I love any place the has the words "General Store" in its name. Today's General Stores are mostly…read morefilled with reproductions of things from day's gone by and that's okay because they mimic living history and things not forgotten. I mean where else can you buy a yo-yo, a bicycle handle-bar bell, a game of jax or bins of penny candies that are no longer a penny. It looked like most of the customers here were window shopping with lots of "I remember those", "come see this" or "what the heck is that". This store is a great place to reminisce and it's definitely a touchy-feely store that everyone picks up everything to get a closer look so most items here are like a Petri dish, a little hand sanitizer might be something you'll want to pick up while you're here. The staff is really great and can point you in the right direction if there's a particular item you're looking for unless it's a block of salt , a sack of flour or a country ham in a cloth sack hanging from the ceiling, it's not that kind of general store the only mason jars I saw here were filled with cat-eye marbles. I enjoyed spending about 30 minutes here, it was entertaining and I did find a refrigerator magnet for the RV, I didn't see any "you break it, you buy it" signs so the margins are probably pretty good here...

Upon walking into the shop, it felt like home. We were immediately greeted by the owner of the…read moreshop, and both of the other employees offered assistance as well in a friendly, well-informed, no-pressure way. The selection of goods is unique, the price is very fair for the items they keep in stock. They have everything from crystals to smudge sticks to body products, a lovely selection of books, some tarot items, other eclectic and interesting curiosities and gift options... and a very cool array of non-alcoholic wines, canned beverages with mushrooms and CBD. They just opened a tea room upstairs which has lots of extra books and a couch that made me want to sit and buy a beverage and read for hours (I can't wait to see what it evolves into). My only regret is that I didn't have more money to spend; it's definitely a 'please just take my money, I want to give it to you' type of place. I highly encourage anyone who has the chance to stop in to do it - even if you just pop in to browse at first, you'll get a warm welcome and such a lovely experience that you'll definitely want to buy something (even the smallest purchase can help local businesses so much). What an amazing place. I look forward to going back as often as I can.

The store sells most typical gift shop flare: t shirts, stuff animals, mugs, postcards, books; things of that nature. Nothing in the store really struck my attention, but I did get a postcard and a Smokey the Bear magnet. Might as well, right? I love a gift shop, but this one doesn't really hold up in comparison to others. It's nice overall, but nothing too amazing that you'd feel bad about missing. Save your money to some other place, but hey, I'm not telling you how to spend your money.

Even though there was a bit of a time crunch, the folks at Willows made it work. They created the most beautiful bread plate for me, with the inscription I wanted stamped on the front and my name and date inscribed on the back. It is a lovely, one-of-a-kind piece, which made it to Texas safely and in a timely fashion. This place is a great resource if you want something hand-made in Georgia, a unique gift (especially, I would think, a wedding gift), or beautiful new serving pieces to use when you entertain. Their pottery looks like it came straight out of a Southern Living "Best Gifts Handmade in the South" feature, and I will definitely be calling them again the next time I need a charming, wow-factor present or a little something special for myself.
