We loved Dr. Hubbel and were his patients for years. He was gentle, funny, and always tried to take the more conservative route. We were not notified when he retired. We decided to give the new dentist a try. She is very nice, but I'm not confident in her dental skills. I had an old filling that was in bad shape, and needed a new one. She did the work on a Thursday, and Sunday afternoon, I felt a big hole in my tooth. The filling had fallen out. I've never had that happen before. I went back Monday, and they had to numb me again (several shots) and do a bunch of drilling again before putting the filling back in. My husband was also a patient of this practice. Dr. Kim told him that he was going to need an implant (which neither Dr. Hubbel or his endodontist never mentioned). My sister was also told that she would need an implant. I overheard her talk about implants with other patients as well. She seems to have a constant sale on implants. Anyway, we've switched dentists. read more

It's always a scary thing when your dentist or other professional retires and sells the practice to someone else. I miss Dr. Hubbel, who was funny as heqq and a great dentist to boot! But now that I've gone in for a cleaning and follow-up care, I can tell you that I trust the new dentist to be thorough, professional, and very good at what she does. Plus, I'm always about supporting female professionals, and Dr. Kim did not disappoint. I didn't feel she was "upselling" me on something I don't need. Front office staff is wonderful, as was always my experience. We'll be staying put unless and until something changes. read more

After a couple of mandatory corona related postponements, I was glad to finally make it in to have my teeth cleaned and get some TLC for my back molar that decided to detach its decades old crown and live without a cap for a while (actually, it was a long while). Dr. Hubble and his staff has always been top notch, in my book. I've been to lots a dentists over years, usually prefering a car wreck over dental work. Not so, with Dr. Hubble. His work is excellent. He does state of the art crowns in just one day. Sooo much better than having to sit through making a molding of your teeth with a big blob of nasty road tar, then wearing a temporary aluminum cap for a week while waiting for a lab to make the permanent one. I swear those things would pick up broadcasts of The Lone Ranger! His prices are really reasonable, too. Anyway, the cleaning went pretty well. No cavities! But, had to wait until the end to hear that there wouldn't be any polishing because that causes too many tiny airborne droplets. Unfortunately, it was time for that back molar to vacate the premises. The procedure was pretty quick and was painless. Dr. Hubble explained that a clot would form in the hole that had been home to Mr. Tooth (sorry if this is TMI) and that I really needed to be sure to keep it in the hole. If anything happened to it, I should let him know and we would "take it from there". When I got home, of course, I went to the world wide web to learn more about the tragic consequences of losing your clot. As you might have guessed, my due diligence was not good enough. I called to report this new development and was told that its no big deal. It happens to thousands of people every day, all over the world. So, I pulled up my big boy pants and "took it from there". LOL! Happy ending, it all turned out alright. Can't wait to come back and see you again, Dr. Hubble! read more

Dr. Hubbel was wonderful, he however retired and sold the practice. Patients were never notified, Dr. Sohee Kim decided to let patients know in person (basically she wanted one more appointment $$), hygienists were also new without prior notice. Definitely a different practice. No notice at check-in regarding new dentist, they did however start upselling right away. We went ahead and had our teeth cleaned and decided to give her a chance. My husband's crown, less than a year old cracked. We assumed she would honor the prior practice's work. Sure.... she said she would fix the crown, but not until we put on a separate new crown and fixed another issue, a $450 mouth guard. Estimated total of $ 3300.00. She never fixed the cracked crown. This practice is now ALL about the money and not about the work. read more

