Stopped by this creamery after we were in the mood for ice cream. Such a fun and cute place where you can see all the cows in the pasture too! It was a beautiful view with the Georgia mountains in the background. They have an outdoor ice cream stand as well as an indoor shop. We went inside the shop and it was small but cozy. The service was wonderful and the nice lady in front gave us some free samples of their milk. The milk was unlike any milk I've ever tasted! Holy cow (literally!) was it fresh, creamy, milky, and not too heavy. The best way I could describe it, is the purest milk straight out of the cow, while sitting in the meadow. It literally took me back to the commercials with the milkman and their milk bottles. It was the best milk I've tasted in my life and I'm not even kidding. We also tried the chocolate milk and it tasted like cold hot cocoa. It was rich, not overly sweet, and you can taste the essence of both the chocolate and the milk. We decided to buy one gallon of the chocolate milk (We're kicking overselves for not buying the regular milk), and also a cute milk scented candle in a milk jar bottle. Their candles all smell really good! The shop also sells merchandise, frozen mac and cheese, fresh cheeses, meats, etc. We walked outside to the ice cream stand and there was a little wait since the line was long. And we can see why! I had the butter pecan ice cream and my husband had the vanilla shake. The ice cream was full of flavor, creamy, and I could taste each and every one of the pecans. It wasn't overly sweet as well. My husband had the vanilla shake and finished it in 5 minutes. He loves anything milk flavored and the vanilla shake hit all the right notes! It tasted more milk forward than vanilla and the milk was the star flavor (as it should be!) We left super happy and vowed to come back to get some of their fresh regular milk and try other flavors of their ice cream and shakes. Prices were reasonable and worth every penny. You have to at least stop by this place once or even three or four times!
Do you want fresh ice cream? This is the place. This is a must stop for anyone coming home from their Helen or mountain trip in general. They have the best ice cream in town(s) it is so fresh. My favorite is still he vanilla. How can vanilla be so good? The answer is because it is fresh! The special peach flavor is also really good. I mean, you cannot go wrong with any of the flavor, so just pick your favorite. But do get the waffle cones, it tastes better. They also sell by the pint to go.
This is my favorite ice cream in Georgia. 1. you can take a tour if you book ahead and see the cows and learn about the process too. 2. there is a little shop inside where you can buy some products be it cheese or milk. I've never bought anything but fun to go in and look. 3. the real reason to come : the ice cream. There's an outdoor window to buy ice cream. There's only about 5 flavors in a given day but it's so creamy and rich. 4. it's a beautiful view to eat your ice cream. There's some picnic tables outside and you're looking at an amazing expanse of grass and mountains. 5. They do pup cups for the dogs too. 6. parking is a big gravel lot.
A little out of the way, but great fresh dairy items as well as other specialty foods and items in the country store, such as pickles, jams & honeys. Be sure to visit the ice cream walk-up in the silo out front. Can't go wrong with chocolate in a waffle cone, but half a dozen or so other flavors too. Or try a milk shake.
Holy COW what a gem - saw this place on our drive home from Helen and immediately turned around. Yummy ice cream that is so well priced and the cow is fun to pose in front of. Really nice pasture view and plenty of picnic tables to sit down, eat some fresh ice cream, and enjoy. You HAVE to stop here on your travels to/from Helen to Atlanta. I only got a kids scoop (you can split it between two flavors) and it was plenty. Portion sizing is amazing. There is a 4% upcharge if you pay with a card as opposed to cash!
Cute and very popular creamery in Clermont, Ga. We got there at 5:50pm on a Saturday and there was still a line from the order window to almost the hwy entrance. They have all kinds of flavors: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cotton candy, birthday cake, and butter pecan. They have kids sizes up to 3 scoop waffle cone. They even do milkshakes. We couldn't go inside 05/02/2020, but they sell milk, butter, and ice cream inside as well. I had the birthday cake and it was divine - full butter fat ice cream with huge flavor. I tried the strawberry and cotton candy and it was delicious too. The cotton candy was the bluest blue and tasted just like candy - great for kids. The scenery and building area is very kept up and the fields around the store and ice cream window are so green and vast. They have 5-6 picnic tables with umbrellas and a huge cow for picture ops! If you are going to the north ga mountains, this is a must stop.
WOW, the ice cream here is AHHHHMAZZINGGG!! On our drive back from Tallulah Gorge, we stopped by Mountain Fresh Creamery. My aunt raved about this place so I had to see what all the hype was about. It's located on a small road and there's a giant cow statue in front of the farm. There's plenty of parking on the left side of the shop. For quick ice cream/milkshake service, just walk up to the silo (the tall white round thing on the right side of the shop). Adjacent to the silo is several picnic tables you can hang out while taking in the fresh ice cream. New Silo Hours (as of 3/30/19): Friday 2 PM - 6 PM Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM Sunday 1 PM - 6 PM Although the silo may be closed, you can still purchase ice cream in the store. I tried the strawberry cheesecake waffle cone and it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. It was creamy and light. The one scoop waffle cone was plenty for me. I honestly wish they had samplers so I could try all their different flavors. This place is definitely a must-go if you're in North Georgia.
Best once cream I've had! Needed to write a review because it was so delicious. Got the French Toast which was a weekly special item. It tastes just like French toast but not overtly sweet. The other ice cream scoop you can't see is Salted Caramel with Pralines. It was also incredible to the taste buds. You order at the silo and they have picnic benches with umbrellas for shade. You can go inside the red barn house to purchase pints or quarts of the different ice cream flavors. They also sell milk, cheese and other goodies. It is a MUST go to ice cream. Excellent choice to eat after a hike. There are many hiking trails nearby this area. I plan to go back again to try a different ice cream flavor on the waffle cone and bring a small cooler so I can take some ice cream and cheese home with me.

