Stop by White Birch Provisions for a coffee break while heading to North Carolina and did not regret it! They have their own parking lot which made it easy to get in and out of. I ordered an iced Carmel latte which was made with the perfect amount of milk. While ordered they had pastries on the counter that I couldn't resist so I ordered a coffee cake! I was offered the choice of gluten free or regular and I choose regular but the cashier mentioned they offer a variety of their pastries gluten free as well. They bake everything in hours so it's always fresh! After ordering to go we ended up sitting for a bit because the views were just right after a long drive. Stopped here as I was vacationing in the North Georgia mountains. It is a must with wonderful coffees and delicious bakery items that were huge! I got the Magic bar first. When I made them years ago they were called the 7 layer cookie. It was just as good as it was back then! The third day on vacation I got the red velvet brownie, also wonderful! Do you know what I like about this place? You fly into Atlanta, drive two hours up to Clayton, have lunch, then stop here for Lavender Latte and dessert AND...... you pick up dinner to go. They have homemade food in the fridge, pot pies, Lasagna, tomato pie ( my favorite) and more! They also have wines, cheeses and cigars. If they don't have the food in the front fridge , ask them, sometimes they have it in the back. In the front , they have a variety of scones and cookies and others pies, like spinach with bacon. If White Birch Provisions was located in my City, I'd absolutely be a frequent customer. I was a regular during my short stay in Clayton and my final visit left me craving for a handcrafted latte with the perfect amount of gingerbread syrup. This shop is adorable and the best way I can describe the vibe is friendly coffeehouse pairs with boutique country store. The fresh baked goods are displayed in glass cake stands and every dessert looks tastier than the next. During my time here, I tried the bacon cheese pimento scone and a slice of zucchini walnut bread. The bread was good, but the scone was out of this world! Due to the fact I'm a creature of habit, I ordered the same beverage daily: a coconut milk latte with 1/2 the amount of gingerbread syrup. The upstairs loft is peaceful and relaxing and allows for a perfect remote office. The large community board is a fantastic way for folks to stay engaged and promote their ventures. There is a table downstairs along with a few seats and gift options are plentiful. I highly recommend visiting White Birch Provisions. I will unreturn next time I'm in town. My wife and I visited White Birch Provisions a couple of times during a recent trip to Clayton to order coffee and pastries to go. We were appreciative of the steps they took to keep their customers and staff safe amid the Covid-19 pandemic including having staff wear face masks and having all the pastries covered in the display area. Over the course of two trips we ordered the following: Blueberry Cheesecake Bar, Cheddar Parmesan Scone, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bar, Fudgy Oatmeal Bar, Triple Berry Muffin, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, and Cookies. My favorites were the blueberry and pumpkin bars which were soft, sweet and moist. The scone was soft, savory, and crisp on the outside with flavorful baked cheese. The Fudgy Oatmeal was brownie-like and richly sweet. The muffin was fluffy with nice crystalized sugar on top. The banana bread was flavorful, soft, and filled with chocolate chunks. The cookies were crunchy, sweet, and flavorful. We also tried a few of their coffee selections with were creative and delicious. read more

They have the most milk options I've seen at any coffee place, even offering cashew milk which is my personal favorite. For those in your life who are gluten intolerant or gluten sensitive, they offer different fresh baked goods to suit your liking. Their coffee is exactly what you'd expect from any other, good strong lattes with a pleasant flavor.
