During our Seattle vacation we decided to drive outside the city and see what the mountain views were like. Along the drive, we stumbled upon this little gem. This restaurant is right next to a ski life, ski museum and Dru Bru's (another patron told me they are possibly all owned by the same company). We decided to get an afternoon snack here and sit inside for a few. They have family style seating as well as a counter that goes along the window where you can look out. They also have a patio outside with picnic tables and you can bring your pet. The menu is a one pager - we ordered a cup of beefalo chili (yes that is beef and buffalo meat mixed together) and it was really good. Hubby was most impressed with the spinach artichoke appetizer - it was all fresh - fresh artichoke, spinach and shaved Parmesan. It melted together as we stirred it. I definitely recommend both items. Overall our server was friendly and helpful. One weird thing that happened is our server was helpful others for a few, so I asked another server if we could have some butter (fro the cornbread). It seemed to be complicated and a big deal. He then asked another server, who went to the food pickup area, but then came back out and went and told my server. Let me start off by saying I am really happy this place is open and they did a great job of warm outdoor seating! The staff was really nice and I actually really enjoyed myself. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because it would be nice to see more healthy veggie options on the menu. There were a few, but not a ton of choices. I shared the entree macaroni and cheese and the pretzel with my partner. I'm reasonably health conscious, so this is not my usual. We stopped here on our way to Snoqualmie falls because of its high rating on google. Do not come here for the food alone. When we checked out the menu we noticed bulgogi beef as a special. They were out when we arrived about 5:30. When I ordered apple crisp to go with my bowl of chili, I was told they were also out of crisp. (This turned out to be the waitress's error and I ended up with the last serving of crisp.) The chili was unremarkable. Thick, heavier on meat than beans or tomatoes, topped with an inoffensive cheddar. The apple crisp was tasty but served in a tiny 'cute' cast iron vessel that overflowed the second I dug my spoon in. I tried some of my family's kettle chips and I believe someone forgot to salt them. Pleasant crunch at least. It wasn't terribly busy but we received just one water refill (these came in the form of two large glass bottles) and a request for sour cream required another server's intervention to get it to our table. The view is something the restaurant's website boasts about but the windows were dirty, definitely detracting from it. My family reported the women's restroom was in very poor shape. Overall a disappointing experience, especially from a place so highly rated. Maybe if you're there to drink it's a different story. read more

My fiancé, friend, and I had just finished up boarding and skiing at the summit and decided to grab some food here. My fiancé and I had been to Dru Bru which is next door and liked the beers here so wanted to try the food. It's convenient because it's one of very few spots that are within a 10 minute drive of the summit, so it's nice in that regard after a long day on the mountain. Overall, I think it was just average. I got the fried chicken sandwich which to me wasn't amazing by any means but solid enough. Not bad but not one to remember. The chicken was cooked and breaded but I didn't felt like the chicken wasn't very big and was a lot of breading in proportion to chicken. It also came with potato wedges and potato wedges were solid, but again nothing to remember. It was seasoned and came with an aioli that was good with the fries. I also got the Hefeweizen beer from Dru Bru which was good and I really liked. I would probably come back because it's so convenient when coming to the mountain but overall, it's not something I'd go out of my way to come back too. read more

A must go at the pass! The 906 burger is my favorite but you can't go wrong with anything there!

I have a "bone" to pick with The Commonwealth. Our server was AMAZING; however, we ordered the cheese curds, and one of the members in our party chomped down on a bone in the cheese curd. In cheese curds! Let's do the math... we will call this cheese curds math. Cheese comes from well, nothing with a bone. The breading comes from, well, nothing with a bone. Why was there a bone in our cheese curds??? Last I checked we were at The Commonwealth, NOT The Boneyard! Yes, another batch was made, and she felt awful, but why did we pay for our curds?? She did not throw us a "bone". It's a lucky thing that no teeth aka bones...were chipped or broken, and the only thing that was really injured was the bleeding gums from the scraping of the bone. The one thing that should have happened is free curds. Other than that, what an amazing server, what a great atmosphere, the food rocks, and the location is prime! P.S. We could be petty and take this to the next level, luckily the people in our party are not worried about anything beyond a great evening, so we won't "bone" you in court! read more

