I took my husband to the Copper Note for his birthday. I made it an early appointment (4 p.m.). We got a table by the window, which ended up being the only plus from this dining experience. My husband ordered the Ahi and I ordered the ribeye, rare. Our dinner was brought to our table in a timely manner. When I cut into my ribeye, the color actually a yellow-green with a very large amount of fat bursting out of it. We waited for our server to come back to our table to check on our food, but she was nowhere to be found. My husband had to get up from the table and try to find her. Evidently, they were having a staff meeting at the bar, so my husband was able to speak directly to the manager. When he came to the table, he was visibly disgusted and apologized and told me that he would get me a new one. I presumed that he took it to the kitchen. but he was gone for over 45 minutes. The table next to us seated a couple, they ate, left and another couple was seated, ate and left by the time the manager returned to our table, with my steak , my husband had already finished his meal. He ordered an after dinner drink to sip while I attempted to eat my meal. I was very disappointed. Although my second steak was cooked properly, my vegetables and fancy mashed potatoes were bland and cool to the touch. I took a few bites of my sixty-four dollar steak, it was tasty, although unseasoned. It was hard to cut because of the gristle or perhaps my steak knife was dull, for whatever reason, I had to fight with my steak for every bite. After a few minutes of battling with my dinner, I asked to have it boxed up. We had already been there for over 2 hours and since I was actually eating alone so I pretty much lost my appetite. I asked for the dessert menu (it was my husband's birthday after all) and we ordered the flourless chocolate cake. It was pretty good, but it wasn't enough to turn around my utter disappointment in our evening. My husband and I do not go out to dinner very often, especially to a restaurant that is close to 100 dollars for each meal, with one glass of wine ( for him only). So, to wrap up my review, not only was this restaurant disappointing, but it was also expensive (especially on a fixed income). When the check came, our waitress was very perky and apologetic, and told us that she took the chocolate cake off of our bill to make up for our dinner issues. I personally think that our dinners should have been comped, or at least mine, but I guess they thought chocolate cake was a good enough of an effort to fix things. There are plenty of other places to eat that are just as good, and that will not make you eating alone, while we are sitting right next to each other, especially on a special occasion. I am still disappointed, even a day later. P.S. When we got home, my husband told me that after her ate his dinner, he found a black hair stuck on his plate, (I guess he didn't want me to blow a gasket in public). Obviously we will not be returning. If you choose venture to the Copper Note, I hope you have a better experience. read more

I had dinner at this location in March. The atmosphere was modern flair over looking the court house square. The staff was wonderful and informative from the front staff to taking a drink order. The waitress was fantastic and explained each dish. The food was plentiful and very flavorful. We all enjoyed the meals and the cocktails. This is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Prescott. We had a great time, seated on a high table by the windows overlooking the square (make a reservation). Our server & her team were pros, friendly, helpful, but not overly so. The food was delicious -- avocado toast with a side of bacon, a vegie frittata and chocolate flourless cake, absolutely amazing. A jazz band played the whole time -- outstanding -- adding to the feeling of an upscale, sophisticated dining spot in historic downtown Prescott. We did not have a reservation and they did not have any tables available; they asked us to wait a few minutes and during that time they separated a table and made room for us. In my opinion, there's a few things I would change. The automatic tip, absolutely ridiculous. Several of my friends have gone and tipped over the automatic tip. Most people are not aware and of course, the server is not going to tell you that it's already added. Our appetizer ribs, lukewarm. The voodoo pasta, lukewarm warm and had pieces of sausage and chicken that was cold when biting into it. Ordered cheese bread, didn't have it, but brought out 2 hard bread crisp and charged 3 dollars without us asking for it. They refill the water way too often, when glasses are already full. They do not know the difference between rare and black and blue. I ordered my ribeye rare and it was cold the butter didn't even melt. Sent it back and when I tried it again it was cold and the butter again wasn't melting. The manager came up and asked me what she could do, a manager shouldn't leave it up to the customer of what should be done. My husband and I have been looking forward to visiting this establishment since they opened. Valentine's was the day. We made our 1:45 reservation weeks ago and arrived in a timely manner. The atmosphere was great, service was spectacular, food.... Yikes. We ordered the Cobb salad, street tacos, and the bowl of AZ chowder, figured it was a good spread to gauge their specialty. 1) In my opinion, having any sort of sweet bacon (brown sugar) on a Cobb salad seems off. 2) The chicken seemed close to undercooked, could barely even cut it with the knife, let alone the fork provided. 3) Not even kidding... did they use Dente Moore beef, toss it in some adobe sauce and throw it on a couple tortillas??? Wow, that meat was inedible. I wanted to complain, but my Valentine's Day outing was far more important than being a "Karen". I really hoped for better and they seemed to have dropped the ball. I even emailed after the fact and they couldn't be bothered with any acknowledgement. Note to #2, I'm pretty certain the chicken was undercooked because both my husband and I felt like complete crap after consuming it. We enjoyed the beer and wine though! read more

