I make the commute to Niagara often and struggle to find a place for lunch or brunch just off the QEW. No more. Its the Skyway for me and my wife and family. Family restaurant that first of all puts a carafe of coffee on your table when you arrive. Winner! Rarely done in Canada. Nice job. The staff are friendly but not eager, but that's ok, you expect good not great service in many diners. The bacon and eggs were perfect. Big think crispy bacon and just right scrambled eggs. Toast was smothered in butter and they had marmalade as an option on the plate. Who serves marmalade any more? Well, these guys. Why? Lots of seniors. As my departed aunty used to say, look for seniors and you'll find good food, lots of it and great prices. Place apparently is redone. Parking in front and in McDonalds parking lot next door. We will definitely stop in again.

There are two dishes I judge a dinner breakfast for, either a great Monte Cristo or a great Corned Beef Hash. Since a Monte Cristo was not on the menu I ordered the Hash and hands down it is the best I've ever had. No doubt about it being made Fresh and to order for me. The poached eggs were perfect and the coffee could not be beat, especially since they brought the carafe and plenty of cream and sugar. Forget Starbucks, diners have the best coffee. Bright atmosphere, kind and attentive staff, and oddly, at 55 I may have been one of the youngest patrons. Also of note, there was a group of "elderly" ladies eating at the table near me, and as they were preparing to leave one of them plopped herself on the opposite seat to me in my booth. She was waiting for her lunch club ladies to get ready to leave. I jokingly said that if she stayed much longer she would have to pay for my lunch. Pleasant conversation ensued and I discovered that she and the ladies have know each other for 48 years and they still meet once a month. Also that she is going to the doctor later today because she has an iron deficiency and as such are liver and onions for lunch. I told her I'd stick to Corned Beef Hash myself, thank you :)

Having been back here close to a dozen times over the last decade, I can firmly say this place is the perfect combination of gastro-ingenuity and traditional staples done right. The vibe is "industrial chic," which is essentially code for "I'm feeling something fancy, but still want to be able to visit in my Kirkland shorts." The food has a heavy focus on local ingredients, with flavors that are incredibly tight and well-balanced. The steak frites are so tender I'm pretty sure they were cut with a polite suggestion rather than a knife. The scallops are meaty and perfectly cooked. And of course the burger is absolutely mouthwatering and make it the tempting default option during each visit. The appetizers are all fantastic, Kat and the Korean cauliflower takes the cake! For desert, their house cheesecake is phenomenal, and their in house amber ale is full and flavourful. Our server was on the ball; the water was never empty, and the check ins were always at the right time. Verdict: 10/10. If you want western food with a fun twist and high quality ingredients, this is one spot you must check out!

The service was great, our server gave us a free latte because their coffee machine took forever to work. I got a hazelnut old fashion and it tasted amazing. I would recommend this place!

We arrived on a Friday morning about 9:30 and the restaurant got considerably more busy shortly after. We sat to order our breakfast along with some of the pastries for dessert. The smoked salmon Benedict was perfectly cooked and spectacular! Those frites that accompanied them were equally delicious. My friend ordered the croissant sandwich with salmon, cream cheese, and cranberries. For dessert we had the coconut cream tart which reminded me of a coconut cream pie elevated to a decadent tart. We also had an almond croissant that was so crispy and delicious that I had to order another one to go. My cappuccino was perfectly prepared. The food here is amazing and the service is equally exceptional. Our server checked on us often and was a delight! I can't say enough about this place that would do it justice. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Toronto.

We ordered the Simon Says with a side of Breakfast Poutine, Chicken & Waffle, Double Americano and Caramel Cappuccino. (a) Simon Says - Bacon, ham and sausage mix omelette with 3 cheese blend, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and fine herb mayonnaise. It was served on a soft brioche bun. The fine herb mayonnaise created a creamy balance with the 3 cheese blend which complemented the bacon, ham and sausage mix omelette very well. The breakfast poutine is a must try. (b) Chicken & Waffle - Crispy Chicken Breast with BBQ sauce served with waffles and pur & simple potatoes. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well. The waffles were buttery and soft. Their pur & simple potatoes had a crispy crust which was great. I was quite disappointed with the portion as there was only one piece of chicken breast in this dish. The chicken was definitely not enough as I only got to eat with barely 1/2 of the serving of the waffles. It was 80% carbohydrates and 20% protein. Overall, the dishes were delicious. I'd love to come back and try their other breakfast dishes.

The oysters were to die for. The scallop crudo was a hit & the tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection. My favourite was the mushrooms & parmesan fries. They even asked the sous chef to make sure the presentation was excellent; he didn't disappoint. Their menu changes seasonally. I ordered the following: 1. Coke ($). 2. Tempura Shrimp ($27). 3. Crispy Duck Leg Confit & Breast ($46). 4. Saskatoon Berry Cheesecake ($14). The Tempura Shrimp were tiger shrimp and were so plump, each about 1 inch diameter at the widest end! They were de-shelled and tempura battered. There were orange slices (orange), avocado slices (green), and chili slices (red), making the dish colourful. The Crispy Duck came with a leg and sliced breast portions. Accompanying them were tamarillo, sunchoke puree, bordelaise, dried kale chips, berry gastrique, and chopped candied pecans. All the ingredients worked well together, with mixtures of savoury and sweet tastes. The Cheesecake was amazing. The cheesecake itself was an upside-down half sphere. It was soft; I prefer that over the typical firm cake. There were miniature dried berries on top, along with a ruby chocolate sauce, and a sliced of dried red beet. Surrounding it was a soft marshmallow meringue which was lightly torched. The colour theme was red and white with a touch of dark blue. Daimon, the sous chef, plated everything expertly for me. There is plenty of indoor seating, of which one side has a view of the lake. There is lively music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms. There is free street parking on weekends on a street running north of the restaurant. There is also a paid parking lot next to the restaurant.