His staff is friendly & always welcoming & will answer any questions you have. He takes lots of insurance plans, (I don't have any at the moment) & his rates are reasonable. Finally found my forever dentist! If you are hesitant or unsettled by a dentist visit, you have to meet Dr. Hubbell. He immediately makes you feel at home with his humor and kindness. By the time you leave, you will feel like you've known him forever. It's hard to find a dentist these days who is both honest and full of integrity. Dr. Hubbell has both. He took his time working through my case and taking extra care in getting all the details and information from the previous work I have had done. I knew going in that the work I needed was extensive. I've had implants for over 15 years are they are beginning to fail. I also knew I would need them removed and replaced. This is no small task! Dr. Hubbell was able to help me come up with an plan I could work with and treatment that would help my future dental health. I've traveled all over for dental work, including going out of the country for dental implants. But I can safely say now, I will no longer travel further than The Colony Dentist. I couldn't be more pleased than I am with Dr. Hubbell and his ability to honestly make me feel like my problem was finally going to be fixed. BEWARE: When you first walk into the office of this "BULLSHITTER" and Con-Artist you will see a wall full of Certificates, just this alone will tell you that he's trying to prove something beyond his reach of dentistry! They tell you their "CONSULTATION IS FREE" if you bring your own X-rays , but when you get there they "STILL" take X-rays so they can have an excuse of charging you a minimum of $85.00 .. I went to The Colony Dentist (Dr Hubbell) for an exam of 2 teeth that I need fixed and after his "CONSULTATION He claims every tooth in my mouth needs some type of re-construction and that EVERY TOOTH in my mouth HAS A CAVITY.. Several hours later I get an email from his office stating that my "TREATMENT PLAN" will cost me a WOPPING (Are you sitting down?) $40,750.00. I say BEWARE because this Dentistry Office has a 3D CNC Crown Maker Which costs close to 1 million dollars and they will CON you and Use Scare Tactics to do anything possible to make you believe You NEED A Crown Or Two! In my "TREATMENT PLAN" there where 11 Crowns and 3 IMPLANTS.. And Just to let everyone know His Implant Price's are TRIPLE the cost of any Specialist out there! If you are reading this and can understand whats going on here then your not a dumbass -- I strongly and forcefully suggest that you not just stay away from this guy but RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN to GET AS FAR AWAY From This Place As Possible! I would also like to say that my wife is a professional in the field of Dentistry and with over 16 years of experience she has NEVER Seen anything so absurd or OUTRAGEOUS As this QUACK DENTIST in her life! My whole family loves him (even my 5 year old is excited to get his teeth cleaned and to see Dr. Dave!) and we recommend him to everyone we know. Dr. Hubbell is a great dentist. To illustrate how good he is, here is an anecdote from my very first visit. After examining the X-rays, he noticed what appeared to be cotton beneath one of my crowns. This was a crown that came off years back and my prior dentist had a very difficult time re-attaching. Off comes the crown and, sure enough, there is a very nasty piece of cotton gauze underneath. I was duly impressed. I like that Dr. Hubbell has the latest in 3D CAD/CAM technology and can design crowns while sitting by the exam chair, ensuring it will fit properly. A CNC machine creates the crown within 15 minutes. No more coming back two weeks later and _hoping_ the crown fits with no issues. The rest of the staff are polite and professional and make almost any visit for exams or treatment as pleasant as could be reasonably expected. read more

The best dentist! I do not like going to the dentist, because I am a big baby! All the procedures I have had were absolutely pain free. Daughter had 6 cavities filled not a tear or even Tylenol needed. My son had half of a molar missing and Dr. Dave used his high techy tools made a new half tooth! For cleanings, they're wonderful. Very clean and modern office. Front staff is super friendly and professional. I originally planned on giving 5 stars but recently had an incident after getting my fillings. I originally made a separate appt to see dentist for pain under an old crown. He said it was just my bite that was off and filed it down. Pain persisted and I went back. He filed the left side that he did fillings on and filed my problem crown again. After the attitude from the hygienist, and him more concerned with a trip to Colorado, I just decided to see another dentist my insurance recommended. I ended up having an infection (that's why I had pain under the crown) and I see oral surgeon today to discuss extraction. Imagine if I had waited until this dentist returned from his trip! So disappointed because I refer all the time to him and liked the first hygienist I got. The last one didn't even bother taking the bib off and was not gentle. That suction contraption was jabbed in my mouth and even put it outside my lip. They lost a patient. My fiancé won't go back either. read more

I was referred by my Girlfriend to Dr HUBBELL, she had taken her daughter there and had good things to say about him. I was told by my usualDentist that I needed a Root Canal and she could not help me. When I went in for my appointment with Dr HUBBELL I was greeted by his very kind assistant PAIGE. She took X-rays, checked vitals and got me set up for the supposed Root Canal. Once they looked at the X-rays I was told there was no need for a root canal. They drilled, did a composite build up and Fabricated a Crown while I waited. I was there about 90 minutes total. I can't tell you how happy I was not needing the root canal. I am a business owner and am hard to please and expect a lot when it comes to customer service. Starting with PAIGE and continuing with Dr HUBBELL there level of professionalism and courteousness was unmatched by any Dentist I had been to before. I have found a hidden gem of an office in The Colony. I had no pain during the procedure or the morning after. I didn't even feel the shot to numb the area. That usually makes your gum sore especially a rear molar. I highly recommend them and will return for a few minor things they found that need addressing that my old Dentist missed when I was there in October. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality care and great customer service with genuine caring service. read more

Dr Hubbell is one of the best dentists in all of DFW. The wall of certificates in the lobby are there for patients to see his outstanding achievements and qualifications respectful to dentistry. This display is a common practice among professional dentists! In response to the negative post about the "FREE Consultation with bringing your X-rays then more X-rays were taken" A dentist cannot diagnose dental decay without high resolution quality X-rays. It's obvious the office that took your X-rays leading you to seek further solutions didn't impress you either..Maybe better next time to get a dentist referral from your wife who was in the dental profession for 16 years. Dr Hubbell has an obligation to inform patients of their dental treatment needs. To NOT do so would be negligence.Even if treatment is extensive and costly..
