I wish they had negative stars! WOW I had to take the time right after placing a formal BBB complaint about this horrible company. I used them for a few months back in 2014. One of their employees broke a bottle of my husbands cologne. They left me a note that clearly states to call the office to discuss options for repair, replacement, or reimbursement. NO where does it say "credit". I discussed with the house keeper since I was home when they broker it, she told me just to buy a new bottle, send in the receipt no problem. Well I travel for work and life just got busy and I misplaced the receipt from Cleaning Authority, I recently found it. Since there was NO expiration date on it, I thought I would send it in. I should have known it wasn't going to be this easy. I sent in a letter explaining that I misplaced the damage receipt along with the receipt from replacing the bottle for $45.49. I got a call from the office manager, Kim, who was very nice and explained that they will "credit my account for $45.49" I explained I am no longer a customer and would just like a refund since that was an option stated on the broker item receipt from their company. She explained there was nothing she could do but would have the owner call me. When I didn't receive a call back a week later, I called again today and spoke with the new owner ( she bought the franchise Nov 2014) Andrea Slezank, she explained that she is happy to "credit" me and they could schedule a cleaning, which in turn would cost me $100.00 plus dollars. I explained, I am not a customer anymore and would just like a refund. Andrea explained that she is a new owner and not taking on the old owners issues. Wait, didn't she just offer me a credit? But now she won't honor the $45.49 refund? Sound shady?? Get's better...she then proceeded to educate me on how I should have handled this in a more timely manner. Excuse me?? There is no expiration date on this receipt, she kept the name, bought the franchise was going to offer credit but won't honor the refund? So they can basically come in, break something every time they come clean and just keep issuing credit while people would have to keep paying for cleaning to cash in their credit? COME ON?? THIS IS SHADY! I could careless about the 45.00 seriously it's just principle at this point. This is not a company ANYONE SHOULD DO BUSINESS WITH! Since I work in Real Estate, I am very happy to ensure everyone in the Arizona market knows about this company and to never use them! Bottom-line, if this company break something in your home while you are paying them to clean your house, you get a CREDIT for future cleaning! Period...sounds like a company you want to work with? Awful, I should have looked at yelp. I received a flyer in the mail and called to get information. The new owner came over to give me an estimate and go through a folder with a complete description of what they do. I was thrilled and hired them to clean every other week. The first 2 cleanings they call their detailed cleanings and talk about over promise and under deliver. The first 2 "detailed cleanings" were average and nothing what they tell you they would do. The third normal cleaning was awful! They missed everything and I really think my 4 year old could have cleaned better than they did. You can tell they use a duster and just dust around things and not pick up small objects to dust under (lazy!) On top of it, I had given them a key and on a visit they couldn't get the door unlocked and rather than call me, they had their manager Kim drive out with her screwdriver and take the whole lock off (which ended up breaking). They left after their cleaning with no door handle or lock which anyone could have gotten in, and they didn't even tell me the door handle was off. They did comp the cleaning but I just don't feel like they used good judgment and had horrible communication. We have security cameras installed and on 1 cleaning I could hear the 2 cleaners scoping out the cameras and telling each other where they were. SHADY!! Beware, they seem organized and the new owners seem nice but I think whoever runs and hires these cleaners needs to replaced. I definitely would not recommend them. read more

Oh I was so excited to find a company that would actually clean my house. They seem very professional and organized. I signed up for a deluxe service of some sort where a deep clean was to be done on the kitchen. Well they didn't even wipe the counter. They left without saying a word. This review is for the outfit in Phoenix AZ. My realtor referred to me to a private cleaning group. The 4 women cleaned EVERYTHING, EVERY TIME including making beds, cleaning the inside of the toaster oven, toaster, even washing the windows every now and then... they did a GREAT job. Unfortunately, they didn't speak English so I cannot ask them anything or help them. And I was worried about tax withholding, etc. I decided to replace them because they broke things. I thought the Cleaning Authority would be a good replacement because they're bonded, insured and accepted credit card payments. But their 'rotation cleaning system' meant they only cleaned some things on alternate visits. And they don't tasks like change linens, vacuum cobwebs from ceiling corners, wash windows... I don't know whether the previous people or the Cleaning Authority people stole things but I have lost items. read more

