Excellent restaurant and friendly staff. It is an old establishment so expect old. Food is good. Good prices. We enjoyed it with our kids.

We waited for about half an hour (they told us 15min) to get seated inside the restaurant. Once we got seated, we waited about another 15-20min to have the waitress say hello to us. I ordered a coffee and once I got my cup, there was a lipstick stain on it! The waitress didn't really apologize, just took it and got me another cup. Menu has a lot of variety. We ended up ordering the Smoked Salmon Benedict and the Grilled Cheese & Bacon Benedict. The Smoked Salmon Benedict was pretty average, but we really enjoyed the Grilled Cheese & Bacon Benedict! It was definitely something different and surprisingly really good! Prices were average diner pricing...I would probably do take out next time.

Please check out that thick homemade gravy on the fries & the large fresh white onion ring on the melted cheddar Russell Williams burger!

We've passed the big signs for this diner on the road many times after dropping by the RBG Arboretum for birdwatching. On July 11th we made a day of it at the RBG because we intended to watch a live concert there that evening (They're having live country or jazz performances through the summer at RBG this year), so we decided to try out Russell Williams for lunch. We can now easily see why this family run diner has stayed in business in Burlington since 1930. Yelpers, you could come here just for the thick homemade gravy I had on my fries, it was THAT GOOD! Worthy every penny of the 99 cents extra to cover the big crispy fries. The signature Russell Williams burgers were so huge I couldn't finish mine, even though I have a hearty appetite. There were big white fresh onion rings, almost bigger than the huge burger. My youngest tried out their Grilled Cheese Burger. It looked so delicious that I'm definitely ordering that next time I'm here! Hubby decided to have rice pudding for desssert and it was brought to the table steaming hot and sprinkled with cinnamon. I chose a lemon meringue pie and the waitress apologized that the slice was cut unevenly and too big LOL! What a shame I was handed too much deliciousness! I promptly asked my bottomless pit youngest who still has a teen's voracious appetite to share the too big lemon meringue pie slice with me. A gluttonous happy time was had by all 4 of us! We will definitely be back to Russell Williams--it's our kind of diner!

It was a wonderful atmosphere with soft instrumental music and the ability to hear the conversation of people at your table. To start, there was toasted bread with feta cheese and dill pickles. The starter salad was a huge supper entree size plate. The choice wax garden or Cesar. You could get the French Onion soup instead. Had the main Filet Peppercorn sauce. Asked for medium rare and it was amazing but it had a little much gravy for my liking. The baked potato side was a nice side (not too big) which came with butter and sour cream versus having french fries. Veggies were a few string beans, a slice of a big carrot and a piece of red sweet pepper. The plating of such fine expensive entrees was not very sophisticated. Thought it would be plated much nicer than it did. The server was very friendly and helpful. Chefs were accommodating to special requests and the food was excellent. A nice, special occasions/ celebration restaurant. It is better than a chain restaurant.

The portions were fantastic, large fresh pieces of fish, no junk tail pieces either, super Delicious!! As for the fries, another WOW moment, just freaking outstanding fries. Hammerheads brilliantly fries their food in beef fat, which adds a ton of flavour, the fries were just crazy good as was the fish. Service was excellent its a take out place, very high paced, Mike the main guy was awesome. They are however flooded with orders, but luckily that doesn't affect the quality in any way, when busy, take out takes a bit longer, but ask anyone waiting, its so very worth it, i'll be back over and over!

So far I've tried their poke bowls, lobster rolls, and frozen lobster tails. All have been very delicious. The tuna poke bowls in particular are some of the best I've ever had - the flavors and textures are simply perfection. Hammerheads on Locke have already proven to be an amazing community partner - and offer pop up food at local businesses. I attended a film premiere party at Steel Town Cider where Hammerheads on Locke were serving up poke bowls. Cider + poke = match made in heaven! Super friendly and helpful staff - love this place!! So thrilled the Ottawa Street location decided to expand.

Fine Dining... casually!…read more When a restaurant delivers the best meals, with top shelf service in an intimate setting, you call that Michelin Star or at least recommended. When you do it effortlessly, you call that Buvette, a new standard in Casual Fine Dining. I had the most wonderful evening at Buvette in Burlington. Yes ... Burlington. Far away but worth the drive. Step in and friendly salutations are offered, along with overheard lively conversations of happy patrons that have been looking forward to a night out. It's been a long few years, and Buvette has spent their time setting up and after only opening 8 months ago, they are shaking up the dining scene. The home reimagined and constructed into Buvette is gorgeous. The passthrough fireplace, with Buvette proudly emblazoned on it, plays the center piece. The sunken sunroom dining area, the intimate bar, stairs to the second floor dining area all pass by warmth of the fire. And of course, opposite to the fireplace is the glass encased small collection of fine wines. Though Buvette is a Winebar, let's not forget their handcrafted cocktails. The owner was cheeky and named them after businesses around the historic Village Square of Downtown Burlington. From carpaccio to cauliflower bites, burrata to pastas, steaks to lobster, the names may be standard, but the food here is elevated to a whole new level. My fav? Obvisouly The Buvette Signature Share Platter! A mouthwatering board featuring steak, lobster, shrimps, lamb, and all the fixings. Whether you are here for vibes and drinks, spend some quality time with family, or a special someone, you really came to the right place. My night was amazing, however, take a gander at the menu before heading out. The place is casual but don't forget, it is Fine Dining. Bring your card made of metal... or someone you know that is!!! Downtown Burlington continues to impress me as a place for upscale living, and I think Buvette has given me another reason to perhaps make a move? Hmmm... CHEERS!!!
