Our favourite breakfast place! They always have great service with super friendly staff. The food portions are huge and worth the money. Highly recommend! read more

We came here for a Saturday lunch for 3 and we were able to get seated pretty much immediately. There was a limited time item that was a guacamole sausage breakfast sandwich with choice of bun. The picture on the wall looked pretty good so I ordered it. I ordered mine on a brioche bun. It's funny because when the food came, she actually asked me to check my sandwich to make sure there was a guacamole on it. It definitely wasn't ample like it was in the pictures. It also seemed like it was clearly the type you get out of a tube because it was creamy and green with no chopped tomatoes or red onions in it. At the end of the day, it was still tasty. read more

My group of 3 came in on a Tuesday at 10:50am. Our waitress, Poppy, was so welcoming. She was friendly, funny and genuinely a sweet lady. They were advertising the Sunset Sandwich on their windows so that's what I ordered. My group also ordered the eggs florentine w/home fries, the French toast and a side of bacon. Service was so quick. Every dish came out by 11:02am. Poppy checked in with us periodically. She was so attentive! She made me feel real good when she called me by my name. Due to the pandemic, one person from your group needs to provide your name and a number for contact tracing. That's how she knew my name. To be honest when my group suggested this place to eat, I had low expectations for diner food as well as for it being a chain restaurant. But when I entered this establishment I was greeted with a friendly smile, the service was great and the food was pretty darn good! read more

Food is great price is right and the staff are excellent. My favourite is the Sunny Blue with blueberry pancake three eggs and bacon. The place is clean and well organized. read more

In my mind, there are few things better than: - unlimited diner coffee - eggs (in any form, really) - good company - finding a "go-to" place to enjoy all of the above That is what this Sunset Grill location is for me. Sure it's a franchise, but this is a great example of how the people can really make or break an establishment. The family who owns this location makes you feel like just that...family! The staff is always personable, friendly, want to chat with you for more than just taking your order, and remember you from previous visits (even if they don't actually, it feels that way and I'll take it). The food is always fresh, hot, and portions are large! Service is always super quick, but there is no rush to eat and head out. Some of my favourites - Eggs Sunset (Benedict) because...of course - Sunset Healthy Breakfast Sandwich - Great Canadian Omelette - Waffles On weekends, definitely expect a line. Patience, patience. It's worth it! I have also ordered delivery during COVID and I was so impressed on the packing of the food and the fact that it tasted exactly the same as being in the restaurant. It just goes to show we can still experience our favourites even in a lockdown! read more

We were visiting from California and this restaurant had the best service& staff! the most friendly people and the food was amazing! We will definitely be returning to this place. ( highly recommended) read more

Great service from Matthew , great food in quality and quantity , gorgeous weather on the patio

Classic breakfast joint with huge pancakes. Went out for Father's Day and decide to try Sunset Grill for the first time. Would definitely come back and visit another one of their locations. Price: Prices are great! Breakfast options range from $9-11. Overall a great value restaurant for the amount you're paying. With the multitude of restaurants I feel they have more freedom to reduce prices to keep pricing competitive. Service: Service was awesome. Even on Father's day the service was great. Sue was our server and she was very friendly and helpful. Food: Food was delicious! I had the three eggs & bacon, although I substituted the eggs for tomato slices. Overall the meal was delicious. This and the pancakes are must-haves if you visit. Atmosphere: We sat outside (inside was full) and their patio was quite nice. They had a heater and huge umbrellas for shading. If it's a nice day then try the patio option. read more

Look out! The portions are huge-- so just expect to get a to-go box. The food was very obviously fresh and cooked cleanly. And... delicious. Was wishing I had an additional stomach so I could keep eating. Had a veggie egg white omelette with peameal bacon. Great flavor!! read more

It's standard franchise breakfast. Not great not terrible. Price is ... ehh. Could be better.

A solid choice for breakfast in Oakville. The service is excellent, the food is good and the combinations a good value. The coffee is good and they serve both coffee cream and 2% milk. We had the French connection (3eggs, two pieces of French Toast and home fries) and the Eggs Sunset (an eggs benedict with three eggs, peameal bacon on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce). The portions are nicely sized and the food very good. The hollandaise was particularly good for a breakfast spot. The French Toast was nice and thick and well prepared. If I lived in Oakville, this would be a go to spot. Why not a five star? Like most production kitchens (there was a short wait when we came and a line when we left), special requests are very hard to fulfill. "Softly scrambled" eggs came out the usual way and well done home fries were not well at all. I did not complain and the food was still very good. All in all, highly recommended. read more

Fast, and always good. It can be noisy though and not a place for a leisurely brunch.

