I love LIV denistry and staff. I have been with Dr Clark for years and he and staff are wonderful. The staff is great from the time you enter the door till you leave. I recently saw Dr Hassan for a crown and he is also great. He worked hard to make sure I was pleased and my tooth fit right. I had no pain with the crown placement and when I needed to get my permanent crown in before a vacation, he called and had it rushed and placed it asap. My elderly dad was having a tooth ache and was nervous about going to a dentist in this Covid era. Steps were taken to limit people in waiting area. His temperature was taken upon entry into the office, and everyone had face masks. All these and many other steps were taken, and very quickly we were at ease about our decision to come to LIV dentistry. He has limited english, and they had A Spanish speaking technicians do his cleaning. They fixed the tooth, and the crown will be ready for install in two weeks. I've had several procedures done here since the office opened in The Colony a few years ago. The office is beautiful, but the care I've received is even better. The front office staff has always worked with me on complex insurance and billing changes from employment & coverage changes, and the dental assistants are patient and skilled. Dr. Steffens is knowledgeable and his positive nature goes a long way. Dr. Cooke is a great addition to the practice and has been really caring and capable in my treatments, as well. Will not be back at LIV Dentistry. 1 star (from 0 to 5). 1 star and not 0 because the office was fairly clean. Avg (slightly) below dental visit and post-exam patient/billing experience. Set up appointment to see Dr Steffens (when I arrived was forced to see someone else). For the 'dental' exam, the exam lasted less than 5 mins and although billed as 'comprehensive' time spent speaking with dentist over exam was hardly comprehensive and little information provided about review/information on my teeth. Unexpected billing - as a new patient had all my prior x-rays sent to Dr. Steffens and was assured by staff that I would not incur any out of pocket expenses (which I had shared insurance information with the staff to verify). Staff agreed and I was assured no out of pocket expenses for cleaning/visit. Several weeks later, was told that I was responsible for $40 for the visit. Whether it was mis-communication or otherwise, had I been told I would have had out of pocket costs, I would have gone elsewhere. If LIV Dentistry would nickel/dime for $40, what else might the office do to make an extra dollar. Prescribe unnecessary treatment? These are my thoughts and feelings. Perhaps others may have a better experience but I won't be back. read more

I want to start off by saying, if you have any kind of dentist phobia, this is the place to go. Dr. Clark first and foremost, makes sure you are comfortable and that you are at ease. He talks to you through every step and stops if you need to take a breather. His hygienist is also amazing. I had some issues while I was there and she did her very best to make sure that I was ok. The cleaning I got was faster and better quality than any other dentist I have been to. They even corrected damage that a previous dentist did to my husband's teeth a year ago! Pricing is also very reasonable and budget friendly. I love that they dont nickle and dime you for every little thing or try to sell you things you obviously dont need. His staff are very in-tuned with him and they all communicate effectively, so that everyone is on the same page. That's so important to me. I had 3 different people explain to me how to use a medicated mouth wash, just to make sure that they covered it and that I understood. Also important seeing as it had bad side effects if you didnt know how to use it and when. (Stains the crap out of your teeth, and the previous dentist office just sent it home with us, no label and no instructions) I loved the staff, the doctor and my results. I want to start by saying this is one of the best medical (not just dental) practices I've ever been to. I've been to practices where the doctor is great but the staff isn't, and vice versa. This is one of those rare places where the doctor is knowledgeable and friendly; the staff is very organized and courteous; and I get the feeling that they genuinely care about their patients. One time I went in for an IPR for my Invisalign, and since the procedure was very minor, they didn't charge me for that visit. How awesome is that?! And all the procedures I've undergone here, I am very happy with the results. Which is saying something as I am aware that my dental/Invisalign issues aren't the simplest. We were so excited to visit Dr. Steffens and his team at the new office! I went in for my check up and cleaning and the appointment felt more like a trip to the Spa not a trip to the dentist! My favorite thing is the Hot Towel treatment, amazing! I picked the lavender scent. So relaxing! If there were a negative zero for this review, I'd choose lower. I want to first start off by saying the Office