I lived in Clarkesville for a year and ate at this place a couple times a week. I miss it already! Everything is incredible, but some of my favorites were the greek salad, copper pot pizza, fancy pants pizza, crab cakes, pizza frita, and their specials. They have a great wine list and beer selection and will have their liquor license in June. The servers are excellent and very attentive. There is an excellent patio for outdoor dining. Several of the previous reviews are right on. I did not have time to research before going in. Entry configuration is odd. You park in the back, which is ok, but you walk past all the building's exterior utities to get in. Ther is a sign telling us to allow a hostess to seat you. We stopped at the first person we saw. It was a waitress who directed us to the front of the room. Most restaurants with a rear entrance have hostess stand when you come in. Not here. We were seated immediately. We ordered drinks, then waited for a while. We engaged in the universal indicator of folding up our menus and placing them at the edge of the table. It did not seem to matter. I finally flagged down the waitress fearing a long night. The order took a while to come out. While we were waiting, I asked for my cheese shaker at the table to be refilled. It was empty. About 20 minutes passed. The food came out, and no cheese. I had to teal it from another table. Several of them were empty as well. The pizza was incredible. Perfectly cooked and loaded with flavor. Fresh ingredients and attention to detail. Shortly after finishing my first slice, our waitress brought out my cheeae. It seems that much of the wait staff is in an incoherent haze. If the front of the house had the same standards as the kitchen, this place would be a hands down home run. I don't ever remember giving a rating of 2 for a place with food this good. Seriously one of my favorite places to eat in Clarkesville! The Cordon Bleu pizza is to die for. Wonderful flavors, crisp flat bread pizza, and fresh ingredients. On their dinner menu, they have a Grilled Salmon with bacon (yes,bacon) vinaigrette. Oh my GOODNESS, you are delicious. They try new and almost unique flavors and make wonderful dishes. Mike, the head bartender (or I think he was, he acted like he was..), can mix a darn good drink. You can tell he cares for his job and has passion to bring interesting drinks to the customer. I rate the food and drink 5 stars. Now... saying that, the service is awful. I think they just hire anyone who applies. It wasn't this bad last year. Took 15 minutes to get my glass of Riesling... after the waitress brought me Pinot Grigo. Awkward. She just didn't seem to care. Ordered my food, didn't check on me or even recommend anything. I ordered some dessert, a local artisan gelato, only for her to forget about it. When I asked for my gelato, 30 minutes later, she remembered that they "ran out". Really? I understand running out of menu items, but making me wait 30 minutes? I rate the service and staff 3 stars. read more

We went for lunch after a hike at nearby Tallulah Gorge state park, so we had built up quite an appetite!! We trusted our fellow yelpers and went and are glld we did. Lovely decor, great menu, solid crab cakes, and STELLAR noodles caprese consisting of pasta with roasted tomatoes, basil & fresh mozzarella all blended to perfection with lots of olive oil. Our 12 yr old daughter LOVED the alfredo sauce, even though it was very garlicky; it was rich but not too rich. Our son adored the kids meatballs & tomato sauce, which was HUGE for a kid and excellent, meatballs hinted of fennel. The caesar dressing was eh, sort of thick and only slight anchovy hint. And there are no whole wheat pastas or whole wheat bread options, which for the wife is an issues-- thus the 4 not five stars. We didn't have time for desert but are eager to go back. It seems to be a happening town place with music and other events listed on a big blackboard. The patio was lovely as the weather was mild, but the main dininggroom is large if you are not into that. Excellent fast & friendly service. Nice to kids too. We would return if we were nearby and wanted to drop some $. We did lunch for 4 for around 50, so that sa bit steep, but it was very good food AND we were headed home and happened to have a freezer bag in the trunk, so made it more reasonable that we had leftovers enough for 2 lunches. read more

This place is just a little off of the downtown drag. It has adequate parking and an unassuming outside presence. Staff was friendly and courteous. It can seat large or small groups as needed. The restaurant has a good vibe and is comfortable. The service was good, but time from order to table was slow, so not good for the working crowd. The menu is a little trendy, so don't expect your average pizza here. I found the food to be OK at best, but not a place I would come back to nor recommend to anyone (even though I did get dragged back a second time only for the same experience yet again). Expect to spend too much also. Keep looking...there is better than this. read more

This wonderful restaurant deserves all the bowl-shaped accolades proudly displayed in the window and more. An easy 5 stars - from the friendly host and waiter, prompt service, and food fast, fresh, and hot out of the kitchen. And lest I forget, life-changing, delicious pizza. We came on a Wednesday and splurged on the $5 wings for an appetizer - they arrived steaming and soaked in a delicious barbecue sauce minutes later. But the entree, the Big Meaty pizza, deserves a nomination to the food hall of fame. The sauce was fresh with just the right amount of spice. The carnivorous toppings were perfectly proportioned. The crust was light and crunchy and could seriously stand on its own. I've never seen a pizza that was just crust and I don't know if earth's physics would allow it, but if it could be done, I would eat it. Go, eat, enjoy. read more

I found this great spot on a trip through the North GA mountains. Located in Clarkesville, the food is amazing and reasonably priced. Most of the food is made on site, including the best Pimento Cheese I've ever had--and that's saying something, because I'm a connoisseur of Pimento Cheese! After waiting an hour and forty minutes for our pizza because they forgot to place our order {no problem, mistakes happen}, not being acknowledged when I walked in, then being yelled my total across the bar, and asking for some kind of apology for the inconvenience I was rudely told to "just take my order" twice with NO apology and on my way out the door I was called a "F-Ing Bit**. My husband and I ate here for lunch today and it was very good! Or waitress was focused and attentive and our eats were served quickly. We shared a large margherita pizza ($18). I have to say I'm very picky about the pizza dough and boy did theirs please my palate. Sometimes the outer crust is tough and tasteless. Theirs was crusty on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside! I also ordered a half garden salad ($7 - and excellent, by the way). All their dressings are homemade, and I had strawberry ranch at the waitress's suggestion. Loved it!! Our total bill was $31 with iced teas. Maybe a little high, but we'll be back! read more