Second time here. At lunch time on a Thursday the place was FULL! We both had the soup and salad. He had the Minestrone, very hearty, and Caesar, fresh with a really good dressing. I had the Southwest Clam Chowder, second time because it's soooo good, and Copper Note Salad which has mixed greens and a tropical salsa with fennel in an Asian miso ginger dressing that somehow all works beautifully. The quality of the steak is similar to Sprouts "Penny Meat" which might be good for a dog, but still questionable as it was 90% fat & gristle with a yellow tint on what should have been a cool red center of the muscle. I was sure that the chef must have been pissed off over something to even allow that cut of beef near his stove, but to allow it out of his kitchen was insulting, much less on my wife's plate. The only way it should have escaped the kitchen was in route to a garbage bin. At least when I showed it to the manager, he had an unfeigned look of horror. But to make the experience even worse, it took over half an hour to replace the rib eye, so the wife and ate our meals separately (yes I did) because my Ahi looked and tasted superb . . . that is until I uncovered a small jet black hair hiding under the rice . . . . I'll presume it was a hair off the back of the cook's knuckle. No, I didn't report the hair because my wife was already having a miserable time as it was without the additional disgust. On the plus side, the wait service was fair and the wine superior. Would I recommend this once five star establishment now? Not on your life! Maybe someone was having a really bad day, but when paying a couple hundred dollars for a celebratory meal (my birthday as well as the nation's 250th) I don't expect to share someone else's bad experience in a restaurant. read more

Lunchtime at The Copper Note! Very stylish decor, an upscale establishment. The servers looked and acted very professional. A bit noisy, but in their behalf, there was quite a large lunch crowd there. I ordered the charbroiled hamburger with herb roasted potatoes. We had what I think was the perfect server. She was present, but didn't hover, and made sure our needs were immediately met. The burger was great, a bit too much meat for me, so I was only able to eat half, but nonetheless done to perfection. The potatoes were delicious. The presentation was excellent. I ordered crème brûlée for dessert which was amazing! Great experience, wonderful restaurant! The Copper Note is a great change up for a dining option on Prescott. It is a little more formal and has an art deco vibe. Great bar, terrific views of the Courthouse Square. Request a window side table if you can. The staff are wonderful, Kelly was our waitress and she was terrific. Wine pours are generous and some of the best we've had in a while, great selection of wines both by the glass and bottle. Their martini looks dangerous so order at your peril! Food was hard to fault, only criticism was that the flavor profile of the hummus was pedestrian, there was no overtones of tahini or garlic, it was solid but not spectacular, we subbed the pita for veggies and there was a good selection provided. Wife had the soup and salad combo, both the minestrone and the Caesar were what you'd expect, good solid execution. My Voodoo pasta was stellar, great rendition of this dish, the spicy sausage was that, the chicken moist and tender and flavor packing a punch. New York cheesecake which they fly in from New York was phenomenal, highly recommend it. Walked away from this meal very satisified with the overall dining expereince. read more

The food and drinks were very good. The ambiance is nice with a great view of the Square if you can get a window table. Staff was very friendly, however, our waiter really rushed us to put our food order in immediately upon seating. We were there for a Holiday meal the day after Christmas and wanted to enjoy a drink and appetizer and the company of each other before we ordered. He just really pestered us to put our order in with several stops at the table while we were enjoying our hummus appetizer! We saw the note stating you can only stay at a table for 2 hours and were fine with that. After an hour and a half, he told us we needed to wrap it up, as he had another party arriving in 15 minutes. We ate at The Copper Note and were so impressed with the friendly and professional staff! They have really improved the ambiance with the renovation. We were greeted with a smiling hostess who seated us quickly. The food options were many and we were both very happy with our food choices. It was delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated for Christmas and is very classy with a beautiful view of the courthouse square. I would highly recommend trying The Copper Note! read more

I want to be thoughtful and yet raise the good the bad and no ugly. 1:30 afternoon lunch. First time, local patrons. Our meal and the service we received was 5 Stars. My wife had the filet which was perfect. Each restaurant is different when you ask for rare to medium. You need to ask what they consider doneness is to that chef. I enjoyed the swordfish and it was perfect and not dry. We dine at numerous high end restaurants and that's not to be snobby. It's just one of Pleasures. The veggies on both entrees were perfect and I'm a veggie guy. The wine for my wife was superb. Now to the bad. I'm glad I didn't see a tip already charged as reported in a previous complaint. that would be a never return flag. I was also disappointed in the charge for using a credit card but this isn't about the3% fee. If we're a mom and pop operationi can see that They have prices of most high end restaurants in Scottsdale that don't have that fee. But it's dragging ever nickel out of a patron as you can get. I'm not cheap But small pores on cocktails and and add on fees are a deal breaker. Long review but I hope helpful for others.
