This is probably my husband's and my favorite spot in Atlanta. You can't beat the views and the food and drinks are great too. Our biggest complaint though is the inconsistency and length of the hours. I believe, as of now, they close at 5:30p. We used to enjoy hiking and then going there for drinks and dinner which is no longer an option.

As one of the only restaurants on property, this place has to hold a heavy burden. That burden is well carried here! The onion rings are spectacular, and when I asked "How is the coleslaw?" Grace responded, "Honey, there ain't nothing to that stuff, get the onion rings." She was right! Those Onion rings were TOP NOTCH! I personally had the Commons Double-Stack Turkey, (great, the meat was delicious and the bacon cooked perfectly, with texas-toast and fresh lettuce and tomatoes.) and I had the salmon BLT, the fish was delicious and paired well with the Garlic Aioli. The setting is beautiful and overlooking the lake at Stone Mountain cannot be beat! The staff is kind and the service is impeccible. I'm just sad that this park is falling into obscurity, more people used to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding area, and now it seems like most of the traffic is just for golf.

Located inside Stone Mountain near the golf course, you need a $20 day pass or $40 annual pass to eat here. We have the annual pass so it was worth it! A great place to stop after hiking up the mountain. The food was very good, the fries being the best fries I have had in my life. I was told that the chef dubbed the "flavor god" made it. Overall, the pricing was appropriate as well. The music playing in the background were classics and the restaurant was very clean. Most notably, our waitress was the BEST! She was the highlight of the visit. Tangela was so attentive during the entire time and made us really feel at home! She had a positive attitude and made sure to give us the best visit possible. Highly recommend because of her!

Everyone was so nice here at the Commons Restaurant. The gentleman who seated us was very friendly. Gloria was our server. She took amazing care of us!! She was so kind and personable. I found out we are both from California originally. It's always nice meeting someone from your home state. We ordered the small salads and a side of fries. The salads were very big for a small salad , great portion size.

I made a reservation two months prior and I was not accommodated per my reservation requests at all. We reserved for 5 PM and we're not seated until roughly 5:45 PM. The waitresses Gloria and Alva were sweet as can be but they were slow. We had a party of 23, which I know is big but again, they had two months to prepare. The steak was dry, the veggies were undercooked and under seasoned. The salmon was dry and the mashed potatoes that came with my meal did not come until roughly 30 minutes after. The drinks were watered down and overall it wasn't the best experience for it to be a first time.

So happy we treated ourselves to a superb dinner. Both of us had the prime rib 10 oz. I had the grits. They were flavorful and great texture. The asparagus was large stems but they were cooked perfectly. My friend had Mac n cheese which said were good. The fingerling potatoes were well seasoned. They have a carmelized onion jam that is absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent. There were only a few dinners present when we dined.

We went last night for the Valentine's Dinner! We had a wonderful time. DeMarco was the kindest waiter, we sat by the fireplace and enjoyed our meal. The scallop appetizer was decadent. The Caesar salad was delicious. I had the steak and my husband the salmon. Our Valentine's desserts were both perfect! Can't wait to return for the Easter Buffet.

Very slow service! It took 55 minutes for our food to come out. Only 5 other tables were there before us.

One…read moreof the best farm to table eateries ive had the pleasure of eating a "Stone Mountain Village Gem" I walked up to this amazing eaterie sitting on the corner across from the theatre. Fresh grown gardens surround the eatery where you can witness where your veggies are coming from :) Absolutely organic and the flavor says it all. I entered and the cozy old school music playing faintly in the background made me feel at home in "Ma Mas" kitchen and the place was OCD clean. Staff of older experts warmly greeted me which one turned out to be "Chef K" herself from the food network #Surprised me :) We went over the well prepared Menu as the place filled instantly as I sat down. I was finally a happy camper in "Stone Mountain Village" food scene I had the fried green tomatoes and Salmon Crockets Made from scratch (OMG) NO canned salmon either culinary prepared from whole salmon Those flavors fermented in my mouth and I was a happy camper ate good Great to be totally be pleased with spending your money for great food prepared with LOVE! HANDS DOWN !! Sweet Potato Cafe in Stone Mountain is your best choice

There were 8 of us; 4 adults, 4 children (it's a small place and we wouldn't fit well inside, knowing this I asked to be outside.) About 6 minutes later the waitress came out and said they were closing the kitchen and we would have to find somewhere else to go. I'm a little confused about their hours of operation and when they serve food or not. Looks like a really quaint, lovely place, we are from out of town and would have loved to try it. Today, after reading some Google Reviews it is apparent that other customers have complained about this restaurant's treatment of families with children in the past. This makes me sad. Our children are well behaved and dine out often. Anyway, because we were turned away we took our 8 top to Cherokee Rose and dropped $400 plus tip. That money would have gone to Sweet Potato Cafe.

It was all so good! I also brought home a banana pudding for my son as she said it was her favorite and both son and I love banana pudding. I had 1/2 of my husband's blackberry cobbler with ice cream which was a huge serving that definitely to be shared. My husband enjoyed his chicken pot pie, sweet potato soufflé and broccoli casserole. I like how the restaurant got a perfect score on their inspection report, something to be proud of! Food was out in a jiffy and it was not crowded on a Thursday at 5:30 pm so we got a parking spot out front, but front lot was full by the time we left. Our server filled my husband's drink at least twice and brought me a second lemonade and even offered me one to go. The restaurant has very subtle signage, so easy to overlook this gem if you do not know about it! Come hungry!