We love this restaurant. In my inion, it is by far the best place to eat in Clarkesville. We have eaten here many times and have never had anything but great, friendly service. The food is good and the specials change often enough to make the menu interesting. I particularly like the strawberry pecan salad with shrimp. The half size is the perfect meal. My husband enjoys the pizza and we both like the fact that there are alternatives to the usual fried fare found at just about every other Clarkesville restaurant. read more

We were driving through Town on our way back home and decided to stop in..Loved the space, it looked like a great little place. We got there a little early, around 5 and there were only 2 other tables being served. Slowest service ever. Two other parties came in after us and their orders were taken before ours. It took about 20 minutes before our order was taken. The food came out in a decent amount of time, but our waitress never came back to check on us... she was too busy talking. My husband had to go up front and ask for some warm marinara since-what they brought to us was cold. Poor service, ok food. We also had to get up to ask for our check. Doubtful we will be back. this used to be an amazing place to go for fabulous pizza. About a year ago we noticed a change that has continued and till today and honestly has only worsened. Tonight waited 90 minutes for a 2 pizza takeout order. Total chaos is clearly visible in the kitchen and food quality has greatly declined. Love this restaurant! It's a favorite of my family's and we love to go here when we all get together. The food can take a while to get to the table, but it's worth it when it gets there. We usually aim for Tuesday nights when they have half-priced large pizzas (dine-in only). The ambiance is wonderful, with mood lighting and covered outdoor seating. Live music can sometimes be found by the full bar. It's a step up from casual, but don't feel like you have to be super dressy to feel comfortable there (casual date-night apparel is appropriate). read more

I live in Marietta, Georgia. So about two hours away from The Copper Pot. I find excuses to go up to Clarkesville so I can eat the food at The Copper Pot. My personal favorites are their Spinach salad and the Crab cake sandwich. If they delivered pizza I'd order it every night it's so insanely good. For my wedding back in 2009 I had it in Helen, GA but made my guests drive over to Clarkesville so I could have the reception at The Copper Pot. No one complained about having to drive after they had their delicious dinners. In short, go on a hike up in North Georgia, go antiquing, go fishing, whatever just get up there and eat at The Copper Pot while you're there. Then get a pizza to go for the drive home. :) read more

We normally go on Sunday when they offer the BOGO special on pizza (dine-in or carryout). I've had the Big Meaty and the Big Cheese pizzas, they were both very good. I've also tried their burger and it is also very good. The food is great, the building is nice... the only knock is the service which is completely hit or miss but it's a good pizza joint. I see that only one other person seemed to have the experience we did at The Copper Pot. Our visit was for supper on a Friday night in October 2011. I will keep an eye on Yelp to see if I want to try it again. A huge pet peeve of mine is an empty beer glass. This happened too many times in our visit here. Our necks about broke trying to locate our server to relieve our thirst. Along with that the wait for a table, the place wasn't even close to full, and the wait for service were not fun when looking forward to a good supper. The menu has some different type of items on it but be prepared, the dinner plates are not large and when I was watching people at other tables it looked like they only had a 1/3 of a plate of food compared to what I was looking forward to eating. We did share some wings to start and they were quite good. The food choices were quite expensive for what others got so we stuck to salads. They were pretty good but the whole experience just kind of left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

Had a pizza there about four months ago and it was awesome, especially the crust. Probably the best I've had in a few years. Went back last week for another because the memory was so good. What a huge disappointment! This time the pizza was tasteless, the crust underneath was burned, and that which wasn't burned tasted like cardboard. Totally love this place! I fish the Soque river and hit this place every time I come through Clarkesville. They have the ultimate salad (balsamic dressing), pizza, and Cuban sandwich with caramelized onions. It's got a good vibe and some pretty cool specials on different nights of the week. The food is consistently good here, but as other reviewers have noted; the staff is less than stellar. We went today with the usual after church crowd and there seemed to be only one waitress for the whole restaurant with some help from street-clothed bus staff. The bus staff dropped off our food, onions when we said "no onions", salad forgotten; the waitress only stopped back to drop off the check & refill a drink. We were dining with my sister who was picking up her portion of the tip in cash. The waitress picked up our credit card slipped, slammed it on a nearby table, and announced to one of the bus staff that the tip was not even 10% and we didn't deserve her awesome service right in front of us. My sister promptly picked up her cash. Too bad, she would have had 18% for her so-so service is she could have practiced a little professional decorum. read more

2 Tried CP for the second time last night - disappointed again only parts of the meal were good :( same thing happened last time - the nacho fries were out of this world wonderful - the crackling chicken- ok but the burger was not good at all - you can't serve a tasteless burger in a restaurant of this caliber - our service was okay - not sure if we will it try again - maybe the pizza again though the first time we had pizza one was good - one of as not ?!? You have to be consistent! 3 Third time is suppose to be a charm but it was not to be- Mediocrity has no place in the food industry- Over 70 dollars for just okay pizza is unacceptable- crust is tasteless and toppings skimpy and again the "fresh" basil was missing in action - Bummed because the wait staff is awesome and ambiance is cool! read more
