A must do! Stop by, enjoy conversations about this historical landmark and hear a little tune on the Nickelodeon.:) they sell hats, trinkets and novelties. They have some tastings and sell cheese! There is a stage outside and they have performances from time to time.

Love love love this cute cafe! Have been here twice. The general store is so much fun. The people are so friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches are so tasty! I love the chicken salad and the broccoli cheddar soup is yummy! If you are looking for a reasonably priced meal and are in the area, definitely make a stop!!

We found a true gem! A local told us to check this place out and I am so grateful we took her advice. We almost missed it and let me tell you, this is a MUST SEE!!! It is the oldest store in GA! Built in the 1800's with its original storefront (signs and all). Walk inside and continue your step back in time with antique cash register, pharmacy bar, crank telephone, etc. The ambiance is sure to delight your spirit. They also have nostalgic penny candy that brought me back to my childhood. If Bill is there, he's likely telling old stories, entertaining shoppers as he pours them tastes of various ciders. My two favorite were the Muscadine and the black cherry. YUM!!! My mom loved the peach. Back in the day, the original owners sold the place to a couple from Norway so the middle of the store has an entire section of Scandinavian delicacies. The entire staff was as delightful as the rest of the store. If Linda is there, say hello and tell her how beautiful she is! She made our day. To sum it up, I will forever hold a special place in my heart from my visit to this treasure. Hope you check it out!

Historical building. Tidy inside. We went out of our way to grab something to eat here. It's grab and go quick with pre-made sandwiches, chips, and sodas/water. Their chicken salad is from scratch. There are a few bench seats inside to sit and eat. Next door is an old country store packed to the gills with gift shop type stuff. Friendly staff.

Lovely shop with many different aspects to it. You walk in to an ancient store front that has not been change since it was put in. You are met by a man who will explain everything about this store to you and it's history. Had some of the Farmers Cheese they sell and it was very good. There is a small deli attached to them and has some quick sandwiches to go along with a very tasty Black Cherry Soda. I had the chicken Salad on Croissant and it was very tasty. Wonderful atmosphere in the store. Great set up wonderful items to choose from. Even items for dogs that are specifically made for them.

Great simple breakfast!!! Biscuits with jelly for the kids and eggs, bacon, sausage, hash-browns for mom and dad. In the back of a cool local grocery story with everything you need!

This is a must see general store. When you first walk in, the front of the store is set up more like a museum, with display cases full of interesting items sold years ago. The back area of the store has the items you can actually buy: all types of candy, soaps, souvenirs, honey, jams, etc. On the day that I went, they had samples of cheese and some type of Nordic drink. Both were delicious.

What a hidden little gem. We went here for breakfast that turned into lunch as we stopped at 2 places before - Dottie's (which Yelp app said was open but they are closed on Tuesdays) and Hofer's which had a long line that did not move in the 5+ minutes we waited so we left. Glad that all happened as we would not have found The Old Sautee Store. We ordered soup and sandwiches. The soup was a chicken and wild rice with a hint of lemon. So very good! I got the ham and cheese and my wife got the special - a turkey of some kind. They were both excellent. The cheese is something I have never heard of and is sold in the store. Very smooth. We plan to buy some on our way out of Helen at the end of our trip. Take your time in the store, very cool place with many unique items. We bought some Glogg - a grape type cider good for drinking or cooking. Highly recommend!

Stopped for a breakfast sandwich. Neat little place with very friendly folks, winsome you could say! Got the sausage egg and cheese on a croissant. They make the croissants here and they were so good. Light and fluffy. Really good coffee as well. Definitely worth the high marks.

What a sweet place to grab a sandwich! We luckily Found this spot while avoiding the traffic in Helen. The store is super cute (bought some goodies including Shampoochie (dog shampoo) cheese sample Delish. Friendly service. Back to this place (they are connected) very friendly we tried the daily special which was ham on rye (we split) pickle and chips. Perfect Spot with shade, clean bathroom (you would never think because it is a dark door on the side of the bldg. the shops around are fun and we loved stopping here. Perfect stop!

