This is a cute candy shop in a cute town. So many options the smell is fantastic as you walk in the door smelling of all the amazing options they had to choose from. We tried the divinity and a coconut/chocolate candy. They were both delicious. The staff behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. Caramel apples, jellies, truffles, Chattahoochee Snappers (turtles), licorice, lollipops, candied nuts, pralines, chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallows...sooo much to choose from! I was window shopping around the area and had to stop in when I saw chocolate candy apples. I ordered a caramel candy apple and a chocolate drizzle with peanut's caramel candy apple, and a dozen of assorted truffles. They also have fudge, chocolate covered cookies and nuts, and many other sweets. They had jelly candy apple but it was either plain or with peanuts. It would be great instead of peanuts to have shredded coconut. However, there's plenty of other sweet treats. A super adorable candy shop in Helen! It's got an enormous selection of chocolate, truffles, fudge, brittle, candy apples and more. If you're worried about blood sugar levels, they offer sugar free chocolate/candy as well. The line was super long when we were there, but moved along quickly as service was quick and friendly. This is one of my favorite treat spots in Helen. We stop in every single time. You really cannot go wrong with anything they make. Cases upon cases of different truffles and boxed candies. Tons of dipped apples. Candy shops are always a bit pricey, but this is totally worth the splurge. Go on, you know you want to - treat yo' self! My favorite is the red candy apple ($5). I would buy them 3 at a time if I were not so conscious of the price! So good! Pro tip: there are two locations. One in the middle of the madness and one at the very end. This place is near the popular German Town but before U get there. Had to try the chocolate & truffles, of course. There are two entrances/exits to their shoppe. I walked in the candy side and was scouring the displays for truffles... I seen milk , dark, and white chocolate gift sets made for First Responders, Baby Showers (pink & blue), Medical Professionals, and Mechanics (tool set). They had a variety of Jelly Beans, Gummy, and tons of other hard candies in their collection. But, I still searched ... truffles ... so I was coming to the end of the rd and seen a trail leading to a hallway. They had PiX on the walls and some framed literature and I smelled something sweet leading me to another rm that opened up to two displays of truffles and to the right of that was a fishbowl of where U can see them churn and prepare the goodies maybe in the morning when batches are made fresh. So, I tried some truffles w/ coffee, banana, and strawberry's. My damage for my box of treats totaled only $8.49 w/ taxes included. I'd be leading U astray if I don't recommend U not stop in on Ur way to Downtown, Helen- especially if U have a sweet tooth. read more

I've been waiting 8 years to come back to Helen. I've been craving the peanut brittle ever since. I finally got some, and it didn't disappoint. The truffles, caramel and chocolate dipped pears were also absolutely delicious. The smell upon entering is absolutely heavenly. They also have fudge and various other treats. From the first section of fudge, I would recommend the Jiff & Chip. At the back section of fudge, the Chocolate Cheesecake and Mint are fabulous. Great employees here! The candy was next level. My children discovered they love chocolate covered cherries thanks to these wonderful people. (As a mom, I'm just glad they're eating cherries!) In Helen, you'll really only find two types of fudge. The other shops sell great fudge. This place sells superb fudge. A very sweet place Hansel & Gretel Candy Kitchen is a candy store in the middle of the quaint and bizarre pseudo Bavarian village of Helen. Real cute building, like most of the stuff in Helen it's made to look like it's from a fairy tale. Or something. The inside of the store is loaded with fudge, chocolate stuff, nuts, peanut brittle, jelly candies and just about every other sweet, candy like thing you can thing of. The fudge and chocolate are really great and most of the other sweets vary according to a person's particular tastes. But there is no doubt that this is good quality and very tasty stuff indeed, with a pretty amazing variety of different and creative candy and chocolate thingies. A cute and tasty little store that could be a very dangerous place for someone with a sweet tooth or love of chocolate. It would be really easy to walk out of here with a small bag than contains more calories that most people consume in a month. read more

From the inside and outside, this looks like a pretty good candy shop. Shelves are full of candy goodness. It reminds me of the shop in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory where they sing the Candyman. Now only if they can be just as creepy. They have caramel appels, bunch of chocolate products, creams, pastries, and for you health-conscious folks, they have sugar-free candy too. Although, I don't see the point of sugar free candy. They look like regular candy. But if you feel like indulging yourself, I rather get real candy with real sugar. They have a small factory inside the store. Well, the factory looks more like a room. I don't know if they make all the candy inside the store. I doubt it. But it would be cool if they did. We stopped by the one that's a little out of the middle of town, right by the motel we were staying at. I apologize for not remembering the name or address. As we walked in, we were not even greeted, but I do say "hi, how are you" to the elderly lady behind the counter. She never ever spoke to us, offered us any samples, or anything. She did however watch us like hawks, to the point I felt very uncomfortable. I should have walked out, but I really did want to try the chocolate that I've heard rave reviews about. It was pretty good. It that particular customer service was horrible. Therefor based on customer service on how we were treated says more about the quality of chocolate.
