I personally like that there isn't a pool, gym etc. because then I am not paying for something that I may or may not use. The front office is very nice and quick with any questions. The maintenance team is visibly around every day and answers trouble calls quickly, even calling to see what a good time for you is. My car never got broken into, and I always saw patrol officers driving around the property. The grounds are well kept, and the community is well lit at night. There are no hidden fees, and they did not raise my rent when I renewed. Some "CONS" is the neighbors above me had a toddler and I could hear them walking/running around their apartment. I could also hear their washer or maybe their dishwasher running at night. I never complained because I just didn't let it bother me. I saw one homeless person one time around the BBQs, but he wasn't harming anyone. Someone else parked in my parking spot one time. If you are on the first floor, the windows are a little too "see through" at night with the lights on, so I bought blackout curtains and put them up. If there are multiple dogs in the turf area at once, you may hear them barking at each other for a short amount of time. Some mornings or night I would smell Marijuana in the area. Overall, I loved my time here!

First of all they were built sometime back so even though these pricey pricey condo type apartments for even more money than here which isn't too bad here Shasta Lane apartments have living rooms that are large and spacious connected to a dining room and a kitchen then there's a hallway and then a bathroom on one side the bedroom on one side and wow walk inclosets! I say this because this feels like a home it is not compacted at all I believe it was built in the seventies but it might have even been the 50s and they just read you the parking lot as well as the roofs so everything is wonderful and they are remodeled in different ways at different times so everybody has some special kind of thing about their apartment that makes it special to them we talk amongst each other and it's a friendly place. But more than that it's been the people that work here that make it real community for me. When I left to go to a funeral in Denver where I am from, the resident relations manager who is in my building and we keep a quiet building said Shasta Lane is a family we will welcome you back. That touched me because I haven't made a lot of friends yet in california! I also want to mention somebody else, somebody very special at fixing anything you can think of someone that any business would want if they didn't need a lot of trouble and other experts and just wanted one man that could do it all and sometime with an assistant his name is Brandon Fronhoefer, the senior service manager. I never have to worry about things costing here even though renters insurance is required because the place really doesn't need a lot of repair in all of these apartments are sturdily built and not only that, the senior business manager Lorraine Seward seems to really have work with some people that took advantage of the covid no pay rent because they did not read the law and suddenly were left with oh my goodness I have to pay it all at once all back. They did not read the statute, and that is unfortunate. For some time the rain worked with these people, I noticed that people were allowed to stay for some time past the time they could repay it so that seems to have come to an end it is understandable and that is why the rent has gone up all over town. I have bad credit but I always pay my rent first. I also want to say that the staff has been especially patient with me because I have a mental illness combined with a head injury, I appear normal speak normal and do a lot of things just like everyone else, but the staff is aware of my condition and they are so sensitive it it is unbelievable! I highly recommend moving here is a wonderful place don't worry about the price I couldn't find anything cheaper in Chu la Vista you'll do well here you'll enjoy it it even has a hot tub and heated floors in my bedroom and living room amazing amazing view out of the patio facing west and a palm tree for my Colorado fun time I love San Diego and this has been a wonderful experience thank you Shasta Lane apartments. I showed up for the tour and the leasing office was closed with a sign saying it would not reopen until October 14th. There was no communication to me to reschedule or that my tour date and time was no longer available. First off they don't clean anything outside of the complex. Absolutely nothing. Smells like piss on the elevators and inside the laundry rooms. The apartments itself are nice at first glance, wait about a week and everything starts falling apart. The counters are painted very cheaply so everything stains right away. Im a very clean person. As soon as a drop of coffee landed on the counter, it STAINED! They say the facilities are open 24/7 they're only open when the office is open. 9am-6pm. Everything gets locked up when they go home. The washer and dryers NEVER work! Upon move out we cleaned the place spotless! We emailed the leasing office to do a walk through, well because of covid, we couldn't be there. That already made me uneasy because I wouldn't be able to be there while they looked at things. They emailed us back saying the windows on the outside of the 3rd floor are dirty! you got to be kidding me! The 3rd floor!? So then my gf goes back to clean more and they sent her an email of what we needed to pay for. Long story short we ended having to pay to move out!!! The place was SPOTLESS! They play football at the parking lot like its safe. Theres bums rummaging the trash everyday. Just like everywhere else, this is overpriced for what it is thanks to inflation. The driveway to get in and out is too tight and people not living here dropping package daily thinks you fit so they won't back up while you get stuck in traffic while you get honked at from behind on a fast going street. Should I say more? Go rent a room, save a downpayment and buy a house elsewhere cheaper. Save yourselves. This won't get any better.

I had done tons of research when I first started looking at apartments and I had 3 main must-haves: fair price, safe area, and cleanliness. Fountains Apartments has all of that. So my only guess for why there are some disgruntled opinions on here about this place may be due to unrealistic expectations/standards. If your checklist for choosing an apartment is similar to mine - this place, in my opinion, is the one to choose :) In addition to meeting my must-haves, the neighbors are incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate/communicate for everyone's best interest. It's a very family environment here with tenants that have lived here for 5+ years. I also absolutely love the property manager, Megan. She is constantly working on bettering the complex and building relationships with the tenants here. I have never had a property manager that puts so much heart into her work, and for myself, I feel a huge sense of security living in a place that has that. As far as cons to this place - I don't really have any. It's fairly priced, safe in a beautiful area, and clean :) I have never made the effort to review something before but because I'm just pretty shocked at all the harsh comments made about this complex, I feel like it's only fair to share how wonderful I think this place is.
