WOW WOW WOW!! absolutely the best Fish and Chips I've had…read morein many years, i ordered the haddock and fries, the batter was thin and crispy, its gluten free too, not that i would have noticed as crispy as it was, the fish was fried perfectly. The portions were fantastic, large fresh pieces of fish, no junk tail pieces either, super Delicious!! As for the fries, another WOW moment, just freaking outstanding fries. Hammerheads brilliantly fries their food in beef fat, which adds a ton of flavour, the fries were just crazy good as was the fish. Service was excellent its a take out place, very high paced, Mike the main guy was awesome. They are however flooded with orders, but luckily that doesn't affect the quality in any way, when busy, take out takes a bit longer, but ask anyone waiting, its so very worth it, i'll be back over and over!

So far I've tried their poke bowls, lobster rolls, and frozen lobster tails. All have been very delicious. The tuna poke bowls in particular are some of the best I've ever had - the flavors and textures are simply perfection. Hammerheads on Locke have already proven to be an amazing community partner - and offer pop up food at local businesses. I attended a film premiere party at Steel Town Cider where Hammerheads on Locke were serving up poke bowls. Cider + poke = match made in heaven! Super friendly and helpful staff - love this place!! So thrilled the Ottawa Street location decided to expand.

For all you seafood lovers in the west end, don't even bother going downtown or into any Asian…read moresupermarket to buy fresh fish because this is your place. I'm so with Liz B. on this one - I will never buy seafood anywhere else. The store is a pretty decent size, very, very clean and does NOT smell like fish. The servers are so polite and helpful and I noticed all the patrons were civilized; there was no pushing, shoving or yelling; everyone just politely waited their turn. They have another store in St. Lawrence Market which we've been to on numerous occasions but, being from Etobicoke and all the closures on the Gardiner, this is far more convenient. It's on Vansco, a side street that runs off North Queen but, for those of you who aren't too familiar with the area, you can catch it off the Queensway (very close to IKEA). I could see this being convenient for those of you in east Mississauga. You won't have trouble with parking as they have a private lot. I paid with debit but I'm sure they accept most major credit cards. They have frozen shrimp, scallops, lobster tails, etc. in all sizes. I also recall seeing cans of crabmeat and smoked salmon as well. As for the fresh fish, there was sea bass, grouper, catfish, swordfish, sole, tuna, etc. - lots to choose from. The tuna looked like it was sushi grade. They also had an array of fresh shell fish as well such as oysters, mussels, huge scallops and shrimp. For the pre-made food, some of the selections were stuffed sole, some awesome looking crab-stuffed calamari and I saw a stuffed salmon (very similar looking to what Costco sells). They also have specialty groceries on a separate side but I was on my lunch break so I didn't have too much time on my hands to browse. Anyway, I bought six calamari tubes with a whole bunch of tentacles for $10.25 and six large, fresh shrimp for $3.95 - great deal!

If you come in the summer, I recommend checking out the grounds out side behind the main parking lot. Stalls and stalls of food, every day essentials, and nicknacks. If parking is full, additional parking is located in the parkade above the Library and YMCA witch is free of charge on weekends and durring bowldogs games. I highlyrecommend checking this place out for anyone looking to find fresh items when staying in brantford, or if you don't like the massive crouds at ST jacobs.

You can find some much fresh seafood, meats, vegetables, fruits, local honey, candy, cheeses, and even cooked ready-to-eat foods. This particular visit I got some ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS candied smoke salmon. It's to die for! I got my usual moldy bleu cheese. Soooo good. I interested to try the goat cheese for the first time. Some fresh soft blueberry muffins. For later I bought a vegetable lasagna and stuffed shells for tomorrow. The facility is not very big but there is so much quality. After shopping I sat at the cafe to have a fresh strawberry lemonade and a grilled cheese sandwich. Yum! The vendors are pretty consistent. I haven't seen much change in the last year I've been coming here. Why mess with a good thing. The vendors and patrons alike a very friendly and quick to answer any questions you may have. I had a lot. Lol. Bring your own bag and be ready to fill it full. This place is a real treat. Parking is plentiful

I don't know that it is in the category of Lobels in New York or Peoria Packing of Chicago, but from what I had, it was very good. I also just learned that the Senator Restaurant in Toronto uses Cumbrae's beef. I haven't been back to the Senator since 1991, but it was at that time, a very good restaurant. My review is not for the meat, it is for the staff. I don't frequent butcher shops, but my past experiences have been very different from this shop. There are no old, grumpy, loud men in bloodied white coats here. Instead, they seem to have found a stable of really hot, cute young girls that love to handle raw meat. I don't get it, but each one is cuter and prettier than the next. Brunettes, blondes, red heads, its like the Sunday Funday girls of the Playboy Mansion are working here. I could cast a Bravo reality show here."The cute coeds of Cumbraes." You could do a calendar that would make the Tempe 12 look ordinary. The guys in the back are also young, like a college hockey team. I am not sure if this hiring is on purpose, or the norm for small Canadian butcher shops, but it works. I think even hardcore vegans would have a hard time avoiding this place.
