    Traditional presentation of Yerba mate
    Kyle T.

Excellent selection of teas and a great vibe! In this chaotic world, it was nice to have this chill environment to mellow out. First tea shop I've been to in a long time that offers the traditional presentation of Yerba mate, in the serving in a gourd, the large amount of tea leaves and pitcher of hot water. I'll be back for sure!

I had a great time at this little tea shop. I wish I had known they charged an auto gratuity of 10% to everything (including merchandise) as I tipped on top of that, but what can ya do. For the first round we got traditional street chai - I got mine with macadamia nut milk and "halfway sweet" with simple syrup. It was really good. I loved the ambience and sitting on the cushions on the floor. I saw people were complaining about it being crowded, but we were there for over an hour on a Sunday and had no problems. When we left, I got my mom some Lavender Limoncello tea bags. Pretty expensive at $16- I'll need to see if it was worth it once she tries it. I also got myself an iced "forest dragon" to go- matcha, jasmine green tea, fresh mint, cardamom, coconut milk, honey. It was really good! I would return next time I'm in Asheville- keeping in mind that 10% charge that Faith and David did not tell me about (though they were both friendly enough).

    Hummus was so good

The place was the coolest and chillest tea house I have ever been to. There were so many types of tea to choose from. I went with one of their Japanese green teas and the hummus plate. The guy that took my order was super informative. I asked like 10 questions trying to figure out which tea was best for me. The hummus plate was so fresh and good. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely come back. I highly recommend this place if you love tea, hummus, and good vibes.

Street chai tea with tea cakes!

Everything about this place is absolutely amazing. We were there at a very busy time, and the staff worked efficiently together to serve everyone. The street chai was fantastic, and the tea cakes were phenomenal. We will absolutely be back when we are in Asheville. There are so many delicious sounding cookies, cakes, and drinks on the menu. It was hard to decide what to order. Also, even though we have no dietary restrictions we loved the gluten free tea cakes. They are just as good as any gluten filled pastries we've had at upscale bakeries and cafes.

Nice selection of different teas in a cozy cafe setting. It was hard to choose which tea I wanted, but I chose the iced Yerba Mate. It was good, but not my favorite tea... Just personal taste; not made poorly. It was nice that it was not pre sweetened as I don't like super sweet beverages. Next time I am visiting, I would like to stop in again and try something different. Oh, there were also little fortunes at the counter to take for free which I thought was neat.

Went to Asheville for the weekend and went to Dobra four times - I'm obsessed and wish Raleigh had something similar. I love the ambiance of this place - the downtown area has great lighting that makes the area feel rather intimate. Soft spa like music plays in the background and there's plenty of seating from regular chairs in the cafe area to areas where you take off your shoes and sit on a cushion on the floor with a low table - that was our preference. The first time around, we had hummus with veggies and a few pita slices. The hummus is a local brand called Roots and the flavors vary day to day. The location in West Asheville also has a few more treats than the downtown location. The employees are extremely helpful and take the time to bring the tea to you, teach you about how to experience the tea and the various steeping methods for each one we had. You can also purchase any of the teas and I believe some of the teawares, too. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet, chill spot in AVL.

Dobra is exactly what I want when I envision a tea house. Its cozy, peaceful tea room and large selection will wow any tea lover. There are several tables by the window for natural light and as you move toward the back, the tea room darkens and you have a selection of low round tables with floor seating (very similar to Japanese Chabudai tables). In this section, the talking was at a hush and you remove your shoes. I had the chai and the brew was perfection. The chai was legitimate and not the boxed or liquid junk you can find in the store or other popular big name coffee shops. I added a bit of stevia and macadamia milk for a cuppa creamy, spiced goodness. Highly suggest if you need a recharge and unique tea experience while in Ashville.

Blue magic and forest dragon cold teas
    Neisha M.

What a cute little find! Stopped in here while walking downtown. It was not packed but had patrons tucked away in spaces enjoying the calm and quiet. We had two cold teas, the forest dragon and blue magic. I liked the blue magic more. You order at the counter and they bring it to your seating area. It was very different to other tea houses. I would definitely recommend stopping in here to take a breath and enjoy some quiet time.

