Best breakfast place in the area. There is a reason why they've been on the Food Network and had tons of press. I love their creative menu. Everything is incredibly fresh and flavorfully seasoned. The tasso, beef empanada, and crab cakes benedict are my faves. My husband loves the pulled duck. You may have to wait a bit for a table because this is a popular spot. The outdoor seating is great in the summer. Inside, it is cozy and homey. Service is friendly and quick. Finally, The Corner is BYOB so bringing your own mimosa mix is a great option. read more

Dishes I have tried: Trio ( Strawberry & Banana Stuffed French Toast, apple cinnamon raisin french toast & a slice of moist vanilla cake topped with strawberries) -- Very delicious! As Good As Breakfast Gets! I'm not a big fan of breakfast. Typical breakfast fare is usually pretty boring. This place is the exception. Their breakfast specials are both creative and delicious. This isn't your typical bacon and eggs greasy spoon. Menu items were wonderfully diverse with all kinds of twists and surprises. Their dishes make other breakfast spots looks boring. Many reviews warn about a wait to get in, granted we went there on a Saturday instead of Sunday, but we booked a table (which they only do for parties of five or more) but there were clearly smaller tables available when we got there. Our waitress Sue was great, very informative and more than happy to discuss menu items with us. When two of us were torn between the duck and South African hash she arranged for one of each to be split in two plates. We will be going back and recommend it to everyone. Love this quaint brunch restaurant!! Beautiful and cozy setting, wonderful gourmet menu with some traditional favorites too. We have been here many times over the years and we will continue to visit for brunch. Super delicious. One of my favorites is the apple cream cheese stuffed French toast. Two weeks ago we were lost in Milford, CT when we came upon this restaurant. Without seeing the reviews we decided to head inside, and upon first entering we believed that we had made the wrong choice since the staff there seemed uninviting. However, we chose to wait about 10 mores minutes just standing there waiting for the host. When one finally arrived they explained that they were a bit busy, so I just brushed it off. From this point on the service was great, and the food was some of the best I've ever had (Cuban Tacos). Enjoy. read more

First-time visit. The food was excellent. The service was very sub-par. The restaurant was nearly empty but when the waitress saw I was alone she first offered me the counter. When I declined, she said to take a "small table" & then directed me to the very smallest (picture large pizza) of the 8-9 available. When I asked for a menu she indicated I should use the scan code under the laminated table card. Because of glare it wouldn't work so I walked up to counter & saw a pile of paper menus. I asked if. I could use one & she was pretty dismissive. Not at all welcoming. But then she was pretty busy on her phone most of the time. I liked the place & could see there were regulars who were treated attentively. But, another example, a woman walked in & said a friend would be joining her & the same waitress said they don't seat people till whole party is there!! The place was 3/4 EMPTY. My favorite brunch spot in CT. I have especially fond memories of this place at Christmas, because of the cozy feel of the decorations. Everyone is always over the top friendly. Since COVID hit we have been trying to support them through take out and I have been impressed with how great they have tried to maintain the freshness in a takeout form. Wow! Found this place last minute later to find out it's famous. A few celebrities have been spotted here, they catered to the white house, and their foods have been featured on The Cooking Channel and People Magazine. They were also voted best breakfast in CT. Our waitress was super friendly and had great suggestions for food. I got the Malaysian Spiced Pulled Pork and my coworker ordered the South Indian Spiced Pulled Duck. Both dishes were great but I think the duck my coworker got was the best. I absolutely cannot complain tho. They were both great dishes. As far as drinks went, I ordered their chai latte and coworker ordered the matcha latte. Both were wonderful! I am going to be back and I'm super excited my hotel is only about three miles away because they have an amazingly delicious and unique brunch with great staff! read more

Went here for Father's Day on 6-19-2022 for my very first time and despite the extremely busy morning there, we still were seated within 20 minutes without a heads up reservation! The line outside was 20 patrons deep leading up to myself and family and in no way would that deter me. Myself, wife and two kids had the very best breakfast in our entire lives! Service was attentive and smooth, our meals were top notch! All four of us ordered different items from the menu but I knew going in I had to try the "Duck" breakfast with eggs and bacon which they are known famously for as it also had been reviewed and presented live on a past episode on The Food Network. On my way out the owner Michelle had said to me I looked familiar to her and we struck a brief detail conversation of where we were from in similarity and what high school we went to and turns out we both went to Kaynor Tech and 1 grade apart then it dawned on me that she was familiar to me going back to 1991. This place was awesome! I will be going back many more times in the near future until I try everything on their menu! Well worth the drive from Waterbury to Milford. I recommend this spot to anyone! In brief they have specialty unique meals not typical to any standard breakfast and lunch spot but also have all of the typical standard fare items. Ordered online for pickup, got the Malaysian pork and the flakey french flatbread. We picked it up and waited for it to be packaged, and I'm not sure I love the packaging. Steam in the 3 minute drive home really softened the flatbread, but more than that, I feel like the food got cold quite quickly, and that the flatbread was really just OK. Loved the Malaysian pork! Delicious and the perfect amount of spice (I did mindlessly eat a ginger matchstick and momentarily wonder where the spice level came from). Where to start here... Just as the sun rises, you can be assured you will be treated with excellent service anytime you set foot in this establishment. I've had many great meals here, a go-to spot for me to show off to any friend/family visiting CT and it somehow always surpasses lofty expectations. Just the other day I called up looking to just grab a quick to-go coffee as I was walking by. Not realizing that they had just closed and were packing things up, CR made sure to make time for my tiny order and tossed in a donut at no charge. My boyfriend's family and I came here after Church today for brunch. Unfortunately it wasn't till after we waited to be seated and got out menu that we knew lunch is not served on Sundays and only breakfast food is available which was not ideal since we already ate breakfast early this morning . My boyfriend raved about the French toast although he said it was a little heavy. My quesadilla was yummy, it had spinach, portobello mushrooms, cheese and scrambled eggs. The tortilla had no color on it and seemed as if the ingredients inside were cooked separately and then put into the tortilla. The home fries a were cooked well done and had flavor. We also indulged in the French toast coffee, it was a little strong but tasty. Be aware they do not take credit card so be prepared with enough cash. The Corner Restaurant is the go-to breakfast spot in downtown Milford and it is quite apparent because people will line up out the door to wait for tables. I'm not sure if they take reservations, it seems everything is on a first come first serve basis. They have a sign in the front that cracks me up because it says that if you are rude or mean they will charge you $10 for having to put up with you. Wish I could've had a sign like this at my old job. I believe the Corner is unique because of its vintage decor and ever changing dishes. They are very good about changing their specials. I've dined there three times and every time I have gone I have been able to enjoy something different that wasn't on the menu on a previous visit. The food has always been delicious. Last time I went I had the poached eggs with corn-beef hash made with sweet potatoes. It was very delicious and different. It really is interesting to see their creative menus. I really also enjoy the freshly squeezed orange juice, highly recommend ordering it instead of the regular orange juice. Overall a great find for a nice family brunch but be ready to wait because the restaurant isn't very big and it is quite popular. They work really hard in there, I've seen how it is an "all hands on deck" environment.