If you are driving along Cleveland Highway in Clermont, pull into the parking lot with the giant cow! Mountain Fresh Creamery is a spot that needs to be added to your detour list if it isn't already. They offer an assortment of fresh milk, butter, cheeses, and other goodies inside of their store. Make sure to sample the pimento cheese and the chocolate milk. If you are planning a trip - take a cooler! While inside, you may see them processing milk at the viewing window. It is a pretty cool experience. The staff is very nice and helpful. Be sure to grab a scoop of their fresh ice cream or a milk shake. Enjoy it on one of the picnic tables they have available and take a selfie with the cow out front! read more

I have an addiction and it is to ice cream. I love ice cream and I would eat it for breakfast which I hear makes you smarter according to Market research. We were driving by and out of the corner of my eye I saw a sign that says hand dipped cones. We pulled off into a parking lot and I checked the yelp reviews and it had glowing reviews so we turned around and I am glad I did. I ordered a single soup of salted Carmel praline pecan and it tasted delicious. Loved the pecans in it. I also sampled the honey ice cream and it was also delicious. I wished I would have gotten a scope of the honey also. Next trip I will get the honey ice cream. I will also check out the market inside. I love buying local products. read more

Mountain Fresh Creamery is a family farm which serves up dairy products like milk, butter and premium ice-cream. All of their products are hormone and antibiotic free. They also have farm tours for the kiddies. The cute location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but close to Cleveland, GA. if you're in the area. There is a small, outdoor seating area to watch the cars zoom by amidst a picturesque backdrop of blue sky, green grass and gravel. There is only outdoor seating. There's a small store in a red barn which sells non-homoginized milk. Unlike the watery milk you buy in the store, the cream rises to the top. I prefer raw milk but since it's illegal, maybe their 'low-temp pasteurization' process is the next best thing. I didn't try the milk but there was a steady stream of happy shoppers walking out with gallons. One such customer was the coroner which was a bit odd. He was just 'dying' to get in. (Couldn't resist, lol. Back to the review!) They also sell cheese and hand-rolled sausage and beef from a farm in Tennessee. The ice-cream is located in the 'silo' which is a walk-up area. There are 25 unique flavors. I got a waffle bowl with two scoops of caramel salted vanilla for $4. The scooper was amazingly precise. She literally gave me two scoops and not an eighth of a centimeter over that. It was thick, creamy and delicious but a tad bit too sweet for my palate. That Sangria I'd washed down thirty minutes prior probably didn't help. I tried a shake on another visit and was underwhelmed. In short, it wasn't the best ice-cream I've ever had. That honor goes to the Costco Brand vanilla. But you can take that with a grain of salt because I have travelled through several states to get to the right flavor (shoutout to Dietsch Brothers in Findlay, OH). But all things considered, they get five stars because it's a pretty tasty option and where else can you get two hand-dipped, antibiotic free scoops for $4? Nowhere. I'll definitely come back to try one in a less decadent flavor, maybe vanilla. read more

