Trying new restaurants in the area, and ordered "to go" from Copper Note. I ordered the Voodoo Pasta. There wasn't bit enough sauce, which made the large rigatoni noodles overly dry. While waiting for my food, I did notice there was nice bar area. I might go back with friends and see if the food is any better when you actually sit and eat in the restaurant. read more

Had dinner last night at the Copper Note in Prescott. I live locally and enjoy going to Copper Note when company comes in. Once again, Copper Note, did not disappoint. Our server was Sandra. She was excellent. Very attentive, knew the menu well, and a pleasure to meet! We started with the Arizona clam and shrimp chowder. It is the best! I order a cup every time I am there. Packed full of deliciousness with the perfect amount of heat. Knowing that the entree portions are very good sized, I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna salad. It was perfect! A very large salad with lots of tuna, avocado, cucumber and the dressing was perfect! My son and his wife had the ribs and seared Ahi Tuna entree. Both entrees were very good. The Sunday Jazz Brunch was delightful. The live Jazz Band was really great. The food was fabulous (especially the filet mignon with the sauce was the best we ever had.) The brunch drinks were unusual but fit brunch perfectly. If you are lucky you can get a table overlooking Courthouse square. The waitress & waiters were attentive but not too attentive. The way this new Prescott restaurant handles reservations is problematic. I made a reservation online for a birthday celebration but it was clear when we arrived that no special arrangements had been made. I indicated this was for a special celebration but there was no acknowledgment of this event whatsoever when we arrived. Worse yet, they had clearly not reserved a table for us. The hostess said, "we have you set up right over here," and led us to a not great booth in the very corner which was clearly set for four people. Set up for us? Really? Also, it was clear that walk-ins were being given the ideal two-seaters while my friends birthday warranted zero acknowledgment and a bad four top in the corner. At these prices, this restaurant needs to do a MUCH better job on reservations and acknowledging special occasions. Not ONCE did our server wish my guest a Happy Birthday, even after I told her it was my friend's special day. They need to READ the notes in the reservation and respond accordingly. As for the food, they have clearly run OUT of salt. Filet mignon sans salt. Vegetables sans salt. Why bother? Our meal was $200 for two people and we will not return. Server was hurried, abrupt, and reeked of Casual Dining. The Cooper Note needs to do better. That view is not going to keep you in business through the winter when the tourists are gone. read more

In my opinion, there's a few things I would change. The automatic tip, absolutely ridiculous. Several of my friends have gone and tipped over the automatic tip. Most people are not aware and of course, the server is not going to tell you that it's already added. Our appetizer ribs, lukewarm. The voodoo pasta, lukewarm warm and had pieces of sausage and chicken that was cold when biting into it. Ordered cheese bread, didn't have it, but brought out 2 hard bread crisp and charged 3 dollars without us asking for it. They refill the water way too often, when glasses are already full. Can't have a decent conversation without being interrupted for one thing or another. You have a time limit also. Two stars for ambiance. read more

I took my husband to the Copper Note for his birthday. I made it an early appointment (4 p.m.). We got a table by the window, which ended up being the only plus from this dining experience. My husband ordered the Ahi and I ordered the ribeye, rare. Our dinner was brought to our table in a timely manner. When I cut into my ribeye, the color actually a yellow-green with a very large amount of fat bursting out of it. We waited for our server to come back to our table to check on our food, but she was nowhere to be found. My husband had to get up from the table and try to find her. Evidently, they were having a staff meeting at the bar, so my husband was able to speak directly to the manager. When he came to the table, he was visibly disgusted and apologized and told me that he would get me a new one. I presumed that he took it to the kitchen. but he was gone for over 45 minutes. The table next to us seated a couple, they ate, left and another couple was seated, ate and left by the time the manager returned to our table, with my steak , my husband had already finished his meal. He ordered an after dinner drink to sip while I attempted to eat my meal. I was very disappointed. Although my second steak was cooked properly, my vegetables and fancy mashed potatoes were bland and cool to the touch. I took a few bites of my sixty-four dollar steak, it was tasty, although unseasoned. It was hard to cut because of the gristle or perhaps my steak knife was dull, for whatever reason, I had to fight with my steak for every bite. After a few minutes of battling with my dinner, I asked to have it boxed up. We had already been there for over 2 hours and since I was actually eating alone so I pretty much lost my appetite. I asked for the dessert menu (it was my husband's birthday after all) and we ordered the flourless chocolate cake. It was pretty good, but it wasn't enough to turn around my utter disappointment in our evening. My husband and I do not go out to dinner very often, especially to a restaurant that is close to 100 dollars for each meal, with one glass of wine ( for him only). So, to wrap up my review, not only was this restaurant disappointing, but it was also expensive (especially on a fixed income). When the check came, our waitress was very perky and apologetic, and told us that she took the chocolate cake off of our bill to make up for our dinner issues. I personally think that our dinners should have been comped, or at least mine, but I guess they thought chocolate cake was a good enough of an effort to fix things. There are plenty of other places to eat that are just as good, and that will not make you eating alone, while we are sitting right next to each other, especially on a special occasion. I am still disappointed, even a day later. P.S. When we got home, my husband told me that after her ate his dinner, he found a black hair stuck on his plate, (I guess he didn't want me to blow a gasket in public). Obviously we will not be returning. If you choose venture to the Copper Note, I hope you have a better experience. read more

