She is worth every penny -- never had anyone else cut my hair since moving to Chicago and probably never will until the day she retires As someone with naturally curly and lightened (that part not naturally, sadly) hair, finding a fantastic stylist that can do both isn't easy. With Elizabeth, I have always left so happy with what she's done and am grateful to have someone I can trust completely to do an amazing time every time. I requested a color and cut appointment with Elizabeth and after Elizabeth initially confirmed they could work with me on the color stating that they "ABSOLUTELY works with resistant gray" later proceeded to ignore my requests and then I received a long text message saying that THEY do NOT work with resistant gray hair and would not be a "good MATCH for for me." Elizabeth hadn't seen my hair in person or in pictures and refused to work with me because they stated that it wouldn't be "a good fit" very confusing messages and was not even able to even get an in person consultation! To add, it took over a week for a response and after my last attempt to schedule a simple haircut/trim, I was declined for the reason of "not a good fit" I would like to talk to the owner/manager about this issue as I appald by this response. Also "color correction" was assumed and stated in the text response - stylist never saw my hair in person or viewed photos. How can that assumption be made ? Also, I (as many women are) willing to invest the time to try out different stylists /engage in consultations until the right fit is found- the statement of "wasting my time with a consultation" is absurd. In addition, and I quote from Elizabeth's first text " Yes, I ABSOLUTELY work with clients who have resistant gray, and I'd be happy to help you with your root touch-up. " How would then their comfort/expertise level with resistant gray CHANGE after a follow up text message? I question the reasons for why my request for a consult/trim was denied. I found this stylist and salon very unprofessional. read more

Elizabeth is so amazing!!! I've seen her for 4 years now for highlights, balayage and cuts, and as a very VERY picky blonde, I am so happy I found her. I had wanted to slowly return from being a little too bleached out to my natural dark blonde, and she did a magic "reverse balayage" on me (didn't know that was a thing!!) and my hair great out sooo nicely. She listens to what I want but helps keep it real on what my goals are and how to realistically get there. She educated me on what would work and what color my balayage would turn out like. I had a balayage previously done from over a year ago and didn't want a drastic color change and more of a subtle balayage look with my already dark brown hair. She was super understanding and so fun and easy to talk to! I loved how she also cut and layered my hair and she did a great job being thoughtful with how much hair I wanted cut off. I stumbled upon this salon during my search for someone who could revive my very damaged thick dark hair after a bad hair color job. I'm so glad I found them!! I came to Matt with a very grown out, damaged, and badly bleached balayage. I wanted to do a complete 180 and transform to a cool, all-over brunette.
