When in Canada I try to indulge in a few Canadian things...and when in eastern Canada, crepes is one of my favorites. Cafe du Monde had a variety of savory and sweet crepes. I had a breakfast crepe that was loaded with tenderly sautéed Brussels sprouts...didn't expect that. But when I asked if I could replace the bacon with vegetables, the co-owner/cashier said "bring it on" and offered a list of awesome options, allowing me to pile my crepe with an excellent selection of veggies. Aside from scrambled eggs, with romaine, onions, mushrooms, fresh basil and aioli, I added gruyere and the aforementioned Brussels sprouts! Their crepe batter made the perfect thin yet light flavorful crepé to hold all my deliciousness. The fresh strawberries and bananas for the sweet options looked perfect and ripe, the apples and caramel drizzle almost made me rethink my savory, and of course they offered Nutella if you want your added decadence with your sweet crepe. My only wish is that that they had non-dairy chocolate milk to go with their fresh dairy chocolate milk in an individual old school bottle. The patio and interior area are open for dine-in, automatic touch free bathroom doors. They have limited hours of operation and days so call before you go, but if they are open...treat yourself!

Really great place for breakfast! I had my first one here when my boss took me out for my birthday…read more Our server was Jamie, and she was so nice and friendly. She even helped my boss pick an omelet, which he enjoyed very much. The restaurant was clean. My only complaint is that we were seated in a booth next to a window with the sun pouring in, and the weather was heat wave temperatures, so it was a bit hot, but other than that, it was a perfect experience. I had the Benedict Skillet, and it was delicious. The fresh peppers were a perfect contrast with the rich benedict sauce. They do their hollandaise right. The yolks were a touch too done for me, but I'm gluten free, and they had a GF English muffin that was much better than others I've had elsewhere. My breakfast came with a fruit plate, which was very generous and the fruits were fresh. I gave this to my boss because he really wanted one but those don't come with omelets. The potatoes in the skillet were very good also. Generous serving too that I couldn't finish. I do, also, like their coffee. I can't speak for the omelet my boss had, but he finished every bite, so that speaks for itself. Our server was so nice too. She had these little smile earrings, just the smiley mouth with the curved corners like off a smiley face. She said she'd gotten them during the pandemic to bring some positivity and happiness. It's really nice to meet upbeat people like that who enjoy other people and try to bring something good into the world, even in the worst of times. Definitely enjoyed eating here and will again very soon!

I really enjoy that they post their daily selections on Facebook and their website. They had a large selection of sweet treats and breads available even near closing time. Food: I ordered a German chocolate cupcake, an eggnog tiny cake, and a pink macaroon. The eggnog tiny cake's frosting was quite sweet but the cake itself balanced it out very nicely, leaving you with a true eggnog flavor. The pink macaroon was not shaped like a classic macaroon but was rectangular and had three distinct layers. On top was a very sweet, pink frosting, then the coconut mixture, and finally a hard crust on bottom. Unfortunately, I did not like it at all. Lastly, I had the German chocolate cupcake. The cake was very moist and the classic German chocolate frosting was tasty. Service/Location: The service was great as I was welcomed when first arriving and afterwards there was always someone ready to assist me. Since the bakery is downtown there is ample parking and other shops to explore but the area can get busy. Price: I paid $4.00 for the German chocolate cupcake, $3.75 for the eggnog tiny cake (though in the display the price was listed at $4.00), and $2.35 for the pink macaroon. Overall, a decent value. Conclusion: Based on these three desserts, I was not overly impressed. Perhaps I would enjoy some of their other desserts more, therefore in the future I may return to see what else they have to offer.
