Just a simple smoked turkey sandwich but a darn good one!
    Tom C.

Small place with tables/umbrellas outdoors and a compact menu of sandwiches, some fairly basic, some more inventive and all made with Boar's Head meats/cheeses. I tried smoked turkey with lettuce, tomato, bacon and mayo on sourdough instead of the multigrain. It fell into the fairly basic camp but it was basically delicious! Toasty bread, plenty of shaved turkey, right amount of bacon and fresh veg. My sis had the special of the day which was their version of a classic Italian hoagie. It was served on a sub roll and she liked it a lot. It was quick to order and pay, we parked ourselves under an umbrella on the deck and in about 7 minutes had our two delicious sandwiches brought out in a bag. How delicious? I went back the next day (Saturday) only to discover the hours had changed and they were closed. And yes, I did my Yelply duty and updated the business hours on the app :)

Smoked turkey and greek pasta salad.

The Corner Kitchen is a cozy little spot with easy parking along a very busy intersection near the Dahlonega Square. Their daily special is displayed inconspicuously in the back of their store & they also have a kid's menu for the little tykes. I ordered up a smoked turkey plate with a side of their greek pasta salad and was overall super impressed with the taste!! Their combination of turkey, apples, brie and their turmeric honey surprisingly worked out so great together on their fresh baguette. I would've ordered it twice if I didn't have to travel so far home! The restaurant was voted Best Sandwich Shop of 2019 by their local "Dahlonega Nugget" so that should tell you a lot about the tiny shop! Unfortunately, the place was out of soup on the day of my visit. That would've been a better side on this colder day. Not a problem cause other delicious sides were readily available in their place. This is definitely going to be a re-visit if I'm ever back in the area; I would highly recommend you stop by for a bite to eat!

Excellent experience for the wife and I. She got turkey sandwich with Greek pasta salad and a brownie (handmade from the fudge factory) I got roast beef sandwich with the pasta salad also, and a truffle. The sandwiches were truly excellent. Bread, portion size and condiment, just absolutely perfect! Toasted perfectly! We were both extremely pleased and as of now are regulars! Bee and Wes. Bees service and explanation to newbies as we were was excellent, knowledgeable and practiced but patient explanation. Wes. Killer sandwiches (he was in the kitchen and pretty quiet) and good choice of music back there!!! We will be back again very soon.

    Muffuletta sandwich, pasta salad.

The bread was so soft and flavorful. It was such a hearty sandwich. I love a good flight option and this one did not disappoint. I got to try all of their specialty lattes with oatmilk. We came for their Easter brunch and had a delightful time! Our server, Joshua, was wonderful and all the staff seemed to be enjoying their day as well. The chef was closely monitoring every station to be sure each dish was replenished quickly, and the omelette and carving stations were staffed by very cheerful employees, which made the day all the more festive because of it! And the food . . . So good! None of the usual tasteless buffet food found in many other restaurants, this was truly delicious . We began with a field green salad with croutons and a nice charcuterie board with yummy prosciutto, black olives, cornichon, goat cheese, and fresh buffalo mozzarella. Steamed shrimp with tasty cocktail sauce and incredibly delicious smoked salmon, complete with tangy capers. There were two soup choices and we had the corn and crab bisque. . . delicious as well! Lunch offerings included mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and fresh steamed green beans and carrots. Next were the protein choices, which included lemon salmon, a gorgeous prime rib with horseradish sauce, and baked ham. To round out breakfast, there was an omelette station ( delicious) and eggs Benedict. Finally, a groaning dessert table with carrot cake, delightfully tangy key lime pie, coconut cake, chocolate torte, and red velvet cake. This was one of the nicest holiday buffets we've ever attended. It was busy but not crowded (so nice they took reservations) like so many Atlanta restaurants tend to be. The view is unmatched and the service and general atmosphere are top notch. We plan to be back for Mother's Day!

Everything about the restaurant was so special, amazing location for a sunset dinner, perched high above the Blue Ridge Mountains - amazing views. The best thing is if you stay at the Skyline Lodge, it's just steps away from your room and that comes in super handy when it's brunch time! We were fortunate enough to enjoy these two meals; dinner & brunch with our kids (who are foodies too) and they are now huge fans of Oak Steakhouse. They said it was the best steak they ever had, you can't go wrong with the Filet! The menu is not huge but really has all of the dishes you would want for an amazing dinner. Plenty of options, even if you don't eat steak. Amazing sides to accompany each dish and you must start with the bread, which is made in-house. I went with a dish I have not tried before and it did not disappoint, Venison Wellington while my wife tried the trout. I will let the photos do the talking. They also pour an amazing espresso martini by the way and to finish you have to try the chocolate cake, trust me! We also want to give a shot out to all of the staff and servers; their attention to detail and overall service was outstanding! Seems to be the case at all Indigo Road establishments, they really know hospitality. We cannot recommend Oak Steakhouse enough, even if you're not staying there but in the Highlands of NC make sure you give them a visit.

The portions are generous so to-go bags are a common sight. Oak is not inexpensive, but clearly the value is there if you are looking for a proper steakhouse experience near Highlands.