This location is not ADA compliant at all. The owner/lady that runs the register is also very ignorant and rude towards disabled people.

Pricing was very reasonable, and service was fabulous! Stepping into this delectable candy shop was amazing as the smell of chocolate just envelops you and a very large hug! Of course, we walked down the very large candy counter, picking out chocolates for later this evening, and they were very patient with us. They also had free samples of their fudge, and their brittles. They have a wonderful selection of sugar-free confections as well. The staff, was very knowledgeable on what was behind the counter, and answered quite a few questions. If you love, homemade chocolates, this store does not disappoint! Safe travels

The girl behind the counter was spectacular handled my cravings really well and I ended up getting Oreos for my daughter, and I had a selection of Petit fours and truffles, which were fantastic! I also got a couple of large pieces of peanut brittle and some pecan pralines all of which are some of the best I've had in a while. What a great place to get your sugar fix on, and the staff was super friendly, especially when they're about to close. Highly recommend!

So happy that I did! When I walked in, the staff were super friendly and all smiles. The cashier/barista was such a sweetheart! They have a cheese market, deli, bakery bar, and coffee shop all in one! They sell all kinds of charcuterie items, from salami, cheese, jam, jellies, to coffee, candy, wine, and chocolates. They also sell cutting boards and other little trinkets. I absolutely loved that they sell "charcuterie for one" that has cheese, meats, and olives for a single serving on the go too! We saw that they had a lunch box special for sandwiches that includes a sandwich, cookie, pickle spear, and bag of chips for $12. What a steal!!! We decided to get the Jammin' Pig sandwich which is a panini pressed sandwich with ham, brie cheese, and cherry jalapeño jam. The lunch box was a great size and included Lay's regular potato chips and a chocolate chip cookie! They also sell other cookies and baked goodies (brownies, cakes, etc.) at the bakery bar area. The sandwich was probably the best sandwich I ever had in my life. Holy cow! The sandwich was pressed and grilled perfectly with nice grill marks and the meat and cheese was fresh! The brie and the cherry jalapeño jam melted together so nicely and added a creamy and flavorful element to the sandwich. The ham provided the saltiness that helped cut a little bit of the sweetness from the jam. The jam wasn't spicy at all. It was a beautifully balanced sandwich. My husband thought I was exaggerating (because I'm not picky with anything haha), but as soon as he took a bite, his expression was speechless. He loved the sandwich so much, that we decided to come back the very next day and ordered the same sandwich and tried another one. If you want to take another step, take a bite of the sandwich and then a bite of the pickle for that hint of acidity. It causes a umami effect with all the flavors dancing on your palette! For the lunch box special, you either get a chocolate chip cookie or the white chocolate cranberry one (I believe they alternate cookie flavors based on their inventory), but both cookies were delicious. The texture is not like other cookies as it's more like an oatmeal texture kind of deal. A little bit crumbly, but nonetheless, both flavors were very good and tasty. My husband ordered the Kickin' Horse sandwich the day after and he actually liked it better than the Jammin' Pig. His sandwich consisted of ciabatta bread, roast beef, muenster cheese, horseradish sauce, and onion, panini pressed style. I had a bite of his sandwich and all the flavors worked so well. The horseradish sauce brings out the roast beef flavor and enhances the muenster cheese. We tried some iced latte specials as well. We had the "Hippie Chick" that is a lavender honey flavored latte and the "Sweater Weather" which is a cinnamon and caramel? flavored latte. We absolutely loved the Hippie Chick latte and ordered another one when we came back, but the "Sweater Weather" wasn't our favorite. Respectfully, it tasted like a fall candle. It was good, but not the best we've had. Overall, we will definitely come back when we're in the area. The price was worth it for the amount of food that you get! Trust me when I say to get the sandwiches! You will not be disappointed!!! Now I'm craving their Jammin' Pig sandwich....
