Trivia: Shipping to Alaska can be an expensive thing. Short Sleeves talks on their website of shipping everywhere. But do they ship to Alaska and is shipping free? I'm going to go ahead and answer that: yes and YES. WHICH MEANS, there is a lot to love about Short Sleeves. The pastries are super tasty and worth the wait. The ambiance is comfy and tailored to everyone: workers, chillers, children. And the coffee. Beyond my expectations. They blend flavor, attention to detail, and glam. And they ship to Alaska. - - Lots of natural light. A great place to work, chat with friends. Be prepared for a line. Worth the wait.

We stopped by today for the first time and we got a dark chocolate mocha. We really enjoyed it. It was very relaxing inside with very friendly baristas. The coffee had a pleasant earthy flavor with a nice texture. We will plan to go again.

Easily one of my favorite 3 coffee shops in the entire state of NC. Was headed out to the Blue Ridge Mountains for a hike and found this place. Cant wait to get back again! Such an awesome space, perfect coffee shop vibes, and a super cool staff that loved their jobs. Couldn't be any cooler if they tried. The coffee was amazing and the food was, too! Just wish this was closer to home for me.

They put a candle in the pastry because it was my birthday. Nice touch!

Great boutique, coffee shop in the downtown area of Swannanoa right off of Highway 70. The space is very clean and open. Ample spots for dates and groups to hang out. The coffee is roasted on site and is definitely a higher end brew. The prices are right in line. The staff are so friendly. A great place to hang out and have a great cup of coffee in the Swannanoa area.

Ham and cheese croissant with and oat milk dark chocolate mocha. The perfect pre-hike breakfast!

Food and coffee were both delicious. The space was cozy and clean. I hung out reading a book for a while before setting out on a hike. I never felt rushed or in the way. The staff were friendly and helpful. I bought a couple of bags of coffee on the way out. I'll probably be back tomorrow!

We stumbled upon this place returning from black mountain and it was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful in helping us choose a bag of coffee to take home and the Nicaraguan is 100% worth picking up if you wanted to try a bag for home. The drinks were perfect l. Staff incredibly friendly. Great ambiance. Pastries are from recess (one of our other favorites) all around this cafe is an incredible addition for Swannanoa and we love seeing some sense of peace and comfort coming back to the area post-Helene. We will be back soon!

This is an absolutely fantastic coffee shop. We buy our coffee from here because they roast in small batches and it is delicious. Also, their specialty drinks are super yummy. They have all the classics plus some really great homemade syrups. They have fresh pastry delivery from several different local bakeries, including gluten-free options. The decor is beautifully done, and there are so many wonderful places to sit and chat. It is also run by quite possibly the sweetest family you'll ever meet. We are super thankful to have them in Swannanoa!

Short Sleeves is potentially my new favorite coffee shop in the Asheville area. The coffee is really really good (and roasted in-house), the vibe of the shop is the perfect blend of minimalist and cozy, and the owners/staff are all super kind and helpful! I will be back as often as I can justify it.

I…read morethought the concept sounded a little weird, but when I saw it on the special menu here, I had to go for it. I was NOT disappointed! The banana flavor was spot on, like a true banana. Not like the typical artificial banana flavoring you'd find in a candy. It was sweetened just enough and topped with little vanilla wafer pieces. We were only inside for a short period of time, but this was a really cute place with comfy seating and a calm, quiet vibe. Staff were friendly and efficient. The only thing that could have made my drink better would have been more ice, but then I would have less of my delicious beverage, so I can't really complain.

We arrived at around 7:15 am and were greeted by two regulars hanging out front with their dogs, which meant that Mrs. K. got her morning dog fix before we even made it inside. That set a great tone for a good day. The welcome inside was warm in the small town way that feels genuine instead of forced, just easy smiles and a quick hello as I ordered. It was rather quiet when we arrived but the folks seemed to start pouring in as we sipped our coffees. My cortado was excellent even if it was in a paper cup. Mrs. K. was happy with her latte which is the proper test. We lingered a bit, enjoying the quiet and watching Black Mountain wake up around us before getting back on the road. A great little stop just off I-40 and a perfect start for the day. Five stars! [Review 540 of 2026 - 4635 in North Carolina - 25722 overall]

My doctor said I aged just like any other human but that my physical fitness and condition was that of someone 25 years younger than me. At that time, I didn't know what 'outlier' meant so I called him a mammogram. He just looked at me confused, which was the plan. With that out of the way, this is more of a bread place than a bagel place. If I had gone here for bread (even though a bagel is bread), I likely would have given it 5 Stars. But I was here for a bagel. They didn't have plain or poppy so I got a Toasted Sesame bagel. I did get it toasted but it was literally called a Toasted Sesame. It was okay. The cookies were also good not great. I still could have maybe given a 4 thanks to great service, a cool vibe, outdoor seating, and impeccable cleanliness but instead of the bagel being $2 and change, they charge another $2 for service (buttering the bagel). So, how a bagel and a small bag of three cookies, it was $9 after leaving a $1 tip. Other negatives are no option for a paper receipt and no bathroom. He did offer to guide me through the kitchen to the employee bathroom but that would be awkward. If you're local and seeking amazing bread options, you will probably love it. If you're on a road trip on I-40 and want a bagel and a bathroom, it ain't the place.
