers. read more

So refreshing to have a chef who really cares to excel...in creating a fresh, creative, richly flavorful cuisine. Mr. Said takes a miraculous spin on a cucumber appetizer, right along to one of the most tender and interesting kale salads to the best halibut dish I've ever had. I am a sucker for craft cocktails but the two times we were there this month, the flavors were not balanced or complementary to my palate. But hats off to the chef and the attentive wait staff...Only wish you were open year-round! read more

Finally! A fine dining experience that accommodates vegans on Martha's Vineyard. My mushroom ragu that was prepared vegan was exceptional. So much flavor and not one animal was harmed to prepare my meal. The bread we ordered was piping hot. I ended up biting my tongue cause I was eating with so much excitement. I am also a fan of their wine and cocktail list. I also enjoyed the team that worked there. What a staff! Have to come back before I leave the vineyard. read more

Service was excellent. Caitlin the bartender made our dining experience the best. We had planned to sit outside but the rain changed our plan. The bar was the only thing available and it was fun, food delicious and drinks were great. Lots of locals dining at this restaurant. read more

Best bolognese I've ever had!! Highly recommend going on Saturday, especially in the summer, to beat the traffic coming into the town!!

Came to sit at the bar and have food. My husband and I were greeted by the bartender, given menus and waters. About 5 minutes later we were approached by a snobby hostess who told us we had to get up because bar seats are reserved. The bartender was apologetic and looked confused. If you look on their resy system, reserving bar seats isn't even an option so unclear why we were not allowed to sit there. read more

We heard great things about this restaurant so wanted to give it a try while we were staying on Martha's Vineyard. Overall, it was a positive experience. The restaurant has a great, modern ambience. I really enjoyed my squash and beans. It tasted much better then you would imagine. My husband had the braised pork and beef bolognese. It was fabulous though not as good as my own, LOL. read more

Being from NYC, you're so used to everything being opened late, especially serving food still. First time being in Martha's Vineyard and exploring for dinner options, not realizing how early kitchens close - luckily The Covington was still serving. We were seated out side, and out waitress was super friendly and informative with any questions in regard to the menu. It's no longer on the menu, as summer is coming to an end and I was there about a month ago. My friend and I both got this lobster pasta dish. My goodness - it was delicious. I should've written a review sooner because I can't remember what exactly the ingredients were - but the sauce was wonderful and the lobster melted in your mouth. My partner and his sister got the Steak for Two and it was cooked to their likings, seasoned well, and overall great! Check this place out! Cocktails were yummy too. read more

This is a really high-end restaurant that resembles what fine dining should be like. There is excellent atmosphere, service, and the food is also amazing! I got the steak for two, which was a T-bone cut in half, as well as the tuna tartare. Both dishes were excellent! The tuna tartare was so good in all aspects. The quality was outstanding as well as the freshness. The quality in fish matters so much because if it's good quality, it has a lot of natural flavors. I liked that they seasoned it lightly, so you could still taste the natural flavor. The T-bone steak was also really good. I liked that they kept the bone in because the bone gives the meat more flavor. I also liked how the steak had a little bit of a crust on the edges to give it a little bit more texture. I really enjoyed this place and definitely recommend it. read more

We only had cocktails at this place - right at the bar where you'll be greeted by two amazing bartenders who know their stuff!! The shearwater drink had rum, cinnamon, fresh lemon and was amazing. This meal was, quite simply, amazing. Honestly some of the best cocktails I have ever had. Period. Everything that came out of the kitchen was so thoughtfully prepared- the spicy cucumbers, squash & beans, the bolognese, even down to the bread and butter- each dish was better than the next. The service was top notch and everyone was so genuinely friendly. The decor and ambience, magical. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Overall, I had a really good experience eating dinner at the Covington. We ordered 3 appetizers for the table including the cheeses, smoked beets and the squash and beans. Honestly, they were one of the highlights of the meal! I would highly recommend them as well as the honey pie we shared for dessert- absolutely delicious! Unfortunately I can't say the same for the pastas. My husband had the pesto and there was way too much sauce, the pasta was drowning in it! I ordered the bolognese and there was barely any meat in it at all. For the price, I shouldn't have to search for the meat. Next time, I would just go for appetizers, but skip the main dish. read more

Had a pretty bad experience here. We came here on Sunday night - understandably it can get busy, but this doesn't give excuse to the following. 1) Extremely long wait for food: We waited for close to 40 minutes for our entrees, with no apologies/ explanations/ attention given to us while we wait. 2) Inattentive service: waitress didn't notice when our water was out and took a really long time to bring in a new one even after we pointed it out. 3) Food was mediocre and cold upon arrival: we ordered a crosini, a squid ink pasta, a lobster pasta, and a sea bass. The food was mediocre at best and was not at its optimal temperature upon arrival. In the end, we were so eager to get out of the restaurant we didn't even order dessert. Definitely don't recommend this place. We had dinner at Garde East the night before and it was phenomenal - it's in Vineyard Haven rather than Edgartown but worth the drive for much better food, ambiance, and service. read more

Outstanding food and service. Really enjoyed our experience at The Covington. Not an expansive menu, but the dishes they serve are excellent. Highly recommend the bread as an appetizer. The seafood and gnocchi pastas were delicious. Hand made pasta, great drinks, great staff. Couldn't ask for more. Must dine in MV. read more

Best meal in Edgartown. Everything was perfect...the service, the location, the FOOD. We had the bread and butter, and cucumbers to start followed by the squash and beans, and fluke. One was better than the next. For dinner we had the mushroom ragu and bolognese- pasta was cooked perfectly so much flavor. Ended the evening with the most incredible dessert - honey cake. Unbelievable meal. Can't wait to come back! read more

I am very glad to have finally had the pleasure of dining here recently. Having noticed that this restaurant seemed to only be open at dinner over multiple seasons, I thought it was fair to guess that this would be a strong culinary experience. The menu was great; I look forward to returning to try more items. What would did enjoy made good use of local flavors, and strong preparation. The waitstaff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. read more
