So awesome! It's like an artist's rendition of a really tacky grandmother's imagination. Flamingos. Clocks that play the Beatles. Historic Photos. Dancing stuffed animals at the table. Tight seating. Self-seating. Singing and dancing trout. Cash only (well not anymore). Home-style cooking. Small. During the winter holidays (or the whole year for all I know), there's a giant snowglobe at the entrance. Diner food, open only for breakfast. Cure for a hang-over, or a cold. Wake up just to make it here on time, before they close at 2PM. Not even my town, yet I love it.. I just wish they hadn't changed the style of home fries. read more

Great food, friendly staff, I'm a regular. Myself and a small group of friends come to the break every Sunday morning for the Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise, Fresh Fruit, Bacon and Corn Bread. Greatest thing about The Coffee Break? They know us very well now, by name. I'll walk in, am greeted and almost immediately seated at a table for 4 even if it's just me at first. Coffee and a Water are standard and they know us so well, sometimes we dont even have to say anything to order. To top it off, they know to split the check however many ways we need! Talk about great service here, some of the friendliest people that I've ever encountered at an eating establishment. It really is hard to say too much bad about this place. If you're looking for a good sit down breakfast place in Clinton, this is the place to go. The staff is friendly, and they have excellent omelettes and nice fluffy pancakes. They also have a kid's menu, and the prices are reasonable. Just make sure to bring cash, since they don't take credit cards. I'm not sure if I understand the owner's obsession with flamingos, but my daughter thought that it was cool. read more

I was camping nearby, and we headed to The Coffee Break for breakfast. With four stars on average, we had high hopes. We waited 30 minutes for french toast and over easy eggs. I don't really mind waiting, except if the actual food itself doesn't really offer anything to get excited about. I had scrambled eggs with my french toast, and the portions were really small. The place itself looks great, and it certainly had potential, but it was an epic letdown when it comes to eating a hearty breakfast that would prepare you for a long day at the beach. Even the bacon seemed to be thin sliced. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're starving, or hope to have a nice base before heading on an adventure in the area. read more

Loved this place! Went twice during my short stay. Liked it better the first time when they made My breakfast sandwich omelet style ... Second time egg was scrambled with slice of cheese not melted. Cute little spot for a quick breakfast. We were on a road trip through the northeast and we found this place on Yelp. So glad we stopped here! Our server was very friendly and the food came out quick! Our stop was around 11am on Thursday, so I can't say anything about the service during the breakfast rush or on a weekend but we were in and out pretty quick! They like flamingoes, haha. Very good breakfast, we ordered French toasts, pancakes, Italian sausage is great. Pancake is huge. Only thing is that we ordered 2 cups of juice, and the cup is so small, its like the size of a coffee cup. And corn beef hash got too much onions in it. But over all, positive experience, loves all the wall decorations. My 2 year old are very occupied with all the pink flamingos and the music clocks, will come again. read more

Cute place with the best diner counter I've seen in a while. Very friendly greeting and server was attentive. Breakfast: lackluster presentation - imagine a relative who is used to making breakfast for two attempting to make breakfast for ten. French toast was probably the blandest I've ever had - bread soaked in scrambled egg. - no cinnamon, no vanilla... Sausage had a view of the grille but may never have made contact with it. But the crowd seemed genuinely happy to be there. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. read more

Breakfast was pretty good, and their home made hash was excellent. I highly recommend it. Service was good, food was brought out hot. My only dissatisfaction came from the fact that while Yelp has them listed as accepting credit cards, they have a sign out front explaining that they are in the process of switching credit card companies, so cash only. They do have an ATM onsite . You will be charged an extra 2.50 to use it. I am of the opinion that if you are advertised as accepting credit cards, and through no fault of the customers were forced to use the ATM, the restaurant should then pay for those fees ,not the customer. At the very least, yelp should change the fact that they accept credit cards to a cash only restaurant. As of May 16, 2016 this restaurant does not accept credit cards. read more

Great little spot right on Boston Post Road in Clinton. Serve breakfast and lunch. excellent prices Plus generous portions of food. Staff is very friendly, helpful and eager to please. There's parking on Boston Post Road and parking lot in the back so you can enter through the front or the back. The decor is simple has some wood / wainscoting dark brown carpet pictures on the walls is you almost at country kitchen type feel. if you want to be in n out its a place to go and if you want to enjoy your breakfast sit and chat they won't rush you out. The food was fine, I liked the corned beef hash and it was so incredibly convenient but I just got so sick of the attitude of some of the staff. Other reviews speak well of the service. Maybe they just didn't like me. I don't know why I always smile and tip well but they seemed like it was really annoying to have to wait on people. I was expecting really good grub, based on the enthusiastic reviews, but I wasn't expecting house-made corned beef hash or the best Reuben I have had in years. Great flavor all around, including waffles, eggs, french fries, and sausage patties with fennel seeds in them, all at a decent price. It was the weekend before Halloween, and everyone was dressed up! Do not go to The Coffee Break unless you have plenty of time to kill. I have never seen breakfast take so long to serve. We ordered three simple breakfasts and I think 15 minutes after we ordered the cook hadn't even started them. It finally had been about 30 minutes after we ordered that the server brought us the food. One of the breakfasts still didn't have toast, it wasn't ready yet! The whole time we were waiting for the cook to cook our meal, there were several servers just standing around - drinking coffee. I don't know why someone couldn't go in the kitchen and help the cook do some prep work - maybe put bread in a toaster. As soon as our server brought our food I told her that we needed to pay the check right away because we were in a hurry. She dropped off the check and then disappears. I had to practically track her down to take my money. This was the worst breakfast experience I have ever had. read more

Trust me, any place that is sporting a plastic pink flamingo decor isn't going to be judging your velour. This place is great. It's not a diner, it's not a Perkins, it's got a laidback, casual vibe all of its own. It's almost as if your grandmother's attic decided to convert itself into a breakfast spot and your grandmother really really liked to collect plastic flamingos. Consistently good for breakfast on a weekend. Even with their popularity, even if there is a crowd the wait is usually not too long. The waitstaff is attentive and quick. I always get eggs/grits/toast/home fries and i have only once gotten lumpy grits. My daughter loves their Caesar salad. You really can't go wrong here. read more

Found this place by accident while shopping at the nearby outlet stores. Have a feeling its more of a locals place, as we walked in everyone looked up and watched us. Cute place inside, kind of like visiting your grandmother's house who has an obsession with pink flamingos. Breakfast was good, the Corned Beef Hash was very good! We would have felt like we found a hidden gem, but the staff seemed rather aloof. The cook (owner?) kept staring our way from the open kitchen, and the wait staff was competent but not overly friendly.
