Came here for a celebratory family dinner while visiting Baltimore for the first time, and we knew we had to try seafood since Maryland is famous for its blue crabs. We ordered the small raw seafood tower, the steamed seafood platter, and the lobster pasta from the large plates section. We are a family of four with a pretty big appetite, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Everything was delicious and incredibly fresh. The raw tower came with cocktail sauce, mignonette, horseradish, and lemon slices, and the steamed platter was served with melted butter and nicely seasoned spices. There was also hot sauce and Old Bay seasoning on the table so you could customize everything to your taste. Once the seafood arrived we got fully busy with our hands and all the tools provided, which honestly made the whole experience even more fun. I genuinely cannot pick a favorite because we enjoyed every single thing we ordered. I also tried the Orange Crush, which I learned is a Maryland vodka drink made with freshly crushed fruit juice. That drink was dangerous because it tasted just like orange juice, but the vodka definitely sneaks up on you. Since we were celebrating, dessert was on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cast iron baked cookie with salted caramel ice cream and it was the perfect ending to the meal. The cookie was crispy around the edges, soft and moist in the middle, and the slight saltiness from the ice cream paired so well with it. Our server, Lylah, was wonderful and made sure we always had everything we needed throughout the meal. This ended up being such a memorable dinner for our family. Highly recommend The Choptank for seafood, celebrations, and a fun dining experience in Baltimore.

10/10 We had dinner here on January 22nd, getting in around 5:00 pm, and I honestly could not believe how quiet it was we were basically the only two people in the restaurant. That alone felt wild, because everything about this place deserved a packed house. The bartender was fantastic friendly, attentive, and clearly knew her stuff. It was happy hour, so I ordered a peach tea crush and my friend got an orange crush. She even asked whether we wanted soda water or Sprite, which is such a small detail but something I'm never asked and it made the drinks even better. Both were absolutely delicious. Now let's talk food, because wow. I ordered the half & half soup (half Maryland crab soup, half cream of crab), and it was hands-down the best crab soup I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. So good that we later came back for soup to go, and then also DoorDashed soup that night because we realized we were going to want more. That should tell you everything. I also got the lobster roll with crab and bacon fries, and I'm still thinking about it. Unreal. My friend ordered the pan-seared rockfish with loaded mashed potatoes, and her meal was just as incredible. Everything came out fast, hot, and beautifully prepared. The restaurant itself is gorgeous clean, comfortable, stylish, and welcoming. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful and kind, and the whole experience felt effortless. Yes, prices are a little on the higher side but this is seafood, and nothing felt shocking or out of line for the quality you're getting. Completely worth it. What really blew my mind was that when we stopped back later, it still wasn't busy maybe 10-20 people total, on a Thursday night in Fells Point. Absolutely baffling. Bottom line: This place is now a mandatory stop anytime I'm in Fells Point honestly, probably daily if I'm in the area. Incredible food, great drinks, beautiful space, and top-notch service. If you're skipping The Chop Tank, you're doing it wrong.

I am 6 months late in writing my review but I visited Choptank in August 2025. It is located in fells point right by the water so I would definitely recommend trying with friends who are visiting Baltimore to show them around! My friend and I sat outside and the staff were nice enough to move us when we realized our first table was directly facing the sun. Once we were seated at the table under the shade, we were ready to go. Our food was yummy and they even brought out champagne for us since we were celebrating my friend's engagement and my birthday. Their mimosas were also very yummy! The only caveat was that we were surrounded by bees the entire time we were there. The vibes, weather, food, and everything was good only if it weren't for the bees. I will definitely be back for their outdoor tables but try to go when bees aren't so out and about!

With four minutes to spare, we managed to place our order right before the kitchen closed. And let me tell you--when they say "last call," you'd better jump on it because there are no exceptions. The drinks were good, and the staff was both nice and accommodating. But the mussels? They brought me pure joy. The broth was delicious and complemented the mussels perfectly. Everything I had was simply delicious.

They have a typical baltimore seafood selection but theirs actually tastes good compared to nearby places. The outdoor seating is the best here and I would personally choose that over the indoor space any day. The service was excellent shout out Xavier for a great dinner experience. The crab soup is really good and the PEI oysters were very fresh.

This is a huge venue. We have been here twice, once for a drink at the bar outside and once for brunch inside. The service outside was not friendly at all. I think we hit some sort of shift change, we were ignored for quite awhile by both parties. We also came for brunch on a Sunday. There was live music and the service inside was much more friendly. The food was fun (that chicken sando on a donut was a great brunch idea, I just wish the chicken had actually been spicy). My salad, despite all of the varied ingredients, was not especially tasty. The drinks were inventive, my Bloody Mary was super chunky and a little hard to drink. I would probably grab a beer here (inside, most likely) but I don't think I would come back for the food.

