Today I had an exceptional experience at a HomeGoods store! From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The presence of a capable and attentive security guard added to the sense of comfort and professionalism. I also had the opportunity to speak with the store manager and share how pleasant and well-maintained the store looked and felt. The overall energy was bright, professional, and upbeat and it was clear the team truly enjoyed being there. This has quickly become my new favorite store! This is the closest location of this discount retailer that I could find to the center of DC. I found some interesting options and got most of what I needed. It is a warehouse that has discounted merchandise that you can't shop online, and once it's sold, it's gone. As long as you're not overly picky, you can find some living room, bathroom, and kitchen needs. They also have some specialty packaged food items. Checking out was a quick and smooth experience, which matters. I may come back for more needs. read more

BEWARE! Cashiers' dishonest sales tactic. I left my TJMAXX credit card home. The cashier said she could get my TJMaxx credit card number if I have my driver license. I told her as long as it doesnt do a credit bureau inquiry, its fine. I asked a total of 3 times during transaction. She assured me it would not. Almost immediately I received notice from AMEX tjmaxx inquired and now I have an upgraded TJMAXX Mastercard. SHE NEVER NEVER mentioned it was a credit card until transaction was completed. The manager on duty never came up front after I asked for him twice. AND my score dropped by 4 points and will be on credit for 2 yrs. She didnt seem apologetic nor surprised. She didnt even try to understand. I will post her name once I find my receipt so you will not be bamboozled, too!! No one gave a rat's a$$. read more

I'm giving 3 stars because I love all home goods. I had to take off 2 stars because I couldn't find what I needed. The towels did not al have the matching washcloth and that is annoying. There was a lady who helped me, but she kept telling me to go back and look. Kept looking in the same exact spot. I spent way too long in there trying to match towels. The items are not priced well in my opinion, but hey..,I don't think they promise to give great prices. read more

This is a great Homegoods store with a huge selection of items. Toys, kitchen wares, distinct home decor, furniture, and more. Better overall selection than the Bailey's Crossroads Homegoods by far. Maybe because this store is bigger and there is more room to showcase some especially unique items, instead of the same rotation of plates and pillows at other Homegoods. The store is well maintained and shoppers and staff were respecting social distancing during my visit in the spring of 2021. The store is located in the Potomac Yard shopping area outside of the Crystal City neighborhood. It feels big and suburban despite being sandwiched between busy Alexandria and Arlington. It's also fairly convenient from National Harbor and parts of Maryland. The shopping center also has a Target, Michaels, Best Buy, and several other stores. read more

If you want more affordable home goods (or really anything), head to HomeGoods in Potomac Yards. It's in a massive complex with many other stores including a Target, Staples, Michael's, Best Buy and other shops. Because of that, there are multiple fast casual restaurants nearby like Cava and a massive parking lot with plenty of space. This HomeGoods is large with sections for home goods, travel items, dishware, etc. As my wife shops, my toddler and I head to the kids section. They have a surprisingly good section of toys for all kinds of kids. It keeps my toddler entertained for a long time. There's usually a line at check out, but it moves fast! read more

Home Goods has wonderful furniture, nice bedding and a variety of decorative items for your home. I like starting at the clearance section in the back and working my way to the front of the store. The cashier knocked over a decorative vase I was going to buy. It was disappointing since it was in perfect condition until it was accidentally cracked at the register. The manager would only take $2 off of the item so I didn't get it. There weren't many employees in the store. read more

I can see the "OMG" in HomeGoods! It should be HomeGoods International. When I'm shopping there, I'm literally exploring, discovering, and buying items made from other countries - rare and unique finds. You never see the same thing week after week, which makes it just as hard to not buy something else; as if you need it! Everything I've purchased I absolutely adore and it completes the decor in my home, wether it's candles, pillows, sheets, a table (like the pic below) etc., it completes the look. Maybe they should rename it "Thank Goodness HomeGoods" ; I really don't think anyone would object. read more

