We visited on the day after Thanksgiving and have mixed thoughts. The decor and ambiance is warm with creative artsy touches. Great people watching spot near the warm windows. However, we were not impressed with the selection or pricing. I get that this is a tourist area here in Helen, but the hot drinks seemed VERY overpriced and there were a lot of sweets but not many savory. Loved all of the honey stuff and I hope they do well and stick around. Maybe that will help with their pricing and selection.

Peach whipped honey and strawberry whipped honey jars of 11 ounces. $18 each.

Hoth Cafe Honey on a Hill is a second wave coffee shop, bubble tea cafe, and gift shop rolled into one space. The honey used in their products is sourced from their bees. We walked up a flight of stairs to reach the front door, so I do not think this shop has disability access. The gift shop has a fantastic selection of honeys, whipped honeys, honey lollipops, and bee-themed decor, and honey-based skincare products. There is a counter that you can request to sample the various selection of honey products. There are several tables that have a great view of the main streets of Helen to snack and chat at. The strawberry and peach whipped honey products ($18 for 11 oz) are made with organic freeze-dried fruit powders mixed with their honey. I found them to be delicious and easily spreadable on warm croissants. The honey pops ($2.85 each) have this strange flavor to me that was undesirable. Lastly, the peach slushy drink was sweet and refreshing. Interestingly, the online shop for Hoth Cafe Honey on a Hill has a reduced selection and higher prices on the same products. If it's convenient and seriously desirable, it would be a better choice to shop in their retail store.

Summary: If you love honey, beekeeping, handmade products, or visiting places where people make you…read morefeel like family the moment you walk in, Blue Ridge Honey Company needs to be on your list. We made the 90-minute drive two days in a row because one visit simply was not enough. Between the honey tastings, incredible staff, behind-the-scenes tour, body balms, bee pollen, beekeeping supplies, handmade candles, and warm hospitality, it truly felt like stepping into a honey wonderland. We came home with lots of goodies, huge smiles, and absolutely no regrets, except maybe not buying even more Sourwood honey. In Full: Wow! I had the time of my life touring Blue Ridge Honey Company, sampling amazing products, and meeting some truly wonderful people. I tasted Sourwood, purple, Tupelo, mountain wildflower, and several creamed honeys for the first time. The blueberry and blackberry creamed honeys were fantastic, and the habanero-infused honey was delicious. But the Sourwood honey stole the show. It was buttery smooth, slightly nutty, and hands down the best honey we have ever tasted. Sampling the different varieties was a blast, but be warned: once you start tasting, you will want to buy everything. Keneddi introduced me to their new Tallow Honey Balm, and she was right when she said a little goes a long way. It felt amazing, smelled wonderful, and worked so well that we literally turned the car around and went back to buy it. We also picked up the passionfruit Whipped Body Butter, which is equally impressive. Keneddi was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. One thing that stood out was the atmosphere. The entire place feels like family. I actually asked if everyone was related because of how close-knit and welcoming everyone seemed. The answer was no, but it certainly feels that way. Everyone spoke highly of owners Bob and Suzette Binnie, as well as their coworkers, which says a lot about the culture they've built. The store itself is bright, inviting, and packed with products. There was more honey than I have ever seen in one place. Even without a formal tour, visitors can view much of the operation through large observation windows, making the experience educational as well as fun. Marilyn went above and beyond by giving us an impromptu private tour. She patiently answered our endless questions, shared the company's history, and made us feel incredibly welcome. We truly appreciated her time and generosity. The first visit was so much fun that we drove 90 minutes back the very next day for more goodies, especially more Sourwood honey. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy, and the tasting experience alone is worth the trip. Tera helped us save money on pellets by pointing us toward a larger, more economical bag. Lisa was also incredibly kind and helpful. We sampled a wide variety of honeys and learned a great deal. I also fell in love with their bee pollen and brought home two jars. Next time, I may need the five-pound bag. The selection is impressive: honey, candles, body products, books, apparel, beekeeping supplies, and much more. They even sell candle-making molds, supplies, and instructional books. Marilyn handcrafts many of the candles, and they are beautiful. We also briefly met Bob, Syleena, and John while a truckload of honey was arriving in the rain. Everyone we encountered was friendly, hardworking, and genuinely happy. As a bonus, we picked up a Dadant smoker and can confidently say it lives up to the hype. It lights easier, stays lit longer, and outperformed our old smoker in every way. Thank you to everyone at Blue Ridge Honey Company for the incredible hospitality. You made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. To anyone considering a visit: go. It is absolutely worth the trip, and you will not be disappointed!