We had a great time, seated on a high table by the windows overlooking the square (make a reservation). Our server & her team were pros, friendly, helpful, but not overly so. The food was delicious -- avocado toast with a side of bacon, a vegie frittata and chocolate flourless cake, absolutely amazing. A jazz band played the whole time -- outstanding -- adding to the feeling of an upscale, sophisticated dining spot in historic downtown Prescott. Be prepared for an undisclosed 3 percent upcharge for using a credit card. The prices are on the high side, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Go! read more

I had dinner at this location in March. The atmosphere was modern flair over looking the court house square. The staff was wonderful and informative from the front staff to taking a drink order. The waitress was fantastic and explained each dish. The food was plentiful and very flavorful. We all enjoyed the meals and the cocktails. This is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Prescott. They do not know the difference between rare and black and blue. I ordered my ribeye rare and it was cold the butter didn't even melt. Sent it back and when I tried it again it was cold and the butter again wasn't melting. The manager came up and asked me what she could do, a manager shouldn't leave it up to the customer of what should be done. She gave a $12.50 discount and a dessert, a so called steak house restaurant should know how to make a steak. Be careful when you go there and ask them to define the way they cook a steak. read more

My husband and I have been looking forward to visiting this establishment since they opened. Valentine's was the day. We made our 1:45 reservation weeks ago and arrived in a timely manner. The atmosphere was great, service was spectacular, food.... Yikes. We ordered the Cobb salad, street tacos, and the bowl of AZ chowder, figured it was a good spread to gauge their specialty. 1) In my opinion, having any sort of sweet bacon (brown sugar) on a Cobb salad seems off. 2) The chicken seemed close to undercooked, could barely even cut it with the knife, let alone the fork provided. 3) Not even kidding... did they use Dente Moore beef, toss it in some adobe sauce and throw it on a couple tortillas??? Wow, that meat was inedible. I wanted to complain, but my Valentine's Day outing was far more important than being a "Karen". I really hoped for better and they seemed to have dropped the ball. I even emailed after the fact and they couldn't be bothered with any acknowledgement. Second time here. At lunch time on a Thursday the place was FULL! We both had the soup and salad. He had the Minestrone, very hearty, and Caesar, fresh with a really good dressing. I had the Southwest Clam Chowder, second time because it's soooo good, and Copper Note Salad which has mixed greens and a tropical salsa with fennel in an Asian miso ginger dressing that somehow all works beautifully. We went to The Copper Note for dinner after a very special evening. The interior had warm lighting and a modern but comfortable feel. It definitely felt like an upscale dining experience. Staff were insightful and attentive. We received a free berry cheesecake in a cute martini glass to celebrate. We were seated at a table against a window so we could view the Yavapai County Courthouse square -- beautiful. It created a lovely vibe for the dinner. We ordered the chips and guac and salsa and they both needed more salt and flavor. For our main dish, we ordered the center-cut ribeye sourced from a local ranch and cooked medium. It was served with the garlic herb butter that we could choose from three offered toppings. We also added on a lobster tail -- wonderful touch! The lobster was sweet and cooked well. It was the best part of the dish in my opinion. The ribeye was delicious and I liked that the fat cap was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The meat could've been more tender but I would order the steak again it was delicious and enough for us to share as an entree. As sides we had the herb fingerling potatoes and the grilled zucchini and squash. The potatoes were simple and executed fine. I prefer a crispier surface personally, but to each their own. They were yummy still. The zucchini and squash was a surprising star of the meal. Very tasty, with a charred finish that added complexity to the flavor of the vegetable. They were cooked in spear form and not overcooked and mushy. Very nice. We also ordered a couple flutes of Prosecco that was tasty, and my partner tried the strawberry basil cocktail. She found it tasty, but I think the basil was a little overwhelming. With basil you only need a touch to go a long ways. A new server checked on us at the end and she was the star of the experience -- she was warm, kind and energetic -- a lovely lady who made us feel welcome and celebrated. She should be an MVP of staff. Overall, it was a very delicious and pleasant experience to cap off our very special day! It is a worthy replacement to the County Seat restaurant that existed in the space previously. I would absolutely go back and make it an annual experience when we're in town. I give it four stars because of my critiques of the food but would do 4.5 if I could. I encourage people to give it a try for a nice night out. Lunchtime at The Copper Note! Very stylish decor, an upscale establishment. The servers looked and acted very professional. A bit noisy, but in their behalf, there was quite a large lunch crowd there. I ordered the charbroiled hamburger with herb roasted potatoes. We had what I think was the perfect server. She was present, but didn't hover, and made sure our needs were immediately met. The burger was great, a bit too much meat for me, so I was only able to eat half, but nonetheless done to perfection. The potatoes were delicious. The presentation was excellent. I ordered crème brûlée for dessert which was amazing! Great experience, wonderful restaurant!