Perfect ice cream, best place in Georgia! The strawberry Is to die for! The ice cream is full of flavor and the cone tastes really fresh and sweet. They have so many flavors to try from and they also have seasonal flavors like pumpkin. It's a little bit of a drive for me but definitely worth it. read more

If you live anywhere within an hour and a half of this place and need a good excuse to just get out, get away and take a drive, then make this your destination. Whether just you, or you have a family with small children, big children, or no children, this place is a worthy reason to burn some gasoline! They make their own ice cream fresh, right here on the property from their own dairy cows. AND they are open 7-days a week (excluding major holidays)... so any day is a good day to drive here! The best part for me is there ice cream and milk are non-homogenized from what one of the staff member tells me. What that means is someone like me who has lactose issues should be able to eat their ice cream or drink their milk with very little to no effect. So I bought two scoops of the chocolate ice cream to test that theory. To be honest I've been here several times and I don't remember if their ice cream had any effect on me or not. Normally, eating 2 scoops of ice cream would turn me into a toxic waste exhaust duct relatively quickly! Surprisingly two hours later when I made it back home, my vehicle was still as fresh as it was before I arrived at the creamery. If you plan to take the drive from Atlanta and want to make a day of it, there is plenty to do in the area! You can stop by the Cabbage Patch kids General Hospital, go climb Mount Yonah, visit Anna Ruby Falls, Dukes Creek Falls, or driving to Helena and stroll all the adorable shops. Be sure to stop by Hansel & Gretel's to get one of their caramel apples, chocolates or salt water taffy. Your sweet tooth will thank me later! 2019/43 read more

This is a nice place to get you some ice cream. It's got some cows, it's got you rolling fields, it's got a corrugated metal pretend barn with a pretend silo that is also the ice cream stand. It's got a nice little gift shop/store for you to bring gifts home to your mom. They even have tours of the farm to take the kiddos on. The ice cream is good, served in waffle cones or cups and they make shakes. Yet, I guess that's what keeps me from giving it 5 stars. It's nice enough, I mean the ice cream is good, just not "let's drive all the way to Clermont" amazing. What, no banana splits? It just kind left me feeling like it was nothing special. I like special. I mean I'm special, shouldn't I have special ice cream. Don't get me wrong. In a world otherwise filled with mediocre, this is a nice little place. I just wouldn't make a special trip. read more

I dropped my kid off at camp and looked for something local and fun to do with my other kid for an hour or so before heading home. Mountain Fresh Creamery totally fit the bill! This is fresh made amazing ice cream! You can see the cows it came from! Such a cute setting in a red barn building. We even stopped by again when I picked my kid up from camp a week later. We also bought a few additional pints of different flavors and some locally made candles from their gift shop. I love that they had a branded insulated cooler bag for me to put the ice cream in for the trip home. When I carry it around, inevitably someone asks what Mountain Fresh Creamery is and I'm happy to tell them about the cutest little ice cream stand in Georgia! read more

Super cute and a must stop for fresh dairy products! We sampled and sampled and every product was amazing! We got the most amazing pimento cheese, smoked Gouda, creamer, egg nog, and a little chocolate milk. Fairly priced and friendly staff. I am bummed it a little early for me to have some ice cream and being on a road trip it wasn't possible to take a pint with me. So on the next trip ice cream will be happening! Look for the big cow out front! read more