We were visiting Helen, GA and husband stopped by the gas station next door to get some gas. I saw…read morethis cute little cheese market and decided to step inside and explore. So happy that I did! When I walked in, the staff were super friendly and all smiles. The cashier/barista was such a sweetheart! They have a cheese market, deli, bakery bar, and coffee shop all in one! They sell all kinds of charcuterie items, from salami, cheese, jam, jellies, to coffee, candy, wine, and chocolates. They also sell cutting boards and other little trinkets. I absolutely loved that they sell "charcuterie for one" that has cheese, meats, and olives for a single serving on the go too! We saw that they had a lunch box special for sandwiches that includes a sandwich, cookie, pickle spear, and bag of chips for $12. What a steal!!! We decided to get the Jammin' Pig sandwich which is a panini pressed sandwich with ham, brie cheese, and cherry jalapeño jam. The lunch box was a great size and included Lay's regular potato chips and a chocolate chip cookie! They also sell other cookies and baked goodies (brownies, cakes, etc.) at the bakery bar area. The sandwich was probably the best sandwich I ever had in my life. Holy cow! The sandwich was pressed and grilled perfectly with nice grill marks and the meat and cheese was fresh! The brie and the cherry jalapeño jam melted together so nicely and added a creamy and flavorful element to the sandwich. The ham provided the saltiness that helped cut a little bit of the sweetness from the jam. The jam wasn't spicy at all. It was a beautifully balanced sandwich. My husband thought I was exaggerating (because I'm not picky with anything haha), but as soon as he took a bite, his expression was speechless. He loved the sandwich so much, that we decided to come back the very next day and ordered the same sandwich and tried another one. If you want to take another step, take a bite of the sandwich and then a bite of the pickle for that hint of acidity. It causes a umami effect with all the flavors dancing on your palette! For the lunch box special, you either get a chocolate chip cookie or the white chocolate cranberry one (I believe they alternate cookie flavors based on their inventory), but both cookies were delicious. The texture is not like other cookies as it's more like an oatmeal texture kind of deal. A little bit crumbly, but nonetheless, both flavors were very good and tasty. My husband ordered the Kickin' Horse sandwich the day after and he actually liked it better than the Jammin' Pig. His sandwich consisted of ciabatta bread, roast beef, muenster cheese, horseradish sauce, and onion, panini pressed style. I had a bite of his sandwich and all the flavors worked so well. The horseradish sauce brings out the roast beef flavor and enhances the muenster cheese. We tried some iced latte specials as well. We had the "Hippie Chick" that is a lavender honey flavored latte and the "Sweater Weather" which is a cinnamon and caramel? flavored latte. We absolutely loved the Hippie Chick latte and ordered another one when we came back, but the "Sweater Weather" wasn't our favorite. Respectfully, it tasted like a fall candle. It was good, but not the best we've had. Overall, we will definitely come back when we're in the area. The price was worth it for the amount of food that you get! Trust me when I say to get the sandwiches! You will not be disappointed!!! Now I'm craving their Jammin' Pig sandwich....

They have specialty ones or you can build your own. I recommend getting yours made warm. You can also build your own charcuterie board. Everyone that worked in there was super nice.