Doing a galentine's crawl with my girls and I purchased a ticket for the choptank experience. They gave me this cute breakfast board and the $2 cocktails package. I'm having a ball and the quality of everything including service is great. Signage could be better otherwise green flag.

It's our first time in Maryland and we know their speciality is blue crab. We gave the seafood platter a try and it was to die for. My favorite was definitely the blue crab. I love how fresh the seafood was. The clams were raw and I didn't even realize until the waiter told me. That's how fresh they were. It was so good I had to get an extra order of clams and oysters. I'd say as for the crab dip it was a bit too cheesy for my preference but if you are into that, it would taste amazing. Overall, the dish was great! I'd definitely come by again and try the chili crab next time.

Busy Saturday night, but found 2 seats at the bar. Service was fast and food was great, is there a such thing as bad food in Baltimore?! Steak salad was amazing the steak was very well seasoned and prepared. Calamari was fresh, nothing out of the world just. Half and half was interesting. More creamier than expected but it was first time trying this local dish. I would not order it again lol. But it was yummy. The food is pretty rich and they give you enough to take home so think maybe 3 meals lol. Ambiance was dinner crowd, tourist, locals, dates.

Very nice place. Lots of seating options. Very nice staff. Value is not quite there. Clean place, they had live music. Drinks were pricey. Crabcake Sandwhich had Big chunks of crab but lacked flavor. Five Guys has better fries. Crabsoup(half and half) was real good and recommended.

Dined here during a weekday happy hour around 6:00. The outdoor courtyard area bar was quite busy- because of the warm day we open for the indoor bar seating. Surprisingly, we were only one of two parties seated inside. The restaurant is very large and has nice, coastal ambiance. Our bartender, Nick, was so friendly and made some great cocktails. We were able to enjoy quite a few items from their happy-hour menu including the orange crush cocktail that Baltimore is known for I guess (was tasty), the oysters (fresh and delicious though a little on the small side), their gigantic meatball, and their warm crab dip (recommend adding more old bay). It was a nice experience to try some Baltimore seafood and drinks in a fun area, recommend!

The crabcakes are to die for! I've been to both Annapolis and Baltimore location and food has always been consistently great! Service was decent this day but it was a busy day! The place had a great coastal vibe though I wish it was by the water!

Received great service at the bar Friday. Food selection was great and we enjoyed the overall experience. I've dined here before and love when they have their outdoor seating available in the warmer months. Looks like a great space to host an event as well! Check them out the next time you're in the Fells Point area near Broadway Street Market

They did just that. I chose to sit on the 2nd level because it was a little warmer up there and I was able to have time to myself to catch up on my Yelp. I was given menus immediately although I already knew what I wanted. I ordered immediately and was informed that I made great selections and great selections indeed. I ordered their Firecracker Shrimp appetizer and B.A.L.T. Sandwich as my entree. The appetizer was plated lovely! It was so tasty and good. The B.A.L.T. is where we ran into some problems, but before I get to that let me finish out the greatness. The French Fries that I received with my sandwich was so good that I stop eating my Shrimp Appetizer because I had to eat each and every one of those curly seasoned fries. They were so so so good! They didn't even need ketchup! Now, this B.A.L.T. Sandwich was so sad I think I saw it crying on my plate. I got 1 scrawny piece of bacon for each half. They gave me the entire head of lettuce and I opted not to get the avocado and mayo but 1 miserable piece of bacon on each half... heartbreaking. For that reason this place gets a 4. Only reason I didn't give them a 3 is because the young lady that assisted (Kelsey) was fantastic! She was so sweet and kind. She came at the right time all the time and each time she needs to see me she had to run upstairs to check on little old me and appeared to have no problem with it. Steak was great and the Salmon BLT all 10/10 Extremely happy with everything, a must try

The vibe was cozy, relaxed, and full of personality especially all the dog artwork on the walls (don't tell my cats ). Our waitress, Sadie, was incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we sat down. She highly recommended the truffle fries with the aioli sauce, and WOW!!! she absolutely knew what she was talking about. Those fries were honestly the standout of the meal. The smell alone was amazing when they hit the table -- perfectly crispy with truffle seasoning and Parmesan cheese, and the citrus Parmesan aioli really took them over the top. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the Sully Smash Burger with bacon added, cooked perfectly medium. The chicken sandwich was perfectly crispy, hot, juicy, and flavorful. Everything came out fresh and satisfying without feeling overly heavy. Great food, friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and definitely somewhere we'd return to next time we're in Fells Point. And we found parking nearby so we didn't have to walk far!
