The patio is dog friendly if you are wanting to take your dog with you. There is paid parking right out front. We ordered a bottle of Merlot wine, Proscuttio flatbread, hummus plate and the potato wedges. Everything came out hot and fresh. The inside has more tables but is really loud. We came around 5:45p on a weekday, and there was no wait. There is a paid parking lot right by the place. The service was good, and the waiter and waitress checked on us a few times. I wanted a Rose that's more dry than sweet, and I got some recommendations. The price is on the higher side, but on par for the location (and well, it's Seattle pricing) However, the place was so loud, to the point that I was struggling to hear what my friend was saying. The hostess was sweet and honestly the most helpful person we interacted with. Unfortunately, our waitress came across as pretty condescending anytime we asked questions. For example, when we asked what came on the charcuterie board, she explained it was "a variety of meats, cheeses, and dried fruits." When we tried to clarify and asked what specifically was included, she responded with, "Again... meats, cheeses, and dried fruits." It felt unnecessarily dismissive. After ordering food, I ordered a cocktail but later realized it came from a can, so I politely walked up to ask if I could change my drink order. Instead of quietly handling it, she yelled across the restaurant to the bartender to cancel the espresso martini. The restaurant wasn't loud, so it just felt awkward and uncomfortable. When the food arrived, it was simply dropped off with no explanation. The small plates were hidden under oversized napkins, and when my friend asked if we could get small plates, the waitress pointed and said, "They're right there." There were three of us and only two plates, so we had to ask again anyway. Then when our drinks came out, she held the tray out and told us to "grab your drinks" instead of setting them down herself. She didn't say it rudely, but it felt odd from a service standpoint. To be fair, the food and drinks themselves were good. That's what makes this more disappointing because the place really could be great with better hospitality and attention to service. This place has 10/10 views and the terrace, and there's the extent of it. The food is OK, the drinks depend on the day, and the service is subpar. Once I ordered a tequila drink which was so strong and one dimensional (not enough sour nor sweet), but the Hugo spritzes were standard (can't mess them up that much). A friend of mine ordered espresso martini once, only for the server to tell her they have it but cannot serve it (?), and then later bringing her a version of it that has much left to be desired. Went to The Cove for the first time this past week and instantly recommended it to my family after. Aside from the obvious breathtaking views, the space itself was designed beautifully and felt open enough that even though it was busy, it never felt crowded. And what really set it apart for me was the service. Their staff from the hostess, servers and manager, were super friendly and accommodating. They had perfect timing on checking if I needed anything and looked happy to be there. They also have local DJs come out which I thought was a nice touch for the community. We tried the marinated olives which had a beautiful orange zest, the artichoke dip featuring crackers that almost made me chip a tooth and a fantastic pesto flatbread! To drink we had Sarti spritz! A fun new cocktail out of Italy, it's part of the spritz family and features sarti which is Sicilian blood orange, mango and passion fruit. Not to mention it's pink, ADORABLE! There was a DJ playing house style music, and the restaurant quickly filled up as it got closer to the evening. The food and ambience was enjoyable but the service was very disappointing. I met my friends there for a birthday we were celebrating. When I got there my friend asked me if I had ordered a bottle of prosecco they brought to the table without saying anything and even poured it out. We assumed it was complimentary and started to drink it. 20 mins later somebody came by to say that they made a mistake and if we were "good with it". What are you supposed to say to that when you've already started to drink from the glass? We had to flag someone down multiple times for silverware and a missed drink order. From the start, our host was rude and unwelcoming. They forgot our order, and it took an unreasonably long time just to get someone's attention to check in. When we finally did, they brushed us off with a curt "it's on the way," without any apology for the delay. When our food finally arrived - Jamón and melon - it was incredibly underwhelming for the price. By the end of the meal, we were so neglected that we had to walk up to the front desk to ask to pay our bill. I understand that being out of stock on certain items happens during soft openings, but the staff's overall attitude made it clear they didn't care to help customers at all. My friend and I came on a late Friday evening to grab a drink and food. The place is right on the water and has both indoor and outdoor seating. There was a long line out the door which is expected on a sunny day. With only two of us, one of the workers gave us a standing spot on the narrow table top outside. Unfortunately, it took 10 mins to get a menu and then another 15 to order two Hugo sprits and a side of potatoes. When we asked to order the flatbread, the waitress said there wasn't enough room on the table and we can't order it since the area is more for standing. We were famished so she let us order the potatoes anyways. After another 30 mins we never received our drinks or app, and was told the worker who first greeted us when we entered the store, never put our name down on the waitlist. At that point, we left. Although they appeared to have a lot of staff, tables remained dirty for a while and we could only see one bartender. We were also told by a few workers that there's a lot of reservations but there's no-shows, so I'm not sure why people weren't seated quickly. The only reasons why I knocked down my rating were because I had to pull a different staff member to pay my tab after waiting half an hour with no check in from our previous waiter. The sandwich had roasted red peppers, argula and some kind of thick cheese slice - must be new menu addition as no where in searching for specs does it exist at this time. Tasty. The bread was super soft, which was a happy surprise and cheese was gooey. They don't have an extensive wine list, but there's still a good variety of 6 choices per of red, white & roses. There was also sparkling, beer and non-alcoholic beverages to pick from. Overall it felt a little pricey for a "hang out over wine" spot. Decent service. Not sure I'll return. read more
