When my laptop wouldn't get past the initial splash screen, I was pretty bummed. I use my laptop for work every day. I looked up computer repair shops that were close by, had good reviews and was open. I found this place and headed over. The bookkeeper got me all checked in. She was friendly. She said if I hadn't heard anything by the next morning to call. So in the morning I called and left a message, just checking in. Todd called me back within an hour and said hed be looking at my laptop and hed get back to me soon. By mid-day my laptop was fixed, back to normal and I was back in business. Although I think my problem was minor they handled it professionally, quickly, efficiently, but more important, they handled it friendly. Awesome shop! The left hinge of my laptop was falling apart, and I went to GeekSquad to fix it, but they said I'd be better off buying a new computer. But my computer was still a super-fast operating laptop, just needing a skeleton repair. So after some research (and Yelp reviews!), I landed on The Computer Guys. I came in on a Tuesday and Todd (super friendly, very patient, incredibly helpful) told me I would need new covers (top and bottom) and gave me an estimate. Later as we talked, he found cheaper options for the same parts, and actually saved me money! Since he had to buy the parts, I would have to come in later when the parts arrived (two days later). But before I left, Todd let me decide how to do the payments, so I decided to pay for the parts right then, and then pay for the labor when the job was done. On Thursday, I called the morning of to confirm they got the parts, which they did and told me to come in anytime. I dropped off the laptop later, and within four hours, the laptop was ready. The installed parts were great, and the computer still operates well. Price of the parts wasn't really their call, but labor was more than fair for how fast they were. I'm not a price expert on these type of things, but as a graduate student, the price seemed fair to me. Great service, fast work, and friendly people. Highly recommend this place. Little shop with big knowledge of PC's. Dell is their speciality and I ended up buying a lower-end NEW Dell machine with SSD 1 TB when my HP Elite started to glitch on me. I do miss my old PC for its speed and RAM to get video projects done speedily, but my new Dell is small and quiet! Love that small-footprint. Just picked up my laptop and it works like new. I thought I broke my screen and requested a lcd replacement. A couple hours after I dropped my laptop off, they called me and informed me that the screen was not the problem and the fix was hundreds of dollars less. They are honest people and get the job done. Their price to replace a Mac Pro screen was lower than other places I had checked in Orange County. I will be going to them for any problems with my laptop from now on. read more

Todd and Ed saved the day! No Covid-19 will stop them. My husband found these guys by chance. I have always used Geek Squad, but they were shut down for the virus. Not these guys. Not only are they genuine and kind, but they confirmed my hard drive was damaged, and didn't stop until I was sure I had all my files. I don't know if it just individuals who are super into computers never develop the people skills needed to communicate with the rest of the world or what but i don't have too much good to say about these guys. I walk in two computer clowns working and one older lady probably a clown wife, i say high i needed to get my laptop looked at and she tell me "oh well we are getting ready to go to lunch so......" I say "soooooo" then clown was ask what is going on saving me from getting turned away by the "office assistant". I tell clown 1 my problem about my broken screen as clown 1 is listening clown 2 says well lets see what we have i take it the laptop and fire it up and clown 1 in a total dick tone says to me "well i can fix it now! god". i look at him with huge eyes and a blank stare. Meanwhile there is some other simple type buffoon (not sure what he does there) walking around me interrupting the clowns and my self to make the "are we gonna do the ten pound sledge test on this one" he continues to repeat this joke until i look at him and acknowledge him with a laugh. at this point clown 2 tells me yeah i can do it in 7 days with a price i remember being reasonable. as i am leaving i say "hey guys my the cord for my laptop is in the bag the battery is" then i am cut off by clown 1 "well yeah we need the cord how do you expect us to work on it" .......are you kidding me this guy needs to be slapped. 7 days go by no call. day 9 i call. lucky me, clown 1 with all of those great people skills picks up the phone. after approx. 4 minutes of confusion he says yeah the laptop is done come down. I come down there and again clown 1 and 2 and the simpleton are in there. simpleton is back up to his old ten pound sledge routine again and after another 4 minutes of confusion they find my laptop...... no bag.... no power adaptor that i dropped off with it. I said hey guys i am missing a bag and a cord both of them seemed like they expected the other one to go find my stuff. I think clown 2 lost the silent war and had to go look for my stuff. After a few minutes the items were found, i left with my bag and my cord and a brand new scratch across the top of my laptop. read more

I had a broken laptop I sent to Best Buy for repairs (obviously a misguided decision in retrospect) and was given an incredibly high estimate, a shipping time of 3 weeks, and a 30 dollar cover charge to get it looked at all in service of having them send it back with the message that they couldn't repair it at all. I immediately then took it to The Computer Guys who repaired it in a small fraction of the time and cost. I now seek them for all my computer needs. They have an incredibly informed staff, great business ethics, and often will preform the repairs in a very quick amount of time. The Computer Guys are still the only place I go for all my computer needs. I recently took my tablet in for a screen repair. This tablet was originally purchased for me from the Computer Guys as a gift. The Computer Guys quoted me that same day after I dropped it off on my way to work. As soon as I ok'd the repair, it was ready for pick-up within a few days. Additionally, anytime I have any small problem with either of the laptops I bought from them in 2011/2012. they have fixed quickly and for little/no cost depending on parts and the amount of labor needed for the fixes. I have never had ANY problems with any of the people who work here. They have all treated me with the utmost respect, have been helpful, kind and courteous while also explaining any items I have concerns about. I have recommended them time and again and have always had people tell me how great they were. Contrary to other (poorly written) reviews these men are honest and hardworking. Just got my computer back from these guys after the screen got broken. They had to order another screen, which they told me would take roughly a week to get (not their fault, obviously - that's what happens when you have to order a part) and they said it would be anywhere from $80 to $150 for the screen, plus $60 for the repair. The screen ended up being $79.99, and it doesn't seem like they charged me much, if anything, over what they paid for it, because I sure couldn't find a screen myself for cheaper than that.