We were very excited to use this cleaning, especially because they do green cleaning! The management seemed very eager to help resolve the poor attention to cleaning and many missed areas that where supposed to be given extra attention. However, none of these issues were ever resolved and only compounded with every cleaning, given that for no cleaning did we have the same crew. The first cleaning was subpar, with lots of spots missed or not cleaned at all! Instead of having the cleaning redone, they lumped it with the next cleaning, but then other areas where missed. The crews themselves where overall okay. Most didn't speak much English (or Spanish), and they entered the house in a rush, no hello's, and always startled my toddler with their rushing around. I get it, they get paid very little, bit this does not make for a very good experience. We thought our blinds where going to get ripped off the windows with how fast they cleaned! And I always had to be home to show them how to open baby gates, trash bag locations, and basically where to clean. Very inconvenient. In their defense, some (very very few) things where cleaned well. About 20% of all they had to clean. So, after four cleaning sessions of hand-holding, I decided to let them go. read more

I had the amazing team of Brooke and Winter clean my home today. What a complete pleasure these girls are and they work amazingly well together. They are professional, caring, friendly and kind. I enjoyed having them in my home, they brought lovely energy. Both Brooke and Winter are incredibly hard workers and really took the time and consideration to clean my home properly and with care. I admire their work ethic and their intelligence. It will be a pleasure to have these two gals in my home in the future. They are a tremendous asset to Cleaning Authority. Last week I got a good clean from Jolene and Evy. Evy was a new trainee but followed directions well and was thorough. Jolene was an excellent trainer and very attentive to details. All this said, I've been with the company since October of 2018 and other than the first couple cleans, I have had a new crew each time. Since I am very specific about deep cleaning this has meant that I need to constantly be training a new crew. However, they have all been very willing to accommodate my requests. Also even though the company is reliable at sending crews, I never know if my crew will come early or late morning until the night before. I wish I could have a set start time. read more

We used the Cleaning Authority three times. The first time was great. The crew did a fantastic job. The second time we had a different crew. The wet mopped our wood floor after we requested NO WET MOP ON WOOD FLOOR. The third time and a third crew they broke a blade off our ceiling fan. I tried to give this service a chance and let them clean our house at least 5 times. After the second we called and pointed out what needed improvement and they sent a "trainer" out with the crew for the next cleaning it was much better but after that each week it would get worse and worse. I don't think they use cleaners. Floors are a mess when they leave I have to re-mop to get up all the spots they leave. I think there are better options I will be looking for one of them. read more

It is important to work closely with the provider to agree on your expectations right up front. Plus stay in communications with Kim if you have any concerns about the service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had some work done on our house and hired this company to clean it before we moved back in. The house was completely empty and they did a HORRIBLE job cleaning. There were things that we asked them specifically to clean and when we showed up on moving day they were not done (they didn't even do it partially). In addition, they sent someone out to give us a quote who barely spoke English. When we went to pay they said that we actually owed them more and basically accused us of lying about the estimate we received from the woman. We didn't check any reviews online as they came recommended by a neighbor. My wife and I vetted a few companies and yes they were the cheapest so I guess you get what you pay for. Phil the Co-owner came to our house and gave us an in-home quote and assessment and based on what he told us he gave us the same pitch that everyone else did about the first 2 cleanings would be "deep cleanings" and after that maintenance follow-ups on a every other week basis. Well we signed up and the first "deep cleaning" was lackluster to say the least. The cleaning crew was supposed to clean the grout in the tile in the kitchen, underneath the hood, bathroom showers, etc... Much to our disappointment they didn't clean the grout in the tile in fact there were still crumbs on the counter and coffee spots from where we leave the coffee stir on the side of the kitchen sink. This stuff was plain as day to a slob that it wasn't done and I have to tell you my wife was an innkeeper at a hotel for several years and we are not messy people. They failed to wipe off the light fixtures in the bathroom and hardly touched the shower/tub nor the basins of the toilet. I could go on and on about how sloppy they were. Well I voiced my concerns and they offered to come out the next day to remedy it but I suggested that they just take care of it on the next deep cleaning. I chalked it up to a mistake which was being generous. Second go around the final "deep cleaning" they obviously had been put on notice with a very detailed list of the basic stuff they failed to do the first time. Once again they disappointed by failing to take care of the items we pointed very succinctly with Kim. I once again told Kim that this was overlooked and that I did not want that cleaning crew to show up again to our home. She assured me that she would send a new crew and that she would be there to supervise. The second effort to the second deep cleaning was better but still items left to be desired. Still no light fixtures cleaned, base of the toilets, bathroom floor was gritty, crumbs on the counter behind the coffee maker,and finger prints on the picture frames after pointing this out 3 times!!! Remember this is as advertised service on the deep clean. 3rd cleaning was ok but still missed the lights, crumbs on counters, still spots on the floors, etc . . . Final cleaning and 4th cleaning was an absolute joke. We arrived home after work to find that the crew didn't clean the kitchen sink and in fact left their cup and sponge with our sink mat on top of our drying mat dirty by the way where we dry our 6 month old son's bottles. Yeck! This time we thought we would leave a friendly reminder note on the kitchen table to gently remind them to clean the light fixtures in the bathroom and base of the toilets . Not only did they ignore our requests but placed their little note right next to ours to call Kim and tell her if we liked their cleaning as they always do after they not clean our home. I mean add insult to injury this is a slap in the face or a big FU. This was by far the worst job they had done to date. Crumbs and spots on the kitchen floor, didn't clean the microwave, toilets and light fixtures you guessed it not even remotely addressed. Made our bed with the comforter in big clump in the bottom of the duvet. Again just careless. So we called a couple days later and got a call back from Andrea the spouse and co-owner. I explained our great disappointment and that we would be firing them at this point. They clearly had done very little to remedy this and took no pride in their work. Every opportunity was afforded them to make good on their promises and they continually fell short. Fool me once shame on them, but fool me 4 times I guess we shouldn't have been so lenient. Andrea stated their company policy was to inform them the next day of any issues but after at least two times informing them of our concerns we knew there was no way to reconcile this and we didn't want to invite some sort of retribution from the crew. I tried to inform her of what her crews were not doing and she got very solemn and meek. In no way did I raise my voice our swear but voiced with conviction the pathetic job that her crew had been doing. I politely requested a refund of the last cleaning and even supplied her with copious amounts of photos of the offending areas. She was hardly moved other than to say than to say thank you for the training exercise. I would have thought the first two times would have been enough to "train" them. She finally told me that she would refund $25 as that was all she could do. She is the owner of the company and not a mid level manager. She could refund the entirety of the last charge but refused to do so. Had she done that I probably wouldn't be as upset as that would have indicated to me that she really was trying to make things right after all. I set up an appointment to get an estimate on a Monday morning around 10am. They called around 8am that day saying that the person coming out (I believe the owner) was sick and wouldn't be able to make it. I appreciated the heads up as I am 9 months pregnant and have 2 other children as well. However, I was never asked if I would like to reschedule the estimate and no one has ever contacted me again over 3 weeks later. I found another company to come out but just found this very unprofessional. Obviously they don't really need new customers. read more

