This job was my first job at 16 years old and it was a horrible first job. I was getting paid 7.25 and hour working full time 6 days a week doing more then what I should have been. They isn't train me to cook but the owner still expected me to k ow what I was doing. Witch is so unfair. The other owner robear he's a prick, he constantly yells at me he even put hands on me more then once and I've asked them to stop treating me like garbage but they don't listen. My knee was very swollen due to past surgery and I asked my boss if I can leave early because it hurt and she told me no they care more about themselves then their employees. We visited for the first time on a busy Saturday morning. The place was full. There were three servers working. It was clear immediately that there was confusion around who was going to be our server. It took 10+ minutes for anyone to come take our order. 2 different people stopped by to get my coffee order and each told us they'd be back to take our order. More waiting. Finally, someone showed and said they weren't sure what the other server was doing, so they'd just take our order. It certainly felt as though we were a burden. Food took twice as long as the people behind us and it was lukewarm or room temperature. My son's eggs were way undercooked. He took a couple of bites and then decided he couldn't eat them. Throughout the entire meal, we didn't seem to have a dedicated server. One person would show up and refill my coffee and then we'd be passed up numerous times by the 2 servers, neither of which seemed to be working our table. As the meal went on, the attention we received was less and less. I understand that everyone has a bad day, and I usually reserve judgement until I've given another chance. But I spent $50 on lukewarm breakfast where none of the servers wanted to take my table. The experience was poor. Very poor. $50 is a big risk for a second try for breakfast. read more

HORRIBLE experience today! One of the waitresses was using profanity towards one of the cooks and even upset the cook so badly that the cook left! The waitress continued to ride her high horse and bash the cook. I confronted her about it and she claimed that she had no idea what I was talking about. As other people have said, service is not the best, it took a long time to get in (which is understandable due to COVID requirements) but once inside, service was really slow, water didn't get filled quickly, our order was taken only after a long wait, and overall, it took probably between an hour and an hour and a half to get our food even after an hour wait to get a table. This day was our departure from Idaho for the return leg of our Great Northern Idaho Road Trip and Family Bonding Experience. We had purchased some items from a company in Post Falls, and had to exchange them before we headed home, and had about 30 minutes to kill before they were ready. We asked our contact for a good breakfast recommendation, and was told for sure the Corner Cafe was the place to go. Boy, was she ever right. As we pulled up, I knew the place had all the earmarks of a great diner. Small, full parking lot, and that 'look' that great little places like this have. We were seated promptly and offered menus. The Wife had the Full Sail Breakfast Special with Biscuits and Gravy, and The Kid went for the Belgian Waffle and Bacon. I went for the Meat Lover's scramble with Biscuits and Gravy. The Wife's was far more than she could eat, and she loved every bite she could get. The Kid scarfed down her waffle like nobody's business. As for my breakfast.... let me just say this.... The Corner Cafe was the first place I've ever eaten, in my life, that I couldn't eat all my breakfast. That's saying a lot, because I can pack away the grub. What probably compromised my reputation was my wife giving me her two link sausages.... they were huge and oh, so good. The addition of the German Sausage to the scramble was genius. I never fill these things out but I felt strongly enough to do it today meals were poorly cooked, complaining about crepes having none and new cook, and short a server as I watched the lady cleaning tables stand and visit with a couple for a half hour while we waited for food. Visited on 7/16/20 @ 9:35 am. The atmosphere was country and cute. There seemed to confusion and chaos. We seated ourselves. We received our water and menus. Took about 10 mins for our order was taken. Then the wait began. From 9:45 to 10:21finally our food arrives missing bacon for one order. Waited about three minutes for bacon. Daughter had scrambled eggs and bacon, her eggs were lukewarm. I had sausage gravy and biscuits it was very lukewarm and the biscuits were not cooked all the way thru. The waitress offered to microwave but I refuse. The gravy had great flavor. Our waitress was apologizing. Then as we were leaving our waitress told cooks that tables 1 and 2 had left paid our bill when the female cook told waitress why had she not told them that the two tables had left when she said she had the cook told her she hadn't. My husband is a tall large male and it was very uncomfortable to sit in but didn't want to make a scene by leaving so we stayed and suffered. After an hour I finally got my eggs Benedict the poached eggs were over cooked almost boiled, my hash browns were oddly cold undercooked but 1/4 of them were burnt. My husband doesn't get his food until 10 minutes later but no fries... the waitress stated " the owner is here food should start coming out faster." ... what? Food that doesn't taste like it came out of restaurant-chain-production-machine... a little home-style cookin' wtih a personal touch is a wonderful treat in the world of mass produced food. "DELIGHTED" - that's what my two teenagers and I were, when we discovered The Corner Cafe, yesterday. Having never been in before, the waitress was super helpful guiding us to all their most favorite menu items. This is one of the best diner menus I've seen in years and was not expecting much when we walked in - lots of variety, all home made, and plenty of portion of you're hungry, prices were very reasonable, too. The menu was varied, with lots of delicious options, I could hardly make up my mind. My teenage son had the All-Scramble - which he declared "The best breakfast ever", he was so delighted with the home-made buscuits, he asked if they sold them in bulk (which they do if you call ahead - they make them fresh every morning). My daughter and I had the Trojan burger - good God, it was good. Anyone that follows our Yelp posts knows that we've been on a hunt for "the best burger in Spokane" since we moved here three years ago - The Corner Cafe is now in my top spot (Milk Bottle used to hold that spot, but they haven't reopened)- I loved the burger, so did my teenage daughter - tons of flavor, not too sloppy, made with great ingredients - YUM! Do not be daunted by the old building, the worn table cloths or the folksy decor - the food is fab, staff was very friendly, service terrific - we'll absolutely be going back. What drew us in? In Post Falls Idaho for work and looking for some good breakfast food ( for lunch, since my hotel free breakfast was cereal and an English muffin). I love breakfast so in I went. Located literally on the corner in a little strip mall, this is a classic American breakfast and lunch diner. The small, local kind if place where the customers come in not simply to get a meal, but to sit, chat and read their newspaper with their coffee. It's not fine dining, but that's just fine with me. Reasonably priced, I got a good sized meal with orange juice for $10.00. Ordered the Full Sail Breakfast Special if I recall the name correctly. Three eggs, two bacon, two big sausage links with choice of hash browns (my option) or breakfast potatoes, plus toast, a small pancake or a homemade biscuit with gravy (went with the biscuit). The food was good, bacon just crispy, plenty of hash browns just crispy on the one side, sausages good (slight grease but not too bad), with good eggs. The biscuit was very good, not dry, and the country gravy had a little spice kick to it from being liberally seasoned with black pepper. If you're looking for the classic little local breakfast place, where the coffee flows all the time and the locals hang out for a while over their papers, this is your place. read more
