Shinola watch

Brought in my Shinola watch and they made the adjustments while I waited. Quick, easy, professional service, and a fun experience. Highly recommend!

Caravelle/Bulova vintage wristwatch
C D.

I was given a charming vintage Caravelle/Bulova watch and immediately one of the pins for the wristband broke. I read reviews of local watch repair shops and decided that Clockworks was good for my small repair - but I felt a little bit bad taking a wristband repair to someone so skilled in actual watch and clock repair, but I made the right decision. Mr. Achmet had the right tool to replace the pin - and two other people came in with similar repair requests while I was waiting. My wrists are very thin so he removed some of the links. I noticed when he told the other customers what he was going to do, he made sure the links were evenly balanced. It fits well now. This was technically not a watch repair but rather a wristband repair, while I was waiting I realized what a wonderful resource this little shop is. I will be returning.

HIGHLY recommend this place-- writing this review a bit late but i had originally gone to fast fix in short pump for my broken watch and was quoted $75+ to fix it, plus it would have taken a few days at the very least! when i got to the clockworks, Jim, the owner was so kind and helpful, fixed my watch right away and even showed me how he did it, and for forty dollars less than the other place was quoting me. if i ever have any problems with my watch again, i'll definitely be going back here. Update: Third time coming here, Jim fixed & replaced the battery in my grandads 25+ year old watch! Was in and out in about 10-15 minutes. I will never go anywhere else for repairs/battery replacement, or anything watch or clock related!! Thank you Jim!!!

CCCP Heritage watch

Mr. Ahmed has genuine passion for his craft and showed empathy for my late Uncle's watch while diagnosing and repairing it. His experience and knowledge are evident, and I would recommend anyone to stop in for help with their time piece! Thanks again.

Mr. Ahmed joyfully repaired 3 precious watches with the capability of somebody who has been in the business of watch servicing for over 40 years. For the SEIKO 5, he actually crafted a small piece to repair the band. This is something that another watchmaker claimed was not possible. He also worked to service a precious 1930s heirloom - Lord Elgin - that I would be hesitant to drop off with any service person. It's clear why Mr. Ahmed is a world renowned watchmaker.

Breitling with new battery!

Quality, value, service and personality. I came in right before closing time to drop off my Breitling to get the battery replaced and Jim did it on the spot instead and delighted in showing me the intricate process. He's the best.

This is my second time going to see Mr.Ahmed I purchased a clock which he had at a very reasonable price he took the time to clean it and he showed me exactly what he was doing I actually learned alot from him he takes pride in his work pure craftsman

Shinola

I brought my Shinola watch in today because it wasn't working and when Jim looked at it he immediately recognizers that someone else had been replacing the battery prior. He pointed out that the screws were loose and therefore dirt had gotten into the mechanics of the watch. There weee also fingerprints on the back of the dial and som minor rust. He cleaned it and tightened the battery holder, which was also loose. All of these could have led to larger issues. I would recommend not going to any of the fast fix places in the west end and just go to Clockworks.

Yes, friendly guy and efficient. Be aware he only takes cash. Let's see how long the battery lasts :).

Sam's Clock Repair

I'm embarrassed to admit hat we were negligent in caring for our inherited grandfather's…read moregrandfather clock. Haha. We moved it across country and didn't oil it at all for 6 years! Yes, that's dumb. We made an in home appointment with Sam who is friendly and respectful, wears shoe covers and a mask. He got right to work taking the works out and checking everything inside. Surprisingly the clock wasn't dirty but desperately needed oil. Delaying oiling it caused some minor wear on 2 gears. But he said it's not enough to need replacement or repair. I wouldn't have known the difference if he had said it did but he was honest. He oiled it, answered all my many questions as he worked and was done in 30 minutes. He asked if we would like to make an appointment for an oiling in 2 years! If you sign up for routine maintenance the price is discounted. And I need reminders! My friend had an appointment same day. Her clock needed some repairs but his estimate was way less than other clock repairs we've had done in the past. He is in great demand and has a few months wait for repairs to be completed but it'll be done right and with quality parts some of which he hand makes.

He makes house calls and got my family's nearly 100 year old grandfather clock running superbly. He patiently explained every step of the process - from replacing parts to why the malfunction occurred. Cannot recommend Sam highly enough! Very fair prices as well!