This is not so much about the quality of work they do as much as it is about their hiring and employment practices. I probably made my first mistake by not reading all the "fine" print. Somewhere it must of mentioned that the Hiring on Bonus would not be paid for 90 days and then it would come in 2 parts. Previous employees promised this had not yet received it. Wondering if it ever is actually paid out. Also, some where it must have said that if I did not stay with the job for how ever long I would be charged for the background check in the amount of $65.00. Again, wondering if it is even done. I received 3 uniform tops, which I tried to return upon quitting. They charged me $35 for them. I imagine it stated that somewhere as well. I did not fight for the fees to be returned because it occurs to me that they are very well versed on what they can get away with and what they can not. However, I was also shorted my training hours that I put in extra each day and I am pretty sure that they try to short every one some where or another hoping that the intelligence of most employed there would never catch such "mistakes". The work is "back breaking" hard and the crap taken off of your trainers and co workers is not worth the $7.35 you make only to have to watch and make sure you won't be cheated out of every hour you worked. Before you are desperate enough to answer to an ad by Cleaning Authority promising a $500 Hiring Bonus and $9-$11 an hour, BEWARE...there are many hoops you will have to go through to maybe get it or not. If you will be able to LAST that long. During the short amount of time I was there, I saw a half a dozen people start and quit after one day or a day or two. I had Scott come to my home to give me an estimate. I showed him everything that I wanted them to clean. He said OK and that he was able to do the job. I have a very large home. Scott said he was able to do the work. He emailed the quote. I agreed to the extremely high price but felt it would be worth it. The day before the cleaners were to come we just want over what was to be done. She said the ladies were not to use a step stool over two steps. I said that is not what Scott said. This is way I hired them to do the work I can't do and to clean fans and the chandeliers that need to be cleaned. Btw this is the first clean which is a deep clean. So when I questioned the young lady who answers the phone about the stepstool and then I needed my chandeliers cleans she told me she would call me back. So then I get a call from the owners wife telling me to just find another cleaning company that they can't accommodate us. I told her that's fine I will find a more reputable cleaning company that says what they going to do and keeps their word. And to boot they wasted two weeks of my time trying to schedule this cleaning. Scott please do not reply to my comment I am not interested. read more

From the estimate process through the entire process, the is the best cleaning company in town. Very professional, and great prices. Oh, and the cleaning has been fantastic as well. We spend 6 month a year here, and 6 months in the Northwest, and enjoy The Cleaning Authority in both places. read more
