This place was PACKED the morning I went and I totally understand why! We were in and out pretty quick considering the line. But the speed didn't take away from the coffee. Had a honey lavender latte and was pleasantly surprised at how floral it tasted. Sometimes the floral flavors are too background for me but I could taste it really well. Yet it didn't overshadow the coffee flavor which was also incredible. I also had a croissant which was delightful! Flaky deliciousness. We took our coffees to go. But I'd definitely stay and sip if I went again!
A great coffee shop to try in downtown Asheville! Loved the different options for espresso and nonespresso beverages. Also, plenty of food options for food. I ordered an iced honey lavender latte. I could tell the syrup was made fresh. It's very lavender forward, not much honey flavor. The latte was still very good. I stayed for a bit to do some remote work. There's plenty of seating and outlets to get some work done. The coffee shop isn't too loud either. Great service and experience!

Interiors and ambiance is 10/10 - plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Bathrooms are clean and decorative. Staff are friendly. I got a Cortado for $4 - it was perfect with a cute foam art which I rarely get with a Cortado. We also got a dirty chai for $6.25 - I did not taste it myself but I was told it was good. They also sell whole beans and some artisanal chocolates and other merch. If come back if I lived here.
The barista was very nice, really cozy space. There was some construction going on upstairs or I would have stayed longer. The latte and cappuccino were fantastic. Best latte in Asheville?!

The shop itself has a really cool aesthetic -- minimalist but warm -- with a quiet corner vibe that makes it a great place to slow down and actually enjoy what you're drinking. I started with a cortado, which was beautifully balanced. The espresso came through clearly while the milk softened it just enough -- smooth, rich, and exactly what a cortado should be. Then I tried both of their seasonal drinks. Roses Are Falling (no mocha) was delicate and aromatic, with floral notes that felt intentional rather than perfumey. It was subtle, interesting, and really well composed. I also had the Hello Ruby, which brought a brighter flavor profile and rounded out the experience nicely. Both drinks showed a lot of creativity without losing the coffee itself. Between the precision behind the bar, the thoughtful drink menu, and the calm, stylish space, Rowan is a standout coffee stop in Asheville. Definitely a place for people who appreciate the craft behind the cup.
Wow! So glad we came across this place while in town. We love visiting local coffee shops when we travel and this one will be staying on our list for Asheville. The drinks were incredibly smooth and perfect flavor. One of the best chais I have had. We will be back!
NO ONE LIKE ROWAN | one of my favorite coffee shops in Asheville has got to be Rowan. Their seasonal specialty coffee menu is unmatched. Whether it's the seasonal special or a drink made with one of the housemade syrups, you can't go wrong. I've tried their honey lavender and juniper syrups, which were both excellent in iced lattes. The sweetie pie is the perfect fall drink and the hello ruby was perfect for spring. I'm not sure if they make the pastries in house or order them from another bakery but we loved the blueberry fig cream cheese danish. The interior is clean and love the decor. They always allow our small leashed pup inside which is convenient since I felt uncomfortable leaving her in the car and there isn't any outdoor seating. Definitely add this one to your coffee rotation, whether you're a local or Asheville visitor!
Great stop on our coffee tour of Asheville. Got a drip coffee and breve cappuccino and found a nice quiet spot to sit and read in the back. Seating was comfortable, lighting was warm and soft for this easy Sunday morning. The staff was very kind and allowed us to get our drip in our own cup (note there's a discount for this!). Really enjoyed the coffee and vibe and would come back to try some of the light food offerings!
The coffee is delicious. If you're an espresso snob like myself, you won't be disappointed. The ambiance is perfect for meeting with friends or getting real work done. The music is tasteful and not distracting, the overall space is bright despite the darker earthier paint and makes for a phenomenally relaxing space. the service staff is friendly, knowledgeable and makes an exceptional coffee!

Recently, I met a date here, as Rowan seemed like the perfect setting for such a memorable beginning. After we greeted one another with an intimate kiss just outside the doors of Rowan Coffee, I observed a Duchenne smile flash across her face before we embarked on what became an emotionally recursive, psychologically layered Asheville odyssey, as we explored Malaprop's Bookstore, the Grove Arcade, Wall Street, Pack Square Park, I.M. Pei's connection to structures outside both the Louvre and the Asheville Art Museum, French Broad Chocolate, Cúrate, and the South Slope. The coffee at Rowan is truly exceptional. Each cup is thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and served with care by passionate baristas. It can be rather challenging to find premium cold brew these days, but the cold brew on offer here is some of the best I've found in Asheville. Whether you're enjoying a cappuccino, catching up with a friend, or studying/working near the back, Rowan provides the perfect atmosphere for unwinding and savoring the moment. My date ordered a mocha that morning, and based on the enthusiasm with which it disappeared, I'd be remiss not to mention it. The mochas are so good here that girls do circle back. And if you don't, you're missing out. What truly sets Rowan apart is its comfort. It's an intimate space without being overcrowded; it's stylish without being pretentious. Yeah this place can take all my money. Really cute inside, pretty spacious as well! Got a cappuccino and it is well done, rounded bold flavors and the perfect ratio. Also got a pastry (peach almond danish), which was good, I just wish there was an option to heat it up so the texture could shine. Can't wait to come back! read more

Rowan is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was so kind and helpful with recommendations. Ended up trying a latte with the seasonal miso caramel syrup and it was great. Plenty of parking nearby and a great stop in Asheville. read more

Rowan coffee was busy on a Friday afternoon in October, and rightfully so. Staff handled the long line incredibly well, and the decor with some items for sale made the wait seem like nothing. The chai latte and Danish pancakes I had were excellent -- definitely different from any pancakes I've had before. They featured a stewed apple butter topping which was absolutely delicious. Friends got coffees, pastries, sandwiches, and other dishes with rave reviews. Definitely a great stop to eat inside or out (weather permitting). Strong WiFi if you'd like to work from there. read more

A small coffee shop with a variety of selection of coffee, tea, and pastries. The baristas served the coffee fast. My friend also got an almond croissant which was warm with a custard-like filling. The cashier also helped me with choice of a bag of coffee beans which was roasted in this shop. There are some tables and seating area. Atmosphere: Rowan is a dark, cozy coffee shop in Downtown Asheville. There are a few tables available inside if you want to cool down after walking around the area. Service: Our barista was friendly, and our drinks came out quickly. Food: We ordered an Iced Americano and Iced Vanilla Latte. The Iced Americano was maybe too acidic for our liking and tasted too watered down. The Iced Vanilla Latte was pretty standard with mild espresso, and we liked how it wasn't overly sweet. Overall: We'd recommend Rowan Coffee if you're a fan of more acidic coffee and light roasts. The Americano wasn't our favorite, but the Iced Vanilla Latte decently met our expectations. read more

I can definitely see why this place pretty much has all five stars! I got their specialty winter latter which was truly one of the best I've had (and I'm a big flavored/specialty latte person). Loved the candied orange touch. All the pastries were incredible as well, we had: - Spinach and cheese croissant - wow, best croissant sandwich ever (make sure to get it heated) - Cardamom bun- similar to a cinnamon bun, very gooey (wish it came a bit warmer though) - Quiche (good but my least favorite of the tree (had a few cold patches so wish it came hot) Cute ambiance, would be a perfect place to work during the day as well, a surprisingly fair amount of seating read more

This coffee shop is gorgeous. A little small, but whoever did the interior did a great job. The espresso is a little acidic for my personal taste, but clearly a well-roasted, well-made cortado. Customer service is as a little mixed; the person who took my order was not the warmest (on par with most good shops hah) but the one who served my drink seemed really kind. read more