Love the breakfast there. Service is always great. You can also eat outside. Every time we went there, the restaurant is full of people having breakfast. read more

It was the greasiest breakfast I've ever had. I put a dot of ketchup on my eggs, Lol it slid right off. I used two napkins to clean the grease off the bacon. I should've been warned by the table next to me with all the discarded meat still on the plates. Who leaves 3 bacon strips and sausage on there plates. Order was wrong on My wife's meal. Sorry spending 35 dollars on two breakfasts it should be amazing. I would not recommend this Establishment for your well-deserved breakfast. read more

Good food and even better service! SUPER PRO: - Sue! She was just awesome! Very friendly, good recommendations, and just super in general - God Bless :) PROS: - Clean - Family friendly - Good food, made with love - Nice portions - Very reasonable cost CONS: - No Halal menu options VERDICT: Great customer service, good food, reasonable prices - this is hands down one of the best. I've visited another location from this chain before and was less-than impressed. I was in the area and needed a good breakfast heading into a long day, so I decided to try it again. This location is relatively new, and nicely decorated. The server was alone at the time, but managing about 10 tables and doing a great job in spite of that. That was at 7am on a Saturday, so they seem doing well for business. I ordered the corn beef hash, which came with the usual suspects (toast, 3 eggs). I don't know what the standard preparation of the dish is, but I view Jim's Hideaway in Streetsville as my personal standard. In that regard, I prefer Jim's which integrates the potato and corned beef together; whereas here it was separate. I also feel the corned beef preparation wasn't as good either - not to say that I didn't enjoy it however. The scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked which mirrored my previous experience at another Sunset. This experience was at least better than my other visit to this chain, and at least opened me up to coming again. That said, there's a few other places I'd choose first if I'm closer to them. read more

Despite being a chain, this small breakfast spot hidden in a strip mall is a gem! It's always packed and for good reason! First off even with a line of people waiting, we only had a 10 minute wait for the table. The menu is extensive including a kids menu. The service is fantastic, lovely waitresses. Feel like I'm in an old school family owned diner. Overall the food is really good, if you're feeling guilty there are many healthy options. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

This Sunset location is clean with lots of seating and a basic breakfast and lunch menu. The problem here was the length of time it took to get served after being seated. They were understaffed and that definitely tainted our experience. The food is OK, however the service was, in our case, very bad or I should say slow since the server we did finally get was very nice. If the service was better, I would frequent this place more often as a decent breakfast spot. read more

First time we've been to Sunset since the virus. Worst breakfast ever; the hash browns were just boiled pot, eggs runny, potatoes and service very poor. There must have been a management change. Save your money, its nothing special and my wife makes a better breakfast. read more

Sunset Grill - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Oakville, Ontario

Not bad at all. I went there with three of my friends for a weekday brunch service on Thursday. Three of the guys had the regular pancakes, and one of the guys had the "Sunset Deluxe" (bacon, eggs, toast and sausage). No complaints from anybody, and the food was really inexpensive. I did find the pancakes to be a bit generic and it tasted a little bland without maple syrup. My buddy said that the Deluxe meal was fantastic, though. What really made the difference was the customer service. Despite the restaurant being packed, our server was very diligent and refilled our coffee every 10 minutes. The woman was very polite and kind, and was never too far away. Decor was excellent: very modern look. I would come back, but I would get something different than the pancakes. read more

Second time to Sunset. Had the strawberry pancakes last time and they were delish. Busy on a Sunday morning but didn't wait too long for a seat. Ordered veggie omelette this time around. Coffee is a bit weak Service is friendly and great. Definitely come back again and again read more

So delicious! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. The food was on point as well. Sitting outside was beat for my little love and I.

Solid breakfast place that is casual and serves fast, good food. The most expensive dish is around $15 but most of them range from $10 under. It's so reasonably priced and the waiters are so kind and attentive. Asking if we wanted more water, coffee and so on. We were in and out with our food in 35 min which is pretty swift and the food was good. I highly recommend the french toast and sausage. Also, the fresh squeezed juices was so delicious - got the orange and grapefruit mixed together. Will be coming back here and you can also check out the back patio! read more

I came here last week and was not disappointed. The bacon here is juicy and thick, not thin and burnt. The eggs were fluffy and the portion sizes were hefty. I always leave with leftovers for a late morning snack because they put so much on your plate. Of course, the home fries are a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service is always impeccable! read more

Ate there yesterday. It had been quite a while. This place always delivers exactly as promised. Food perfect, staff are friendly and attentive. Do come here for breakfast. The hiring of staff is very solid. At any time of day there appear to be at least two owners' family members in the restaurant. It probably adds to the high level of service. Food quality very high and consistent. Only 4/5 because it's more of diner than a formal restaurant. These people know how to operate a breakfast restaurant. read more

If you just need some food go there, if you want an enjoyable breakfast out do not go there. I was surprised their sign says famous. Famous for what? Bad food and service? We ordered the 3 eggs breakfast with juice, coffee and water. The coffee was not refilled until the end of the meal, the water was never refilled and the juice never came. There were 4 other tables in the restaurant, and 4 staff working with a manager. The waitress seemed put off when I asked for marmalade. Will not return even though it was cheap. The bacon was salty, the toast was not really toasted, the eggs were a little runny, the hash browns were under cooked.... read more
