Tucked among vast businesses is HT Fish, which as the name Sais, sells mainly seafood. Their seafood is always fresh and is at affordable prices that won't break your bank. I buy salmon and shrimps mostly but there are tons of varieties to choose. Owned by a very young and hard working couple, Yao and his wife (with now a baby) are always friendly, knowledgeable and serviceable. Their stand is located downstairs, right by the ramp. There are free side street parking if you are able to find it. If not, pay for parking.

It has a fairly wide ranging menu and the selection of oysters available was excellent and my companion enjoyed her choice of the Raspberry Point. Understanding this is not a primarily a fish & chip establishment I did, based on my experience from the UK, probably set the bar too high or this was a one off scenario. The haddock had the texture of a pre-frozen product and the batter unappetizing, thick and greasy. The chips were likely refried, thin, small and pre-salted which a previous reviewer on Trip Advisor also noted. The Coleslaw was DOA. Service was courteous and attentive although my dish took 20+ minutes to arrive but likely due to it being a busy time. I'm grading my dish 2 out of 5. However that being said I would and will likely return to sample another item. Reservations are recommended even at lunchtime to avoid sitting (comfortably) at the bar.

It was nearly full on a Sunday afternoon, so service moved a little slowly, but the staff stayed friendly and attentive. Appetizers: - PEI Mussels - Mermaid Chowder Mains: - Shrimp Roll - Lobster Grilled Cheese Dessert: - New York-Style Cheesecake The seafood was fresh and generously portioned. My shrimp roll was light, tangy, and surprisingly plentiful, and the chowder had a hearty amount of clams--comforting without being overly heavy. The lobster grilled cheese was rich and indulgent in the best way. We finished with a classic cheesecake that rounded out the meal nicely. Overall, a satisfying experience and a lovely little spot for seafood in Oakville. Would happily return to explore more of the menu.

T&J seafoods offers one flavour of candied salmon that's made weekly in small batches (it's not too popular out east I suppose). It's smoked and seasoned with peppercorn. There's barely a sweet flavour and there's a lot of peppery spiciness. The salmon is also much tougher and I even found some small bones in a few of the pieces. It is good value for $9/half lbs of candied salmon and it's nice that they vacuum seal it for you when you buy it. FINAL VERDICT: After tasting the maple syrup candied and smoked Sockeye candied salmon variations from Vancouver, BC's Granville Island market, T&J just doesn't match up in terms of freshness, quality, or flavour.
