I love this place for breakfast and brunch. It has a nice atmosphere. The service is SLOW. Not just regular slow... extremely slow. Im not exactly sure why management has not figured this out yet, or if they really even care. It would be nice to go to the cornerstone and feel appreciated as a customer by the staff, I really enjoy the food but am always so reluctant because it takes 20 minutes just to get a water even when the restaurant isnt very full. Like I said, I do love this place in a lot of ways, the food is very good, but the service is so hit and miss that Im often reluctant to even bother because you never know if your breakfast will take a full hour to get to your table. read more

The food was some of the best vegan food I've ever had. I ordered the pad Thai and the BBQ tempeh wrap. I would of recommended this to everyone I know if it wasn't for the fact I was staring four-five cockroachs down the whole time. I informed the server and she moved us but it didn't help my appetite much. Unfortunately I won't be going back, such a shame for amazing food. Water was just warm tap water also. read more

Boyfriend and I were very excited to try this place last night after reading the high reviews on yelp. The antojitos were the highlight (as advertised), especially served with the delicious roasted tomato salsa. The guacamole was also better than we expected considering that Mexican food, even "border Mexican" food, is not well represented in these parts. For entrées we ordered the club sandwich and the "legendary" black bean burger. Boyfriend enjoyed his club sandwich. My black bean burger was ok - a bit bland. The bun was too small as well. The mixed-green salads were simple, but more satisfying than the burger. The atmosphere was very queer-friendly, which was a plus. It was a bit of a hipster cliché - the sort of place where folks think that certain clothing choices make them interesting - but that comes with the vegan-queer territory. The service was adequate, though far from warm. The manager - or whatever he was - was the low-point; he practically threw our "Club?!" & "Burger?!" at us. His smugness left a bad taste. read more

The Cornerstone has a great atmosphere unless you're intimidate by judgey hipsters, which there are aplenty and the food is good but the services is consistently bad. It's been bad for years. The odd time you get an attentive server and food that doesn't take too long but it is more often that an almost empty restaurant can still mean a grilled cheese sandwich takes 45 minutes to make. My poor 3 year old was starving by the time it arrived. This is one example but I've been going for years and it's often that bad. read more

This is a lovely little gem of a restaurant. My daughter is a vegetarian so the family went here for her birthday last Tuesday, and even my husband (an avid carnivore) loved it! The food is satisfying and the atmosphere is wonderful. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Definitely will return with my girlfriends sometime! read more

I love vegetarian Ruben sandwitches. Love. This place has the best one I've ever had. Service was a little slow, but it was worth it.

We have been to this restaurant before and would give it 4 stars - losing 1 for cold near the front windows. Lost another 2 stars today for the awful collapsed $12.75 pancakes (after 45 minute wait) and unasked for promise by the chef to "dock them from the bill". The waiter charged for the garnish home fries at &4.50 plus $5 for 2 coffees. Begs the question. Why on earth did they not make new pancakes? read more

Food took an unreasonably long time to come out. Once it did it was only mediocre. One of the servers was incredibly rude.

The service is usually good, it's nice they have a patio. Let me start by saying I'm not vegan/vegetarian if I was maybe I'd like it more, I really don't like any of the breakfasts. That said I like the bean dip, the grilled cheese is the best I've had ever anywhere and not expensive, the burrito's are good, the coffee is good. read more

Such a disappointment! Ordered the bean burger and tomato soup, the burger was uninspired, lacking in flavour, toppings and presentation. But the soup...completely ineatable, tasted like canned tomatoes pureed and heated. Friend had the pad thai, not really a pad thai at all, salty gooey rice noodles. Really nice waitress, cute enough interiors and the overall vibe was cool and comfortable, too bad the food sucks. read more

Right in the middle of downtown. First thing after you get off the bus at the station. The first thing I tried there was the Three Cheese pizza and.... I liked it so much I can never bring myself to order anything else. Go there about twice a month, at least, and I don't even live in guelph. It's true about the hipster vibe, but they're not too in-your-face about it. read more

The Cornerstone is an absolutely perfect place for a light meal. The staff there are so kind and if there's a problem with food taking a long time, they give a percentage off. They have excellent food, their caesar salad is amazing as well as their pizza. I know being friends with vegetarians and vegans, they have a wide variety of food that is palatable to all sorts of foodies. The staff are very friendly, and the chefs are very adaptive to food requests. Overall, The cornerstone is an amazing restaurant with amazing food and amazing service. Highly recommend it! read more
