This review is for *Angela* who was so helpful in picking out silverware and flatware!…read more We had a lot of considerations for the flatware, including: how high the plates sit off the top of the table (which affects how easy it will be to pick them up), how high the edge of the plate is (which effects how easily things might spill off them), how easy they will stack in dishwasher, how noisy it will be to cut on them (glazed is quieter than matte), how easily they will scratch (matte will scratch more easily), how heavy they will be, etc.! If you are a person with a disability, she would have great advice about how noisy the dishes might be when placing them down or cutting on them. She had a lot of opinions on the silverware, which was super helpful. Long story short... satin finishes scratches more easily than mirror finishes (and black will chip); if you can't stack the silverware, it will be very annoying; if the spoon is too deep, it will be uncomfortable to eat out of; and if the silverware is hollow... who wants that? We literally spent 20+ minutes on all this including test cutting on plates So - thank you Angela! Great customer service

As we were wandering around the store looking for leather recliners we noticed the staff person pass by us, twice, without any recognition at all. As we were leaving we had to pass her and I asked a question as to how long the store had been there as we could not remember it from the past. I truly felt like I was bothering her...She responded like the question annoyed her? or? Anyway, I'm not sure but when we left the store my husband and I both commented on how rude we felt she was! There was only the 1 employee (her) that we noticed so maybe she was having a bad day but we really do not feel the need to return to Random Harvest. There are plenty of places we can seek out a leather recliner from but it was a shame as the experience left us with a bad "taste" in our mouths for the business.

Everything upstairs is actually well merchandised and the entire upstairs area is carpeted. I've been to so many goodwill's that just looked like they've been trashed, but not this place. Downstairs you'll find plenty of children's wear, toys, men's clothing, bedding, pillows, pictures and some furniture. Upstairs there's lots of women's clothing, housewares, books and media. There's also three dressing rooms to try things on. They use different color tags on the items for additional discounts. Definitely one of the better Goodwills to shop at as the photos below show. The only complaint I have is that they have no public bathrooms. ***1/2

Ade was patient, understanding and professional every time I came into the store to look at chairs. She encouraged me to take my time and helped me make an informed decision about which chair to buy. Listening to Ade, helped me clarify what I was really looking for in an office chair and helped me see things I never would have seen or appreciated. More than anything else, though, I felt valued and heard from my first interaction coming through the door thru my purchase.

As far as Goodwill stores go, this place is almost as good as it gets! Organized and clean store…read morewith reasonably priced merchandise -- and oh, did I mention CLEAN?!?!? If you've ever gone thrift-shopping at any other Goodwill in this area, you know that they are usually not that clean. In fact, I'm typically skeeved out just entering the store and don't really want to touch, let alone try on, anything. Well, this store changed that for me. I went in with an open mind, and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted warmly by the two cashiers and to enjoy browsing the selection of highly organized racks of women's clothing. I even tried on two or three pieces before I left the store, though none of them fit me unfortunately. I do think this is the kind of store that you'd have to shop at fairly often in order to snag those wonderful, too-good-to-be-true pieces. The selection is good, but it's simply not large enough that you're guaranteed to find something on every visit. That said, I appreciated that the items on the racks seemed well-curated and carefully chosen, and they seemed as if they had been cleaned (whether by the donors or by Goodwill) before being brought to the floor. I'm definitely going to stop in this place regularly whenever I'm in Alexandria. I'm also going to join their rewards club so that I can get a discount on certain days and items. You should do the same!

Room & Board said it was not a defect and recommended using a dry iron with a paper bag or cloth, or hiring a furniture repair specialist. Their response was asking me to repeat the iron. I am disappointed with the finish durability and customer support for a premium dining table.

For kids clothes, save yourself a headache and avoid 529 Kids Consign. Blossom and Buds and Lemon…read moreLane have better prices and customer service. I've had 3 negative experiences at 529 Kids Consign over 4 months. 1- I bought kids' items on Instagram. Since the shop is a 30-45 minute drive for me, I called first to ensure my items were ready for pickup. The salesperson said, "I have them right here!" However, when I arrived, she was frantically searching for them. I asked for a refund, but was told to come back the next day when the owner, Megan, was in the store. When I explained this wasn't a possibility because I work full-time, she finally relented and gave me store credit but wouldn't issue a refund. 2- Before buying a kid's item on Instagram, I asked if there was any pilling, holes, or stains. I was told the item was in like-new condition. When I picked it up, it had lots of piling and a second item I bought had stains. (I was able to exchange the items, but the store needs to be more transparent about the condition of items.) 3- I was the first person to claim and pay for an item on Instagram. When I went to collect it, I was given the wrong dress. The store sold the dress I claimed to another customer who was second to claim. The salesperson called the owner Megan and her response was, "Uggh. I can't DEAL with this RIGHT NOW. I need to be a mom." I was shocked at her response. I have four children and my time is valuable too! A better response from the owner might have been, "I'm so sorry for the mixup. I'm not in a position to address this right now. May I call you back?" I offered the salesperson my phone number and asked if the owner could call me at a more convenient time. When Megan did call me she said, "There's nothing we can do and I can't help it that YOU read the post wrong." When I offered a suggestion on how to improve labeling in the Instagram posts, she said, "There's not a problem with our process." Further, when I mentioned how two of my items were previously lost Megan said, "I can't control what comes out of everyone's mouths. The items weren't lost, they were probably in the store but the girl couldn't find them and she probably doesn't even work here anymore." Megan also said she two girls who work in the store have dyslexia. It seemed strange to me that Megan didn't keep employees' medical issues private. Being open to feedback and providing training for employees are hallmarks of a good business. Sadly, 529 Kids Consign doesn't provide even the most basic level of customer service. So I'm choosing to spend my money elsewhere.

We decided that this place is not worth our time or money.

Not only was he such a joy to talk to, he was also very knowledgeable on every product that we inquired about on the floor. I was in the hunt for a new couch, and what I thought I liked (from ads online) ended up not being my favorite, but Nikko was so willing to show us various models and eventually we found the right one that really reminded me of a super costly couch from a different company that I was eyeing on (as a dream purchase). Nikko was willing to work with us and we truly feel like the value of the couch we purchased was reasonable. We are so lucky to not have to deal with people who resemble aggressive car salesmen. I would highly recommend anyone to come here for furniture needs, as this place is massive and actually has a nice selection of furniture. They also have sales often, and that really helped us justify the prices! Thank you Nikko and team for your professionalism, and great energy. Would highly recommend this location!!