What a wonderful addition to the pass. It would be great to have more options than salads and sandwiches, but both are really good here and it's the closest you will find a vegetable in 20 miles. Wasn't entirely impressed with the take out process. I had the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with tomato soup, and the tomato soup tasted like it definitely came out of a can. As a party of 5 (receipt said party of 13) for take out, we were charged 18% gratuity (for what??) and $0.50 for each take out meal (total of $2.50). Great spot for a drink and bites after an adventurous day. Love the style of this place, indoor/outdoor seating (perfect for those who adventure with pups), a fireplace inside, family style seating, and plenty of parking. A sweet couple slid along one of the longer tables to accommodate our group of 5 (so nice of them) and we were brought menus immediately. After a 9 mile hike in the cold and snow, I was hungry. So naturally, I ordered a burger - the 905 burger cooked medium with a side of potato wedges. The burger came out in good time, but what caught my eye were the potatoes. They weren't the fat wedges that have an off balance ratio of too much potato to crispy skin, they were smaller wedges fried to a crisp so you weren't just eating plain potato...if that makes sense. Anyways, I really dug the wedges much more than I thought I would. The burger was juicy and cooked medium as I had ordered. Can't say it was the best burger I've had, but it reallllly hit the spot. The beer was tasty and cold. The service was fast and friendly. My pulled pork tacos stood to learn something from Mexico. The salsa was great - some sort of salsa verde. The toppings of onions, cotija cheese, and cilantro were spot on. Sadly the main parts of the tacos lacked. The tortillas were clearly not fresh and were reheated in a way that made them delaminate and kind of fall apart. A good corn tortilla for a taco is fresh and heated on a comal (griddle) in a bit of greasy sauce to become pliable and contribute to the taco's overall experience. When I saw that the pork was nicely pulled apart and red in color, I expected much more. It was way under-seasoned and tasted of little but pork. Where was the chili punch and a bit of fat and salt to make it tasty? Missing. I've had far better at many a taco truck and in Mexico. read more

We drove to the pass just for something to do, see the snow and walk around. We decided to stop in the The Commonwealth for some dinner. We were seated at a comfortable bar height table. Our waitperson came by quickly to take drink orders. I had a Grey Goose Martini, dry which was well done. Hubby had a beer which he liked as well. We ordered an appetizer of the fries and they were superb. Real, fresh cut potatoes. Cooked to perfection and served with a wonderful sauce. This was very filling but we ordered dinner anyway. I had a chicken sandwich with the same fries and he had a cheeseburger. Both dishes were really good and cooked to our specifications. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere. Service was good and we were checked on throughout dinner. Endless supply of water as they bring a carafe to the table. Great place. We will go back again for sure. read more

OK guys, we were on our way to the lake when all of a sudden the rain hit and we decided we are feeling a little bit hungry. Next thing you know, we are rounding the corner and spotted this cute little restaurant. We pulled off and we're pleasantly surprised at the fun ambience and really enjoyed the food! Went here with some friends after a long day of hiking. They have a very nice outdoor patio area. The staff was very attentive and nice. I got the Fish Tacos $14.50 on flour tortillas which came with 3. These were very tasty tacos. Perfectly crunchy fish with a light batter. The chipotle aioli, pico and cabbage all worked well together. The pico was a little runny so make sure you have napkins handy. I did try a bite of a 906 burger as well which was also pretty good. Perfect spot across the inn we were staying at to have a nice early dinner. Due to covid they do take out and outdoor dining. If you order to go, you're allowed to sit anywhere outside in that area near the brewery to eat. Tables in their patio side is limited and I suggest you get there early enough to get a table with the fire before the dinner rush comes. We went at 430 and had no problem finding seating. Prices for food is fairly reasonable for what you get. We had Caesar salad, Buffalo wings, cheeseburger and chicken and rice soup to share. I asked for Caesar dressing on side but it came tossed in already but since it was light we were fine with it. Buffalo wing sauce was too heavy for my liking but with the salad balanced it out. Cheeseburger was great and family raves about the garlic aioli. Kids enjoyed their tomato soup and grilled cheese. We tried a sample Of the chili but didn't order because it was too spicy for the family. My favorite was the apple crisp for dessert! All service was efficient and friendly and the relaxed vibe made this an enjoyable covid dining experience. I recommend coming here if you're in the area. I stopped here once on a weekend and real busy. Didnt want to wait so I headed on. This time I'm just passing through on the way home during the week and stopped for lunch about 1. At the door I'm told "go sit at the bar" Ok, that's fine and where I usually head anyway. So I sit at an empty bar area table that seats 4. There's a couple other empty tables in the bar area also empty that seat 4. Same server comes up and and says no I meant " belly up to the bar" . Wtf. Ok so I move to the bar but it just didnt sit right. I can see saving tables for bigger groups when you plan to be busy. But in the time I was there it didnt get busy and the tables wher never filled. My first reaction usually is fuck this and leave but I was kinda hungry so I "bellied up to the bar" and had a beer and some ok chili. The server was the larger blonde woman. Apparently, knows phrase "belly up to the bar" but never heard " a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush". Maybe the big blonde owns the place, she acted like she did. Kind of a passive aggressive rudeness demeanor. So take care of the people who come in before you worry about the people who might but instead just pass by. Like I will next time. Except for a beer next door at Dru Bru. Commonwealth name sounds like a community friendly happy place. But apparently they're more about filling up empty tables to make more sales than actually caring about being authentic and good friendly service. read more

We adore this spot! It's always a favorite of ours to stop here on our way over the pass. Delicious warm food and such a chill environment, with excellent beer options too! We came over the weekend when they were dealing with outdoor-dining-only restrictions and only had two outdoor tables with fires to offer. They did their best to get us in the warm fire tables quickly, as we had our 3 young kids with us. When the groups at those tables lingered extra long, they offered us the option to have takeout and enjoy it at the outdoor heated tables next door at Dru Bru. They even gave us some hot cocoas for the kiddos. Felt like they were trying super hard to care for their customers in the midst of difficult times for them. We appreciate it! read more