This place is all about the tea! So many types, hot and cold. Inside was quiet with many rooms to have a intimate time. They even had a room to sit on the floor shoeless. The service was quick with attention to each drink. This is a good place to relax away from the heat and huddle of downtown.

I throughly enjoyed golden ticket. It has a very good balance of flavor. It is a pretty chill cafe with raised and platform group seating which allows for a unique experience. Service was pretty standard. Not bad by any means.

    Guan yin? tea with boba

I was really excited to find out that there was a Dobra in Asheville after having frequented one in Portland, Maine and loving it there. Dobra Tea has so many options, and is a really cute spot to hang out with friends and chat. Their staff is also really friendly and knowledgable about the teas and they helped me choose a few loose leaf teas to take home. If I could, I would go all the time. I wish there was a Dobra near meeee!!!

Oolong tea with lemon, and some other flavors+ boba
    Ngan N.

I was excited to go to Dobra Tea hoping to enjoy some delicious tea in an interesting and relaxing environment. Hate to say it but I was a little bit disappointed. Customer service was very good. The cashier was friendly and helpful. She gave me some suggestions when I asked her. No complaints about service. The place does have an interesting design that makes you feel like you're sort of not in US (like in Asia). I wanted to sit in the back but it was way too dark so I had to sit at the front. As for the drinks, and this is why I'm giving them a 3, are just normal, a bit bland and nothing special. We order 4 drinks and 2 cookies. - the oolong tea (with lemon and something else): not impressed, boba was a little hard so wouldn't recommend adding it in. - cookies were okay - matcha was good. They used good matcha powder. Not bitter.

Every dish was a masterpiece, bold and elegant, comforting and exciting all at once. This is vegan food that doesn't whisper or apologize--it commands the room. The flavors were layered, intentional, and downright magical. Each plate arrived like a work of art, and somehow tasted even better than it looked. I kept thinking, there is no way the next dish can top this--and yet, it always did. Plant proves, without question, that vegan cuisine can be indulgent, luxurious, and unforgettable. And then... the dessert. I am not exaggerating when I say it deserves its own standing ovation. Rich, decadent, perfectly balanced--one bite and time stopped. If happiness had a flavor, this would be it. I would return to Plant for dessert alone, without a second thought. Plant is hands-down the best vegan restaurant in Asheville. It's passion, creativity, and excellence on a plate. If you haven't eaten here yet, you're missing out on something truly special. Some vegan foods that I've tried has a tendency to be over salted or seasoned or just hides behind some type of soy-based protein for texture and to try to be something it's not. I can happily say plant has dodged this with ease We got the Cauliflower, Roasted Beets, Broccolini (seasonal, not pictured sorry), Cheese Board (not pictured ... sorry again), and The Curry.Honestly have fun with the menu, there was nothing that missed. I would say most definitely get the Cheese Board. It came with a unique set of cheeses with different flavors and textures. How do you age a cashew cheese?!?! It came with a nice assortment of pickled veggies, fruits, gluten free bed, and olives. Nice and big too If you couldn't already, I loved my experience here. Perfect ambiance for a date night too! I found Chestnut on Yelp and decided to wander in. The space has this elevated modern rustic vibe with a southern twist and a little bit of sass. They even sell shirts that say neither hoity nor toity, which cracked me up. Honestly, the atmosphere was great, but our waitress was the real star. She was absolutely phenomenal and looked after us perfectly. My palate was pretty fried, so I started with a Bloody Mary to wake up. Truth be told, it was just okay. The house mix had an odd flavor that nobody at the table could quite identify, and it seriously lacked spice. It was just kinda bland. I noticed a bottle of Firewalker hot sauce on the table, and splashing that in helped a little bit. After that, I transitioned to a mimosa. You really cannot mess up a mimosa too much, and it was a solid, reliable second drink. For the main event, I ordered the southern chicken and waffles. This came with a fried chicken breast sitting on golden malted waffles, smothered in sausage gravy, and drizzled with chipotle honey. It was a really great dish. The kitchen did a solid job with the fry on the chicken, and the gravy had a nice flavor. It leaned a little on the sweet side because of the honey, but it was not totally overdone. The real sleeper hit of the morning, though, was the side of cheesy grits. Those grits were absolute heaven. They were incredibly creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you go, you have to order them. Chestnut is in a great location, and despite the weak Bloody Mary, it was a stellar visit.