Manager Stephanie has always been EXTREEEEEMELY unpleasant to deal with, EXTREMELY! She is VERY unprofessional and lacks common dental office knowledge! She has been nasty rude with customer service, appointment times, & incapable of delivering accurate information pertaining to processing the dental claims, etc! As a Sr. Human Resources Manager in Healthcare, specializing in Benefits and Compensation, I was taken aback when my boss and I had to speak to Stephanie to double team and let her know that her information she was producing was inaccurate. This lit a lightbulb in Stephanie's head, & she eventually called Blue Cross Blue Shields to validate the dental plan. Apparently entering the data in the database was not pulling up accurate billing information, & she had to call to verify. We advised Stephanie multiple times that the benefits plan covered orthodontia and she responded back multiple times advising that it does not. Mind you, I assisted with the benefits package for my organization, so I was well aware of what the plan covers. My boss jumped on the call with me because I just so happened to be at work & was having a mini heart attack because we thought our benefits plan were inaccurate & several employees even staff on our senior leadership team selected this plan. We thought we may need to loop in our benefits broker to get our plans corrected because we KNEW it covered orthodontia. Stephanie's failure to listen & lack of knowledge had us extremely concerned & stressed for no reason at all. After walking her through what to do, she finally confirmed that the night guards were $100. I prepaid for the retainers/night gaurds, & was told they would be shipped to me since the office was closed due to COVID-19. I would not, I repeat NOT have gone into the office had they not misadvised that they were going to be mailed to me during this pandemic. I would have waited for all of the COVID to pass over. COVID-19 is passed through droplets of saliva, definitely not idea to be in the dentist office if you don't need to be! I wait over a month of having no retainers, finally get a call from Stephanie to come in the office to pick them up. This means I am getting out AGAIN in the dental office where there are tons of saliva droplets during COVID which is unsafe, a waste of time & gas. I put the retainers in my mouth, visit with the dentist for proper fitting in which he puts a dirty mirror in my face with the larger magnified glass side of the mirror so close to my face I could not see anything aside from the smut and possible COVID dirt on the mirror. As I am exiting, I am stopped at the front desk by Stephanie & a really nervous staff member telling me I have balance of $200! This is unacceptable! If there were a balance, Stephanie should have confirmed this and updated me before picking them up as she called to confirm the appointment time. Being that we had a wild ride getting her on the correct path on how to do her job I was again taken aback that she didn't have all of this cleared up prior to me picking up these retainers. I was asked to take the retainers out of my mouth at the front desk DURNIG THIS DISGUSTING COVID-19 pandemic. It was BEYOND weird! Stephanie asked me to call the insurance company myself with this smug look on her face as though I am the Liv employee. Are you kidding me? I have referred 3 friends to this office and will NOT recommend this office to another soul, as the service has declined SUBSTANTIALLY. I had to return the night gaurds altogether which is ridiculous, because they would only give me the top half! She tried to save her unprofessional stance by saying the $100 was a quote and not the guaranteed balance. No ma'am, unacceptable being that you had to call to verify this and taken the total from me before placing the order as well as misadvised at all possible capacities. HOOORRIBLE service. I need a set, not just the top half. All I am saying is that you want to look for other options long and very hard before going to LIV for your dental needs, as the service has declined suuubSTANTIALLY and the Office Manager isn't thoroughly trained and is VERY unpleasant and just so happens to be the wife of one of the dentist/owner. LIV had an AMAZING dental assistant at one point (beautiful asian young lady)that quit I believe, and now, sighsss...I have not a clue where to begin with the experience I had with the new young lady cleaning my teeth. The conversations she had with me during the cleaning were unbearable. I was honestly wishing she'd simply be quiet as the topics and questions she had were grating to my nerves. She dropped one of the tools on my face and the tool was hanging from my mouth, it was just awful! Also it was extremely painful getting my teeth cleaned! I've been fearful to attempt finding a new dentist since my transition here in Dallas. First, the office is new, modern and so sleek. My hygienist (Mary) was nothing shy of amazing. Super knowledgeable and patient. Thoroughly explained more dos and dont's of taking care of my teeth. Dr. Steffens was incredible too!