I gave this store three stars bc of the excellent staff. Unfortunately, their merchandise isn't up to par. I just bought this bowl ( one of four) not even a month ago and only used it three times. It is already chipped. I called the help line and they can only help you if you have your receipt. They said the store won't know their own stock-which I find odd for a retailer. I will try the store customer service but this is the third item this year that broke or didn't work. Very disappointed in Home Goods. I shopped there since the early 2000s. read more

Here is what I swear by Homegoods for: 1. Photo frames I swear to the lord. These are the best prices on great looking photo frames that you can get. I mean... oh my lord. Like if you're framing a standard size photo ( 4X6, 5X7, 8X10, or even a 16X20), they have amazing frames here for just pennies on the dollar of what you'll pay other places. 2. Fake plants I swear to the lord. I was shopping around for fake plants just for some filler on the patio. The selection and prices on these are outstanding. I had literally just come from Pottery Barn where I bought I believe one fake plant for 30 dollars. And granted, it a good high quality fake plant. I'll tell you, I went to Homegoods and got like 4-5 more fake plants all for like 30 bucks. I S you not. 3. Planter Pots I swear to the lord. I got such a huge, beautiful planter pot at Homegoods for 12 dollars. I swear to you, anyone would look at this planter pot and be like: 35 bucks? EASY. But 12 dollars! Like shut the front dingo. I couldn't believe it. I literally told the cashier. She was like... I actually work here part time, and my other job is at a garden store. We would charge 40 dollars for this pot. She was actually REALLY amazing and funny. I remember saying to her: "Ya know, you're really funny" And she was like...: "Don't tell anyone, you'll ruin my reputation." Hahahaha. We were definitely gabbing for a hot minute. But she was just so friendly and welcoming and jokey. I just wanted to stay and chat with her tbh. The store offers a fantastic variety of items, and the staff is very helpful. You can always discover something new since they have a little bit of everything. The plaza also has plenty of other shops to explore, and the store itself is clean. The only drawback is that there often seems to be a long checkout line, which is why I deducted a star. read more

This Home Goods has some of THE NICEST ladies working at the register it makes me wonder just where they find them (and I hope they do not leave)! I recently made a large furniture purchase at this location & the manager Sam was wonderful. He was very patient while I was trying to make my decision. All of the staff was very friendly & helpful during pickup. They offer delivery through a third party company. Although they were pricey, they were very easy to deal with. Great when you buy something-Rude and unethical when you return. I bought an item (toy) and the next day I returned it- with the receipt. There was no sticker but I assured her it was on the receipt and showed her the item. She decided to put another cheaper toy to refund me. So unethical - I told her you are charging me the cheaper toy and it's not the one I bought. The odd and unethical part- she wasn't even trying to tell me the incorrect amount AND AND she kept misquoting my item - as if I am blind or something. dear Meka please learn some customer service skills and please don't take personally and be rude when customers return items. This is one of the best Homegoods in the Alexandria area. I have been living in the area for more than 5 years and always find myself gravitating towards this store. First, it is always so well decorated and organized. All the kitchen decor is placed together, all the living room furniture is placed together, etc. Other Homegoods are dirty and unorganized. Second, this store gets new stock almost every week (and it goes fast!) but if you come on a Thursday you'll hit the jack pot, I'm talking couches, console tables, fire pits, etc. And lastly, but most importantly one of the managers, Mr. Sam Mendes us absolutely amazing! Best customer service I have ever experienced at Homegoods. He will discount items if they're damaged and is always fair with his pricing. He is a great leader and always has a smile on his face. On one occasion, I was leaving the store around 7 pm and found that a nearby car in the parking lot had left their trunk wide open with no driver to be found. Their trunk was full of Homegoods bags so I went inside to see if someone could call security and the manager, Sam, stood by the car until security came just to make sure their belongings were safe. All in all, this store is fantastic and as much as I hate to put it out there for others to see, I feel like it's time to give this store the medals it deserves! read more
